Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 594: Chapter 594 Inquiring about her news

”Ask, ask, ask.”

Cheng Yue got up and pressed Guan Kexin onto the bench, his eyes scanning her up and down.

Guan Kexin’s heart skipped a beat, and she crossed her arms over her chest. ”Your gaze is too scary. You... you don’t like me, do you? Let me tell you, my heart belongs to Yan Ye.”

Cheng Yue’s face looked like he had eaten shit, utterly disgusted by Guan Kexin: ”Don’t flatter yourself! I came here today to ask about someone.”

”Who?”

”An Hao!” Although she hadn’t told him her name, he still managed to find it out.

”An Hao?” Guan Kexin was startled, ”What do you want with her?”

”Why do you care so much? Just cut the crap and tell me about An Hao!” Cheng Yue said impatiently.

”First tell me why you’re asking about her, otherwise, I won’t say a word.”

Cheng Yue needed information from Guan Kexin and, seeing how tight-lipped she was, figured it didn’t matter since she would find out sooner or later anyway.

”I’ve taken a liking to her,” Cheng Yue declared with confidence.

”What?” Guan Kexin dug at her ear. ”Tell me I heard you wrong?”

”You heard right. I’ve taken a liking to An Hao. I want to pursue her!”

Guan Kexin was stunned for a long while before regaining her senses. ”Cheng Yue, are you blind? Or deaf... Don’t you know...”

”Don’t know what?” Cheng Yue asked.

Words at the tip of her tongue, Guan Kexin swallowed them back down and suddenly changed tack: ”Don’t you know she’s notoriously fiery?”

”That’s exactly what I like! Fiery!” Cheng Yue thought of An Hao’s appearance that afternoon, a smile forming at the corner of his mouth.

In his second year of university, he couldn’t believe he had failed to notice such a beautiful and spirited girl in the school.

”She won’t be easy to pursue,” Guan Kexin said, pouting.

”Of course. The woman I like! I must win her over. It’s been twenty years, and she is the first woman to make my heart race!” That glimpse in the afternoon was like a brief encounter, a sudden thrilling heartbeat, which excited him as if he had been injected with adrenaline.

”Must? Aren’t you exaggerating?” Guan Kexin crossed her arms over her chest, watching him with a keen interest.

Cheng Yue curled his lips into a smirk: ”Exaggerating? Not in the slightest! Wait until I win her over, then I’ll show you.”

”Really?” Guan Kexin suddenly felt a bit excited.

If Cheng Yue truly began to pursue An Hao, what a sensational drama it would be!

”Of course. Why else would I come looking for you? Tell me, what does she like to eat? Where does she go? What are her hobbies? Does she have a boyfriend?” Cheng Yue had spent three years in university oblivious to anything outside his circle of friends, uninterested in matters unrelated to him.

Now, wanting to pursue a girl, he realized he was completely clueless, but luckily he knew this girl.

”I don’t know what she likes to eat. I don’t know her hobbies. Where she goes, I don’t know. As for a boyfriend...” Guan Kexin paused, then said slowly, ”None.”

”And you call yourself her roommate! You know her only to this extent?” Cheng Yue said discontentedly.

”I don’t care about her. Because I look down on her! Just a country bumpkin!” Guan Kexin truly despised An Hao.

Cheng Yue jumped off the bench, clapped his hands, and said, ”Then I’m relieved. Whoever you look down on must be decent.”

With that, Cheng Yue walked away with a swagger.

”What do you mean by that!” Guan Kexin was so angry she could spit blood.

How did she end up knowing such a guy!

Cheng Yue returned to his dormitory, and his roommates swarmed around him.

”How’d it go? Did you find out?” Li Zhi leaned in with a gossipy expression.
