Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1198: Fifth Area: Mausoleum

Zhang Xiaolong [3] and several women, including Luo Yunxiao and Nalan Yuzhu, had just arrived at a cemetery filled with countless ruined tombs. However, their attention was not on those ruined tombs but on the biggest one in the middle of the area. ”The Endless Night Mausoleum.”

The Endless Night Mausoleum is the ancient burial ground of the Silver Moon Clan. It stretches like a vast city, constructed of black stone halls and carved silver pillars that gleam dimly in the darkness. There are so many ruined tombs in that area, with the largest located in the middle. The air is filled with lingering demonic essence, which distorts perception and suppresses the powers of intruders.

”Hehe.” Nalan Yushu giggled. ”Husband, I think there will be many powerful souls inside, so we should go in now, and I’ll devour all those souls.”

Zhang Xiaolong [3] and the others sighed heavily upon hearing that, but they did not try to stop Nalan Yushu as they had in the Endless Night Cavern.

They had only walked a few steps but immediately stopped, and they turned to look at the people who had just arrived.

”Big Sis! Big Brother!” Nalan Yushu waved her hands at Nalan Wangzi and Nalan Huanzi, who had just arrived with the entourage from the Soul Devouring and Eternal Night Demon Races.

Nalan Wangzi approached Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”Previously, we met Yao Qilin’s group, and she asked about our relationship with you. Luckily, you already informed me about it, so we answered her according to your story.”

”Yao Qilin insisted on taking you with her, and she was willing to give us huge compensation to get you.” Nalan Huanzi added as he walked before Zhang Xiaolong [3]. ”Fortunately, Elder Ye Futian was with us, so she didn’t dare force us. However, I’m not sure she would give up, and she might come to our clan to look for you.”

Zhang Xiaolong [3] nodded at them. ”Don’t worry, I’ll think of a solution to deal with Yao Qilin later, but we have to check the mausoleum as soon as possible before other groups come here.”

”I don’t think they’ll arrive that fast, kid,” Ye Futian spoke. ”Those evil beasts are chasing the best talents of the human, natural, beast, and winged races. The four evil mythical beasts even sent their ten generals here, and they each brought their own large armies, so I’m sure they’re hiding from them right now.”

”Phew.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] let out a soft breath. ”Apart from Yao Qilin, I have also met Long Gui, Xie Zhi, Xie Heilong, and Jiu Niao before. However, they were still too strong for the current me, so I hid from them. The majority of my people are already in the labyrinth , especially since that’s the safest place for now.”

Ye Futian nodded in agreement. ”Ever since this dungeon appeared, people of all races have always avoided the labyrinth because there are too many traps there, and they haven’t found anything good there. Even so, many of them have tried to enter, and some have managed to reach the castle. Unfortunately, their struggle to arrive at the castle ended in vain, especially since there is nothing other than a sealed throne room there.”

”Has no one managed to open the throne room yet, Elder Ye?”

Ye Futian shook his head at Luo Yunxiao. ”The ten demon gods and I have been there in the past, but the seal in front of the throne room was too strong. We’ve used various methods to no avail, so we used all our strength to forcefully open it, but all our attacks were instantly dissipated upon colliding with the seal.”

”No one will ever succeed in breaking the seal, especially since it was created by the guardian of the ancient races.” Ye Futian and the others looked shocked as soon as Zhang Xiaolong [3] said that. ”The Silver Moon Clan and the Golden Sun Clan were once part of the ancient races, and they were much older than the other ancients. I heard about this from the soul of the second-in-command of the Golden Sun Clan, who was imprisoned at the bottom of the Endless Night Abyss. He shared his memories about the disaster with me and Yao Qilin, and he also told us about the guardian named Guang Zhiyi.”

”So, it was the guardian who sealed the throne and imprisoned the man’s soul at the bottom of the abyss, right?”

”Yes.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] then told them the truth. ”The throne is not empty, and the soul of the leader of the Silver Moon Clan is imprisoned there. Just like the man in the abyss, Yin Yue seems to be waiting for someone to free her from her prison; otherwise, she will never be able to reincarnate, and she will be imprisoned there forever.”

Nalan Wangzi immediately asked. ”Are you thinking about freeing the two of them? Aren’t you afraid they will possess you and take over your body?”

”I agree with my sister.” Nalan Huanzi nodded slightly. ”Even though they are dead, their souls must still be powerful, so I think freeing them would be too risky. They might not take over your body, but they might kill you and the people in this dungeon. After all, they have been imprisoned in that place for so long, so I’m sure they hold a deep grudge in their hearts, and they will immediately take their revenge on us.”

”Hahaha.” Nalan Yushu laughed listening to her sister and brother. ”Your worries about those two souls are too much, okay? You two don’t know my husband very well, so you still don’t know much about his abilities. He is a heavenly fox, remember? He possesses some purifying abilities, and he’s purified many evil souls in the Star Tower. Therefore, you don’t need to worry about them, and he won’t release them until he’s certain they won’t cause any trouble.”

Nalan Wangzi and Nalan Huanzi admitted that they didn’t know much about Zhang Xiaolong [3]’s abilities, especially his abilities as a heavenly fox. However, they still doubted that he could refine the two souls, especially since both of them were once members of the ancient races.

”Are you sure you can purify their souls, kid?”

Zhang Xiaolong shook his head at Ye Futian. ”As Yushu said just now, I have some purifying abilities, but I’m not sure whether they will work or not. I won’t immediately release them from their prison, and I’ll try to purify their souls first. If I truly succeed, I’ll release them, but vice versa.”

”I see.” Ye Futian then looked towards the Endless Night Mausoleum. ”In that case, we’ll think about those two souls later, and we should check this place first. After that, we will go to check other places.”

”Hehe.” Nalan Yushu chuckled. ”You’re late, Elder Ye. My husband sent his other four clones to several other places, and they should have arrived there by now.”

Ye Futian, Nalan Wangzi, and Nalan Huanzi observed Zhang Xiaolong [3]. However, they couldn’t tell whether he was his real body or his clone, especially since all of them were completely identical.

”You guys don’t need to be confused by that, and this one is my third clone. The one who met Yao Qilin was my fifth clone, and he is in the labyrinth now.” The three wore curious looks, especially about Zhang Xiaolong [3]’s real body. ”My real body is in seclusion to help all my wives who have not yet broken through to the Five Celestial Realms. We’ve wasted a lot of time, so we might as well go in now and check the main tomb.”

All of them immediately followed behind Zhang Xiaolong [3], walking through the tomb area before entering the biggest tomb in the middle.

As soon as they entered the tomb, a stone gate immediately fell and sealed the entrance, causing some of them to become tense and nervous.

Unlike most tombs, they saw many stone beds in the room, with many human skeletons lying on them on both sides of the wall. Although they had been dead for a long time, and their flesh had long since disappeared, their skeletons were still intact, giving the place a terrifying atmosphere. In front of each stone bed, they could see a significant amount of damaged offering equipment.

Murong Mengying immediately hugged Zhang Xiaolong [3]’s arm. ”Husband, I have a bad feeling about this tomb.”

”Me too.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] then pointed in front of them. ”This area seems to be just the opening area, and the main area of this tomb is below there.”

”Can you open your gate here, husband?” Qian Shuang asked him, hugging his other arm.

”Let me try it.” Zhang Xiaolong [3] immediately asked Mei to open one, but the gate did not appear. ”I can’t open it, so we have no choice but to move forward, and we might find another way out there.”

”Let’s go!” Unlike Murong Mengying and Qian Shuang, Nalan Yushu was not bothered by those skeletons, and she looked excited instead.

”Why is she so excited? Is she impatient to devour the souls?” Murong Qianying asked, shaking her head.

Luo Yunxiao told her directly. ”Sister Yushu is still upset because Long Gui devoured most of the souls in the Endless Night Cavern earlier, so you shouldn’t be surprised if she’s so excited.”

”My sister is always impatient to devour wandering souls.” Nalan Wangzi immediately followed Nalan Yushu. ”Let’s go! We have to follow her.”
