Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 591: Chapter 591 The Switched Reagent

Guan Kexin flung a student handbook: ”Take a look, the whole school has them. I just saw it before you all.”

Gu Shuangshuang took the student handbook and after glancing at it, her face lit up with excitement: ”An Hao, this is practically tailor-made for you.”

An Hao leaned in, and after reading the content, was indeed pleasantly surprised.

The school was planning to adopt a credit system from Western countries in universities, where each course carried credits, and if you completed the credits earlier, you could advance to working on your research paper defense. This way, she could graduate earlier by just putting in a little extra effort.

By graduating earlier, she could reunite with Qin Jian sooner.

The handbook listed many elective courses to choose from, each with substantial credits, and these courses complemented each other, which would greatly help her advance into her specific domain of study much earlier.

”Shuangshuang, I’m going to register for elective courses,” An Hao decided.

”Tch!” Guan Kexin gave a scornful glance, thinking An Hao was one to act impulsively. She wondered what it was about her that Chief of Staff Qin actually liked.

.................................

With the new term beginning, Gu Shuangshuang still couldn’t adapt on the first day.

She overslept during the nap time and, after being called several times by An Hao, she finally got up rubbing her eyes.

As a result, for the first inorganic chemistry lab class in the afternoon, both of them arrived late.

Before the teacher’s temper flared, An Hao and Gu Shuangshuang quickly slipped into their seats.

The experiment began, and An Hao immediately focused all her energy on the experiment, following the steps mentioned in the book, adding reagents, and observing the reaction in the test tube.

After one round of experiments, An Hao found that her results were entirely different from what was mentioned in the materials.

She furrowed her brow and started to look for the problem from beginning to end.

After confirming that the steps and reagents were correct, An Hao started the experiment anew.

The results were the same as before!

While she was deeply contemplating, the teacher came over to inspect her progress.

”Teacher, there’s a problem with this experiment. I’ve followed the steps meticulously, but I can’t get it right,” An Hao reported her findings to the teacher.

”You can’t get it right, and you think the experiment is problematic? Have you asked if the others got it right?”

An Hao turned her head and saw her classmates nodding in agreement; it seemed she was the only one with a problem.

”Then I’ll continue,” she replied.

”Pay attention. Follow the steps carefully, and there’s no way you can’t get it right,” the teacher left these words behind and went to check on the other students’ results.

An Hao buried her head and started the experiment from the beginning once again.

Sitting next to An Hao, Guan Kexin’s lips slightly curled up, her gaze falling on two reagents that looked identical in color, with the hint of a smile even more evident in her eyes.

With the labels switched, adding them in a different sequence would never yield the correct result, would it?

The class passed by quickly, and the bell signaling the end of class rang. The students all began to leave.

”How did it go, An Hao? Did you get the results for the experiment?” Gu Shuangshuang asked her.

”No. I suspect there’s something wrong with what the teacher gave us.” An Hao’s gaze settled on the two colorless, transparent reagents.

With a sneer curling her lips, Guan Kexin mocked her: ”And you’re the top student in the grade? With this level of skill! By the time you get your experimental results, the sun will have set.”

”Mocking me, are you?” Gu Shuangshuang raised an eyebrow at her.

Guan Kexin sneered contemptuously and walked away with her books.
