Zhang Fei [5] stopped walking as soon as Yao Qilin landed behind him, but the darkness made it difficult for them to see each other. Despite this, the female beast could sense his presence due to her keen sense of smell. ”Who are you? How did you get in here without my knowledge with your cultivation still in the Celestial Lord Realm?”

”My name is Long Fei, and I entered this place before you arrived.” Yao Qilin raised an eyebrow because she didn’t remember that name being part of their entourage. ”I’m not part of your group, and I came to this dungeon with the Soul-Devouring Demon Race.”

Yao Qilin frowned and tried to grab Zhang Fei [5]’s shoulder, but he immediately shifted to the side, causing her to grab at empty air. ’Can he see my movements in a place this dark?’ ”Who is the group leader of the Soul-Devouring Demon Race?”

”Princess Nalan Wangzi and Prince Nalan Huanzi, but several elders also came to protect them.” Zhang Fei [5] casually answered.

”What—”

”How long are you going to wait there, young beast? Would you rather have some fun with that female qilin beast?” Yao Qilin frowned and looked toward the faint golden light in the distance. ”After being lonely in this place for so long, I finally have two guests, so I want you two to accompany me for a while.”

After Tian Taiyang said that, Zhang Fei [5] and Yao Qilin sensed a powerful aura enveloped over them, which was his soul power.

”Do you know who he is?”

”He said his name is Tian Taiyang, a member of the winged race and the second-in-command of the Golden Sun Clan.” Zhang Fei [5]’s answer shocked Yao Qilin. ”Even though I’m not as strong as you, I can sense that his soul is powerful; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to survive here for millions of years.”

Yao Qilin agreed with that and took out a black bone whip with blades on both ends. ”Let’s go there and meet him.”

”Are you sure?” Yao Qilin looked to the side even though she did not know Zhang Fei [5]’s exact location. ”If his soul power overcomes your soul power, he will take over your body, and you will be under his control for the rest of your life.”

Yao Qilin’s intentions wavered slightly after Zhang Fei [5] said that, and she had second thoughts about approaching Tian Taiyang. Moreover, she is an evil beast, and he is the soul of a winged race, making the two oppose each other. ”What about you? Are you thinking about meeting him even though you are much weaker than me?”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [5] softly laughed. ”Hey, many people say that your mythical evil beasts are very evil, but you’re not as bad as I imagined.”

Yao Qilin raised her eyebrows slightly. ”Aren’t you a mythical evil beast yourself? Although I can’t see your figure clearly, I can smell your dragon scent. Moreover, the evil stench from you is strong, and it is not inferior to Xie Heilong.”

”You’re right, I’m an evil dragon.” Zhang Fei [5] then walked forward. ”If you’re not worried that he will possess your body, you can follow me.”

”Hey! Wait for me!” Yao Qilin hurriedly followed behind Zhang Fei [5] by following his scent.

The more they walked forward, the clearer the golden light emitted by Tian Taiyang became. A while later, they arrived in front of him, and the area was quite bright even though the surrounding area was filled with darkness.

”A light within the darkness.” Zhang Fei [5] muttered as he looked at Tian Taiyang, but he was quite shocked because both his hands and feet were chained to the sides, as was his body.

”What kind of dragon are you?” Yao Qilin looked at Zhang Fei [5] after she could see his figure. ”There are many evil dragons in our Ten Thousand Beast Graves Domain, but I have never seen your kind before.”

”This universe is so vast, and I’m sure not all evil dragon races live in your domain, so it’s normal if you have never seen my kind before.” Yao Qilin was irritated and surprised by Zhang Fei [5]’s demeanor because he was still relaxed and not afraid of her, even though she was much stronger than him. ”In fact, I’m not a native of this realm, and I ascended about five years ago.”

”Oh.” Yao Qilin nodded slightly. ”I’ve never descended into the Three Mortal Realms, but I’ve heard there are many evil dragon races there. So, what is your dragon race?”

”Instead of discussing my dragon race, why don’t we talk about him?” Just like Zhang Fei [5], Yao Qilin was also confused by Tian Taiyang’s situation. ”How did you end up like this? Who imprisoned your soul here?”

”An ancient female named Guang Zhiyi imprisoned my soul here.” Tian Taiyang let out a soft sigh and recounted some past events. ”She was the guardian of the ancient races, and her duty was to maintain balance between the clans. My Golden Sun Clan has always been at odds with Yin Yue’s Silver Moon Clan, but our two clans had never engaged in a major, deadly battle before that day’s events.”

”What kind of event?”

”The event that caused the deadly disaster, which also destroyed our clans.” Zhang Fei [5] and Yao Qilin’s expressions turned serious after Tian Taiyang said that. ”The story is too long, and the incident was devastating for our two races, so I don’t want to waste time retelling everything. If you two are curious about that incident, you guys can touch my soul, and I will share everything with you.”

Zhang Fei [5] unhesitatingly approached Tian Taiyang and touched his soul. In a few moments, many memories flowed into his mind, but some of them shocked him. ’Feng Yao? So, Guang Zhiyi was her identity in the ancient era, huh? What was her reason for imprisoning this man’s soul here? Since he was imprisoned here, I figured he was one of the two souls I had to free to complete one of the quests. However, these chains are not simple, and I still don’t know her purpose for imprisoning him here.’

”Hey! What did you see?” Yao Qilin grabbed Zhang Fei [5]’s shoulder, bringing him out of his thoughts. He touched her forehead, sharing Tian Taiyang’s memories with her. ”Hmm?”

Yao Qilin closed her eyes and watched those memories, but her body trembled and subconsciously took a few steps back because some of them were too terrifying, especially the deadly disaster that destroyed the two clans.

Zhang Fei [5] was amused to see her reaction because she was only one step away from reaching the Celestial God Realm, but she was frightened by those memories. ”So, Guang Zhiyi imprisoned your soul here because you triggered the disaster, right?”

”Yes.” Tian Taiyang nodded at him. ”If only I had controlled my anger back then, the disaster would never have happened, and our two clans would still exist today. As punishment, she imprisoned my soul in this abyss, and she also imprisoned Yin Yue’s soul in her palace.”

Zhang Fei [5] nodded in understanding, satisfied that he had successfully found both targets of one of his quests. ”Did Guang Zhiyi say anything after she imprisoned your soul and Yin Yue’s?”

”She didn’t say anything to me.” Tian Taiyang’s answer confused Zhang Fei [5], as he believed that Feng Yao must have a special reason for doing that. ”Can you free my soul from this eternal loneliness? I have been imprisoned in this place for too long, and I want to rest forever.”

Zhang Fei [5] tried to contact Feng Yao from inside the abyss, but he couldn’t reach her, and he suspected it was because of the formations inside. ”I can’t help you at this time, especially since these chains are not ordinary ones. If I touch them, they will absorb my soul power. However, I will think of a way to set you free, and I will return again later.”

”Why do you want to free him? Wouldn’t it be easier if we absorbed his soul power?” Yao Qilin suddenly asked.

Zhang Fei [5] turned to her directly. ”Even though his soul has been imprisoned here for so long, his light element is still pure, and it will kill us. Even if we could do it, these chains would prevent us from doing so.”

”Hmm?” Yao Qilin tried to touch them a little, but they absorbed quite a lot of her soul power, forcing her to pull her hand back. ”Holy shit! I’ve never seen such artifacts before! I only touched them briefly, but they absorbed ten percent of my soul power! How can he survive for so long even though they continue to absorb his soul power?”

’Why is this woman so stupid?’ Zhang Fei [5] thought to himself. ”This man came from an ancient race, so you can’t compare his soul power with ours. Moreover, these chains didn’t absorb his soul power as quickly as they absorbed yours just now, and they absorbed it little by little.”
