Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1027: Chapter 1027: You Jinx!

”It seems everyone has become quite shrewd,” An Hao noted. When everyone flocks together, that’s when you stop making money.

”Exactly! Everyone is selling vegetables now! They are all following our lead, not using scales to sell vegetables anymore, but going directly to the big clients like we do! That’s where the problem started—comparisons lead to this credit business.”

”No worries, let me think about what to do.”

”Alright! Sister, it’s all on you!” Whenever there was a problem they couldn’t solve, his sister could resolve it instantly. ”Honestly, I’ve never really admired anyone as much as I admire you! Sister, you have a knack for business, you should just quit being a doctor! What if we, brother and sister, partnered up? I guarantee we would become wealthy within a year.”

”No, I’d rather stay a doctor! Saving lives with a scalpel feels more meaningful to me than making money. I’ll do my best to help you with the business! But how far it goes still depends on how hard you work,” An Hao said.

”Alright then! I’ll work hard and earn money to support you, just in case you can’t make it as a doctor, then you can come back and join me!”

No sooner had An Ping finished speaking than An Hao slapped him across the face. ”You crow’s mouth! Saying I can’t make it? I am determined to be a doctor! And not just any doctor, but a remarkable military doctor!”

As the siblings talked, they arrived in town.

In the past two years, the most thriving businesses in town had been the clothing factories, which popped up overnight.

This Mr. Wang was the last to start but became the most profitable.

Why?

Because he cut corners! Anything that wasn’t his, he’d pull towards himself.

”Sister, you better prepare yourself mentally. This guy is tough to deal with,” An Ping warned An Hao.

”Don’t worry. Together, we will definitely get it sorted today.”

The siblings arrived at the clothing factory and stood outside the general manager’s office. When they arrived, several people were already there—two from other villages and two from their own village, all crowded at the doorway, unable to get in.

”Oh, you all came too?” An Ping was familiar with them since they were the ones who came to demand money every month.

They say those in the same trade are rivals.

Yet, these men were more like brothers in adversity, gathering with just one thing in mind: ”money.”

”Exactly! We’ve been in, but we couldn’t get our money! Mr. Wang already owes me three thousand. I was counting on that money for the New Year!”

”I couldn’t get mine either. It’s infuriating, he’s a real skinflint!”

”What about you, Uncle Jin Shan?” An Ping was particularly concerned about him, as they were from the same village and Jin Shan was very astute. If he couldn’t get his money, it definitely meant trouble.

”It’s tough to get. Once he grips onto the money, it just doesn’t come out,” Jin Shan shook his head, lamenting how difficult it was to do business even when one had some money.

From their conversation, An Hao could clearly understand what kind of person they were dealing with!

Calling him a miser or ”King Skinflint” wasn’t an exaggeration at all!

”Why don’t you all go in? If you can’t get the money, let’s go tear him a new one together!” An Hao was perplexed. With so many against one, how could they not handle him?

”They’re doing business inside! They won’t entertain us until their deals are done. If they never finish, they don’t even bother speaking to us,” Jin Shan shook his head.
