Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 556: Chapter 556: I’m Good at Handling This Sort of Thing

”Treat the wound?” Gu Shuangshuang looked down at Tian Niu’s big toe, which was indeed in a quite serious condition. It was red, swollen, ulcerating and showing signs of starting to ooze pus.

This idiot! How can a simple exercise result in such a mess!

If it were in the past, Gu Shuangshuang would definitely feel pity for Tian Niu, but now, her heart was filled to the brim with anger.

”Fine! I am a student at Military Medical University, studying clinical medicine. Treating a wound like this is a piece of cake for me!” Gu Shuangshuang said, taking the scalpel from Xiaotian’s hand, heated it on the lit alcohol lamp, grabbed Tian Niu’s foot and was about to make an incision.

”Shuangshuang! Shuangshuang!” Tian Niu was startled by her gaze, feeling that Gu Shuangshuang didn’t seem to be trying to save him but rather looked like she wanted to kill him, ”You should let Xiaotian do it. After all, you are still a student, while Xiaotian has been doing this for several years now.”

After all, Xiaotian seemed more reliable!

”You don’t trust me?” Gu Shuangshuang glared at Tian Niu, scalpel swinging in her hand, ”I’m a student at Military Medical University, after all. I spent an entire year of my freshman year in anatomy class. Not just toes, I’ve even cut open chests. Do you think a little injury like this can stump me? Don’t worry, by the end of freshman year, my dissection scores were second only to An Hao.”

The more Gu Shuangshuang spoke like this, the more frightened Tian Niu became.

Why did he feel like Gu Shuangshuang was a bit off? She did not seem normal at all.

”Young lady, can you stop fooling around? This is a serious matter. It’s admirable that you are a high achiever, but you only have theory and no practice,” Tian Dandan felt this woman seemed quite formidable and feared what she might do to the commander.

So, she tried to persuade her to give up this idea.

Who knew that Gu Shuangshuang would hook the corner of her mouth into a slight smile and said to Xiaojin, ”You, hold down your commander’s foot. If you can’t keep it still and something goes wrong, you’ll be responsible! My scalpel does not have eyes, you know.”

Xiaojin: ”...”

”Hurry up, what are you spacing out for!”

Xiaojin looked at Tian Niu tremblingly, saw him clench his teeth and nod, then stretched out both hands to hold down Tian Niu’s leg.

Gu Shuangshuang looked at Tian Niu and smiled at him.

Tian Niu felt chills running down his spine and goosebumps all over, before he could even think, a sharp pain shot through his toe.

Qin Jian stood outside the window watching this scene, frowning, ”Isn’t Gu Shuangshuang being a bit reckless? Even if she’s dissatisfied with Tian Niu, she shouldn’t treat him in this manner, right? After all, this is about treating an illness.”

An Hao pressed her lips together in a smile, ”Don’t worry! A minor issue like this won’t pose a problem for Gu Shuangshuang. It’s just about cutting open the abscess and cleaning out the pus. Shuangshuang is fully capable of handling it.”

After all, it was her first time operating on a living person, and Gu Shuangshuang was somewhat scared, but thinking about Tian Niu’s ambiguous attitude towards Xiaotian just before, her heart hardened.

The sharp blade swiftly sliced through his skin, then using tweezers she gripped a cotton ball and forcefully squeezed out the pus within, and cleansed the ulcerating area with alcohol. After that, she sprinkled on some anti-inflammatory powder.

After everything was handled, she lifted her chin toward Tian Dandan, ”You wrap his wound with the gauze.”

Only after everything was done did Tian Niu heave a sigh of relief, his body dripping with sweat that soaked his army-green vest through.

”Look at the state you’re in!” Gu Shuangshuang curled her lip.

”It really hurts, okay? If the wound isn’t on you, naturally you wouldn’t know the agonizing pain,” Tian Dandan said, reaching into her pocket for a handkerchief to wipe the sweat from Tian Niu’s forehead.
