Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 561: Chapter 561: Mind Your Image Issues

Gu Shuangshuang had gone to look for Tian Niu, leaving An Hao at home alone.

During the day while Qin Jian was at work, An Hao would stay at home by herself to review her lessons and then borrow a bike to go to the market and buy some groceries to cook dinner.

It was the height of summer, unbearable in its scorching heat.

At that time, let alone air conditioning, even having an electric fan was considered a rarity.

An Hao returned home from buying vegetables drenched in sweat. As she was going upstairs with her basket, she unexpectedly ran into Zhang Guifang.

Zhang Guifang was coming downstairs, and they walked towards each other.

”Sister-in-law, do you live in this building?” Now that they knew each other, An Hao took the initiative to greet her.

”Yeah. Indeed, when did you move here?” Zhang Guifang asked with a smile.

”A couple of days ago.”

”Oh my, I just happened to be back at my parent’s house these past few days, and only came back today! Otherwise, I would have definitely come to help you move.” Zhang Guifang spoke pleasantly.

An Hao smiled faintly, ”Thank you, sister-in-law. Actually, there wasn’t much to move. The house is fully furnished, so it was just a matter of moving my personal belongings over in one go.”

”Well, that’s good. You’re all set then! You should head up quickly, it’s terribly hot,” Zhang Guifang said.

”Alright. See you then, sister-in-law!”

As An Hao went upstairs, they brushed past each other. Zhang Guifang looked down at An Hao’s basket and saw that she had bought quite a lot of things.

Back at home, An Hao changed out of her dress.

She casually took out a tank top and shorts from her clothes and put them on. This made her feel much cooler and more comfortable to move around and work.

She took the groceries she had bought from the basket and began preparing dinner.

Zhang Guiying came down from her building and went straight to another building, where Feng Chunhua and her husband lived on the first floor. The first floor was a great spot, much cooler in the summer than the fourth floor.

She knocked on the door, and Feng Chunhua quickly came to open it.

Zhang Guiying entered and, upon seeing her, couldn’t help but comment, ”Oh my! Just look at what you’re wearing.”

A small floral tank top, black pants rolled up to mid-calf, and black cloth shoes that she was stepping on the heels of, flattening them down. It all looked unpleasant to the eye.

Especially since Feng Chunhua was somewhat plump, and the tank top revealed her not wearing a bra, with her large breasts swinging about, it was quite an uncomfortable sight.

”What’s wrong with my clothes? Isn’t this how everyone dresses?” Feng Chunhua, feeling criticized by Zhang Guiying, looked down at herself but saw no issue.

”You should wear a... one of those...” Zhang Guiying gestured across her own chest.

Feng Chunhua immediately understood, ”Ah, I’m too old for that, why should I bother?”

”How old are you? Forty yet?” Zhang Guiying had a small issue with gossiping. Despite this, she was quite a good person and was close to Feng Chunhua. If there was something she didn’t like, she would directly point it out.

Feng Chunhua had a temperamental nature, and other people didn’t like to associate too closely with her, so she got along better with Zhang Guiying.

Zhang Guiying was slightly older than her and sometimes her words would have a little influence on Feng Chunhua.

”No,” Feng Chunhua shook her head.

”You’re still so young and yet you pay no attention to your appearance,” Zhang Guiying sat down on the couch inside her house and started lecturing her, ”We women should always pay attention to dressing ourselves up a bit. With age catching up, it’s essential to make ourselves look better to keep a firm hold on a man’s heart.”
