Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 600: Chapter 600: Drenched Like a Drowned Rat

In the evening, An Hao returned to the dormitory.

Gu Shuangshuang took out a paper box, ”This was brought over by the girls from the next dorm. They said it’s for you.”

”What is it? Who’s it from?” An Hao asked, puzzled.

”I don’t know who it’s from. Open it and see. Could it be a gift from a guy who admires you?” Gu Shuangshuang teased An Hao with a smile.

An Hao opened the box and, upon seeing what was inside, was so angry her nose was almost crooked.

The box wasn’t filled with anything else but her own shoes.

The shoes that that Cheng freak had taken away were now returned.

”Oh my! Who could this be? The Study Prince delivering Cinderella’s glass slipper?” Gu Shuangshuang teased An Hao with a laugh.

An Hao clenched her teeth in secret, vowing that if she ever ran into that Cheng jerk again, she would definitely not hold back.

Just then, she suddenly heard Cheng Yue’s voice from downstairs, ”An Hao, do you like the gift I sent you? Haha!”

Originally, he intended to let An Hao hang for a while before returning. However, he hadn’t expected that this girl would just walk away without a trace, barefoot.

So he had no choice but to return the shoes in this way.

When they heard the voice, everyone in the dorm ran to the balcony and poked their heads out to look.

An Hao saw those three unruly rascals downstairs and, without saying a word, grabbed a basin and went to the water room to fill it with cold water to the brim.

”Excuse me,” she said.

Then, amid her roommates’ astonished looks, An Hao dumped the basin of water forcefully from above, splashing it all over those downstairs.

After a brief silence below, a cacophony of noises and laughter erupted.

An Hao poked her head out to look and saw that the three rascals were drenched, like drowned rats.

”Serves you right!” An Hao said with a laugh.

After returning from the hospital, An Hao seemed like a changed person, best described as forsaking sleep and food for over a month.

Every day, she shuttle between school, the library, and the hospital, adding extra medical knowledge to her studies beyond the classes.

Yan Ye saw her hard work and wholeheartedly wanted to help An Hao. He hoped to gather the elite students from the school and lead them to success.

So, he would sometimes guide An Hao, recommending books suitable for her, and on weekends, he would take her and a few higher-level students to the hospital for internships.

She was incredibly busy, sometimes not even having time to talk to Gu Shuangshuang, let alone those rascals.

They tried to catch An Hao after class a few times but rarely succeeded.

Time flew by, and before long, it was National Day.

An Hao had originally planned to spend the holiday following Yan Ye in the hospital, soaking up experience.

However, she unexpectedly received a call from Qin Jian.

His leave of absence to visit his family was approved, and he could spend the National Day at home with An Hao.

Upon receiving Qin Jian’s call, An Hao was overjoyed.

Originally, Gu Shuangshuang had planned to drag her along for the holiday celebrations, but seeing the situation, she had to let it go. Not wanting to go home, she had no choice but to stay on campus.

On the evening of the holiday, Qin Jian’s train arrived at the station.

Ning Yibin and Zhang Yun went together to pick up Qin Jian.

An Hao hurried back from school only to find that her home was already empty.

It seemed her in-laws had already gone to the train station, which appeared to be a bit too early; according to the usual arrival time of this train, there was still an hour before Qin Jian would arrive.

So, An Hao put her things down, changed her clothes, took some money, and prepared to take the bus to the train station to meet Qin Jian.

An Hao stepped out of the house, standing at the doorstep locking the door.

Suddenly, a familiar voice came from behind her, ”An Hao!”

An Hao turned her head and saw Qin Jian standing there, with his tall and straight figure, a handsome and clear-cut face, beneath two sword-like eyebrows, eyes sparkling like stars filled with tender laughter.

Seeing An Hao look at him, Qin Jian smiled slightly and opened his arms, ”An Hao, come here!”
