Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 566: Chapter 566: Don’t Label Others Randomly

”What do you want to talk to me about?” Guifang looked at An Hao’s earnest demeanor and, for a moment, wasn’t quite sure what she was getting at.

”Just about you and your husband’s quarrels.” An Hao stood up, poured a cup of cool boiled water, and handed it to her.

”That big mouth Li, always blabbing everything to everyone.” Clearly, Guifang did not appreciate her husband discussing their private matters outside their home.

”Do you feel uncomfortable because Brother Li has shared your family issues with us?” An Hao asked with a gentle smile on her face.

Concerned that An Hao might misunderstand, Guifang quickly said, ”I didn’t mean anything by it, just that it’s ultimately my own family matter. Our marital issues...”

”So on this matter, do you have some complaints about Brother Li?” An Hao continued to press.

”Isn’t that obvious?” She was naturally upset about it.

Seeing that Guifang’s train of thought was starting to align with her own, An Hao began to reveal her intent: ”That’s right. Sister, you’re upset now, but have you ever considered how others feel, the hurt your words may cause?”

”I...” Only then did Guifang realize what An Hao was truly getting at.

”Sister, I treat you like my own family, that’s why I’m speaking to you like this. If it were someone like Sister Chunhua, I wouldn’t even bother to speak up. It’s because I consider you sensible, Sister, and I also feel that someone as nice as you should have an even happier life. Brother Li has been praising you all the time, but he’s just dissatisfied with your inability to hold your tongue.”

After finishing her piece, An Hao paused for a moment before continuing, ”I am dissatisfied too. Sister, do you realize how much pain labeling someone can cause? You’ve just experienced that taste, haven’t you? Perhaps in the future, you could think thrice before speaking?”

”I...” Guifang felt rather ashamed after getting a lecture from An Hao.

Not long ago, Chunhua told her some unfavorable things about An Hao, and she was the one who spread the gossip. At the time, it reached An Hao’s ears, and she was quite worried for a while.

Later, she heard that Qin Jian had sought out Dahe, and Dahe had beaten up Chunhua. She was really afraid Qin Jian would come after Zecheng.

But he didn’t, and the worry Guifang had been harboring finally subsided.

She originally thought that An Hao, being young, simply didn’t understand many things. But it turned out An Hao was as clear-headed as a mirror, she just hadn’t spoken up.

She had always considered herself a very smart woman!

She didn’t know about other families, but when comparing with a few nearby, she still felt she was quite capable.

Managing the household well, captivating her husband’s heart, and having a few confidantes, she was actually quite content.

But now, looking at An Hao’s life, she felt she didn’t even live as well as a young girl.

”Did you know about that incident?” Since they were being candid, Guifang didn’t hold back, ”I have nothing against you. Just like your Brother Li said, I can’t control my own mouth.”

”Let’s put that incident behind us. I’m just speaking frankly with you, sister,” An Hao said with a smile, gently grasping Guifang’s hand, ”Sister, I’m just young, that’s all. Stop calling me a vixen. When I reach your age, I might not even be as well-preserved as you! Looking at Sister now, you must have been a real beauty when you were younger!”
