Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 597: Chapter 597: Running Off with Her Shoes

Cheng Yue’s large hand was powerful, and with one grasp, he snatched An Hao’s wrist and took off the leather shoe.

It seemed the village girl had it pretty good, to actually be wearing leather shoes.

”Nice shoes, pretty good-looking,” Cheng Yue said.

Having said that, his gaze shifted to her bare feet.

Her feet were white and tender, without socks, and the nails on her five toes were round, radiating a healthy pink hue.

Feeling his gaze, An Hao’s face turned a deep red with embarrassment: ”Where are you looking?”

”How about it? The shoe is in my hand, let me give you a ride, or else I won’t give you the shoe,” Cheng Yue said with a smug grin on his face.

”In your dreams! I don’t need the shoe and I won’t let you give me a ride!” Is this bastard somewhat of a jerk?

”Alright then.” Cheng Yue glanced at the shoe in his hand, stuffed it into his bag, mounted the bike, turned, and rode away, ”I’m giving you five seconds. If you don’t call for me within five seconds, I’m really leaving.”

”You’re such a jerk!”

”Five, four, three, two, one...” Seeing that An Hao refused to speak out, Cheng Yue really did leave with the shoe, ”Off I go! Snagged a Cinderella’s glass slipper as a souvenir!”

Watching the little jerk’s disappearing back, An Hao cursed him and all his ancestors in her heart.

Looking at her foot missing a shoe, what should she do now?

Could she really walk to the library with one bare foot?

With clenched teeth, An Hao truly decided to walk, determined not to bow to the little jerk.

Besides, if someone familiar saw her, she would not be able to explain it to her in-laws.

After all, her husband, Qin Jian, wasn’t home.

If Qin Jian were here, he would solve these little jerks with a few punches and kicks.

No, he wouldn’t even have to lift a finger; a stern glare would have these jerks scrambling.

Comforting herself, An Hao took off the other shoe and carried it in her hand as she walked.

In the distance, a military jeep drove up.

Aboard, Yan Huan was admiring the scenery outside through the glass.

Suddenly catching sight of the girl in a red dress walking on the opposite side, she was about to compliment the beauty of her red dress when, before she could speak, she recognized the girl’s face.

It was An Hao.

Yan Huan withdrew her gaze and with a bang closed the glass window.

Yan Ye, who had been resting with closed eyes, opened them and glanced at Yan Huan: ”What’s wrong?”

”Nothing,” Yan Huan said coldly.

Yan Ye glanced outside the window, and with just that one look, he saw An Hao walking barefoot.

They hurriedly called for the jeep to stop.

He got out of the car himself.

”An Hao?” Yan Ye stopped in front of her, looking down at her feet, ”Why are you walking barefoot?”

”My shoe, some little jerk stole it,” An Hao frowned, furious inside.

By modern standards, a real pervert!

”In the future, try not to go out alone. Recently, this road hasn’t been very safe,” Yan Ye reminded her.

”I understand, Teacher Yan.”

”Come on, get in the car. I’ll give you a ride home.”

”Is that all right?” An Hao looked inside the vehicle.

”Yan Huan is also here. Let’s go together,” Yan Ye meant that this wouldn’t leave any room for gossip.

After being shamelessly slandered twice before, Yan Ye also tried to maintain a certain distance from An Hao.

Just to avoid bringing her any trouble.

”Thank you, Teacher Yan.”

In the car, Yan Huan, seeing her brother bring An Hao on board, felt utterly uncomfortable: ”Brother, we still have things to do. Why did you bring her along?”

Yan Ye didn’t pay attention to Yan Huan; instead, he instructed the driver: ”Let’s go back to the school first.”
