Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1156: Bao Yunlai - Kong Mao

”How high is this mountain exactly, Senior? This floating plateau is almost touching the clouds, but there is still a mountain here.” Yan Jinwu asked Fei Yinglin.

”Over there.” Yan Jinwu and Sima Huiqing looked in the direction Fei Yinglin was pointing. ”The main hall, the Blossoming Hall, and the Harmonious Chamber are located right above the foot of the mountain. The Lunar Garden and the Celestial Lake are on the right side and behind this mountain, and this area is the area leading to the residence of the disciples, starting from the outer, inner, core, and special disciples.”

”Special disciples?” Both Yan Jinwu and Sima Huiqing were confused by that, especially since core rank disciples were the upper limit in the Three Mortal Realms.

Fei Yinglin explained it directly. ”There are a total of ten special disciples, including You Shiyan and me. Actually, our positions are almost on par with the elders, like Elder Mei Ruyan and the others. However, since our cultivation is still at the Celestial Emperor Realm, we still hold the status of disciples, and we will become elders once we break through to the Celestial Venerable Realm.”

”So, cultivators at the Celestial Lord Realm are outer disciples, cultivators at the Celestial King Realm are inner disciples, and core disciples are those who have reached the Celestial Emperor Realm, right?” Sima Huiqing asked.

”Yes.” Fei Yinglin nodded. ”Core disciples are divided into two groups: disciples who come from ordinary clans and prestigious clans. Even though we no longer have any relations with them, You Shiyan and I come from prestigious clans, and there are still eight others on the top of the mountain. Let’s climb; I will show those areas to the two of you, especially since you guys will live here in the future.”

As they walked beside Fei Yinglin, both women looked around at the area around them. Soon, they arrived at the area designated for the outer disciples, where there were many luxurious buildings in long rows, with a yard large enough for them to do their activities. They were quite amazed by it, especially since only core disciples could enjoy such luxury in the Three Mortal Realms.

Even so, both women recognized the significant difference in strength between the cultivators of the two realms; the cultivators in the Paradise Realm had greatly surpassed those in the Three Mortal Realms, particularly as their cultivation had reached the Five Celestial Realms.

Yan Jinwu then asked. ”How many disciples are there in this sect, Senior? How big is the residence area of these outer disciples?”

”There are 1,600 female disciples and 1,400 male disciples in this sect. They are divided into 1,500 outer disciples, 1,000 inner disciples, 490 core disciples, and 10 special disciples.” Fei Yinglin then pointed in several directions. ”From this area all the way around this mountain is the outer disciple area, and the gate above is the border to the inner disciple area. Inner disciples can ask outer disciples for help with their daily chores, and the same also applies to core disciples, but they are prohibited from dual cultivating with disciples below their rank to maintain balance between them.”

”That’s weird.” Both women muttered. ”In the Three Mortal Realms, it is not a problem for outer, inner, and core disciples to dual cultivate with anyone. Back when he was still living in the lower realm, our husband dual cultivated not only with inner or core disciples, but he also dual cultivated with a vice sect master and a few elders.”

Fei Yinglin shook her head at them. ”Actually, those ordinary dual cultivation sects are not much different from your husband’s former sect, and they are free to dual cultivate with everyone as long as they agree. However, such things are strictly prohibited by all supreme sects, including our sect.”

”So, those who haven’t reached the Five Celestial Realms will join those sects?”

Fei Yinglin gave them a light nod. ”Only those who have broken through to the Five Celestial Realms can join supreme sects. Those whose cultivation is still in the Seven Divine Realms will join first-grade sects, and those who have not yet reached that stage will join second-grade sects. The third-grade sects are more like academies for juniors, who are just starting their cultivation path.”

After that, Fei Yinglin led them to the inner disciples’ area, which was slightly more luxurious than the core disciples’ area. However, the area was much smaller, especially since the mountain got narrower as they climbed.

Since there are more female disciples than male disciples, Yan Jinwu and Sima Huiqing saw many lily couples there. They exchanged glances with each other before laughing. ’If he knew there were many lilies in this sect, he would likely approach them later.’

Before long, they arrived at the core disciples’ area, which was far more luxurious than the previous two areas. Although the houses in the area weren’t particularly large, each disciple had their own residence. However, the area was hushed because the core disciples mostly left the sect on missions, and they only stayed in the sect when they were resting and breaking through.

They didn’t stay in that area for too long, and Fei Yinglin led them to the area designated for special disciples. Since there were only ten of them, the area looked much more spacious with ten large luxury houses, which were built quite far from each other.

”Oh? Who are these two women, Yinglin? Why did you bring outside disciples like them to this area?” A young man with shoulder-length hair and a tall, thin figure asked as he appeared in front of them. However, he was not a human male but a male beast, especially since he had two eyes and ears that were similar to a cat’s eyes and ears, and he also had a black tail snaking behind his hip.

Fei Yinglin pulled the two women behind her before answering him. ”Bao Yunlai, you must not approach or seduce them, especially since they are the wives of our new elder.”

”Oh?” Bao Yunlai was momentarily surprised. ”I’ve heard about our new elder, but they said his cultivation is still at the 1-Sun Celestial Lord Realm, which confused me. What was Sect Master Qing’s reason for appointing him to be our elder? Moreover, I heard she gave him free rein to order the other elders, and the construction below the mountain was his idea.”

”You must not underestimate our husband, especially since he is different from other cultivators, including you.” Bao Yunlai looked at Yao Jinwu with a frown, but his body trembled slightly when she released her golden crow aura. ”You should have paid attention to my identity, right?”

Bao Yunlai nodded with a serious expression. ”You are a Golden Crow beast, right?”

Upon hearing that, Fei Yinglin looked back at Yan Jinwu, who smiled at her. ”That’s right, I am a Golden Crow, and my beast rank is higher than a Star Shadow Leopard like you.”

”Naturally, your beast rank is higher than mine because you are a mythical beast, and I am only a divine beast.” Bao Yunlai then asked. ”Where is your husband? Is he also a beast? Why isn’t he with the three of you?”

”Our husband is a beast, a nine-tailed fox to be precise.” Sima Huiqing’s revelation shocked both Bao Yunlai and Fei Yinglin. ”He is dual cultivating with Sister Qiu’er at Celestial Lake now.”

Bao Yunlai was stunned for a moment before turning to Fei Yingling, asking for confirmation. ”Sister Huiqing didn’t lie to you, and Zhang Fei [5] is indeed dual cultivating with Sect Master Qing there. Since you already know their relationship, you should already understand his status in our sect. He is not just an elder, and he will become the leader of this sect one day.”

”I didn’t expect Sect Master Qing to choose him as her partner.” Bao Yunlai muttered under his breath. ”So, is it true that they will turn this sect into a universal sect?”

Fei Yinglin responded with a shake of her head. ”Do you still have to ask about that? Haven’t you seen that the people below have started to open up new lands? Our sect is too weak compared to the other dual cultivation sect, and Sect Master Qing chose to do so because he believed that Zhang Fei [5]’s abilities would help us become better and stronger.”

”What kind of abilities does he have?” Bao Yunlai asked curiously.

”Is a god-rank alchemist enough?” Bao Yunlai stared at Yan Jinwu in disbelief, especially since Zhang Fei’s cultivation was too low to achieve such a feat. ”Our husband is also a god-rank sword master, and he also masters several other things. If you don’t believe me, you can try sparring with him in swordsmanship. Once the construction below is complete, the sword maniac, Jian Kuang, will come here to spar with him.”

A woman suddenly appeared behind Bao Yunlai and hugged him. ”What are you talking about with them, darling? Are you thinking about seducing them?”

The woman’s figure was small and not that tall, and her face was quite fierce. She has short, curly black hair. Two cat ears twitched above her head, and her black eyes were like cat pupils, decorated by thick eyebrows. She wore a tight black leather suit that was quite revealing on top, showing off her smooth chest, cleavage, and nicely defined curves.

Bao Yunlai shook his head. ”They are the wives of our new elder, Kong Mao.”
