Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1143: Sky-Severing Sword Spirit

”Haha.” Feng Yao laughed softly as the Sky-Severing Sword hovered in front of her. Instead of grabbing the sword, she flicked her fingers and threw it back. ”You are indeed one of the seven profound treasures, but you are not worthy of being by my side. Furthermore, I am not a weapon wielder, and my Ling’er is more powerful than a piece of metal like you, so you can choose someone else to be your master.”

Puyang Shangren, Jian Kuang, and the other cultivators looked at Feng Yao with bitter smiles on their faces. All of them eagerly wanted to obtain the sword, but she rejected it and referred to it as merely a piece of metal.

The Sky-Severing Sword returned to Feng Yao before shining brightly, dazzling the eyes of those cultivators for a while. Soon, a teenage man with waist-length white hair emerged from within the sword, and he looked at Feng Yao in annoyance. He chose her as his master, but she blatantly rejected him. ”Why are you rejecting me? No one here is worthy of being my master.”

”Hahaha!” Feng Yao responded with a loud laugh. ”You may think they don’t deserve to be your master, but as I said before, you don’t deserve to be with me. Your choice is only one of them, and you will never find your master if you don’t choose one of them today.”

”You—”

”Shut up, rusty metal!” Huo Ling immediately moved behind the sword and grabbed the hilt. ”If you dare force my master to accept you, I will burn you alive, and this sword will disappear from the list of the seven profound treasures forever.”

The male sword spirit turned back to Huo Ling and wanted to yell at her, but his body became scorching as soon as she used the Eternal Flame to burn him. ”Ahhh! No! Stop! Don’t burn me!”

”Then, shut the fuck up and choose one of them as your master!” Huo Ling fiercely glared at the sword spirit.

The male sword spirit nodded vigorously. ”But who should I choose to be my master, Big Sis? Many of them are indeed god-ranked sword masters, but they are just useless people, and they are not worthy to wield me!”

Jian Kuang and the other sword masters’ faces darkened, especially since most of them had reputations and were respected in the Paradise Realm; instead, the male sword spirit considered them useless.

”Him.” Huo Ling pointed at Zhang Fei [5]. ”I never liked him, but I have to admit that he is your best choice.”

”Hmm?” The male sword spirit looked at Zhang Fei [5] and scowled. ”Tch! He is indeed a god-rank sword master, but he is too weak and immature, so I don’t want to be his sword!”

Zhang Fei [5] shook his head slightly before summoning the demon extermination sword, and the twin female sword spirits immediately came out of the sword.

Jian Kuang and the other sword masters briefly looked at the demon extermination sword, but none of them were interested in it due to its low grade, and it could not be compared with the Sky-Severing Sword at all. On the other hand, the twin female sword spirits piqued their curiosity because twin spirits were supposed to be weak, with their strength divided in half. However, they could see that the strength of the two was not divided, and each of them was extremely powerful. Additionally, the twin spirits clearly possess two distinct elements: light and darkness, which should not be possible.

In contrast to the others, Ye Mingran, Qi Qingxiu, and Nalan Shizhe furrowed their brows as they gazed at the demon extermination sword, particularly because it evoked unsettling feelings in them, especially the presence of Jian Guang’an with her light element.

”You say I’m weak and immature, but you’re no different from a snooty brat compared to my two spirit wives. You’ve lived longer than them, but your soul power is too weak compared to theirs.” The male sword spirit wanted to refute him, but Zhang Fei [5] swiftly released his soul domain and suppressed his soul, which shocked not only the male sword spirit but also the audience. ”You have had no master for too long, and your soul has weakened because you have been confined within the Sky-Severing Sword. The seven profound treasures are indeed extraordinary, but not with the current Sky-Severing Sword, and you are its weakness. As long as you’re picky about your master, you’ll never succeed in finding one, and you’ll continue to weaken. In the end, the sword will become nothing more than a piece of sword junk, and its true power will never be revealed.”

The male sword spirit opened his mouth to refute Zhang Fei [5], but no words came out of his mouth. Instead, he lowered his face and started sobbing, perplexing all of them.

Zhang Fei [5] turned to Feng Yao, who nodded in understanding and snapped her fingers. In that instant, everyone in the building fell unconscious, except for Puyang Shangren and those closest to them.

Puyang Shangren was quite shocked by Feng Yao’s actions, but then Zhang Fei [5] spoke to the male sword spirit again. ”I already have my sword and my twin spirit wives, and I’m satisfied with them. Moreover, I can still upgrade my sword two more times, and it won’t be inferior to the Sky-Severing Sword by then, so it doesn’t matter to me if you’re willing to become my sword. However, I have many sword masters by my side, and I can bring them here if you’re willing to give them a chance. What do you think about that?”

”Hmm?” The male sword spirit looked at Zhang Fei [5] while thinking. ”Please bring them here, and I will see if any of them are suitable to be my master.”

”Sure.” Zhang Fei [5] immediately opened the portal to the training space, leaving Puyang Shangren shocked. ”Wait a moment.”

The male sword master nodded at him. ”Alright.”

’Where does this portal connect to?’ Puyang Shangren inwardly wondered as he looked at Liu Qingyu, who was walking out while leading several others, such as Xu Ling’er, Zhang Lingxue, Xian Xianqin, Zhou Shenxin, and several other women who were sword masters. ’Who are these women? Where did they come from?’

Zhang Fei [5] immediately spoke again. ”They are my wives, and you should be able to feel the power of their sword Qi.”

”Huh?” The male sword spirit and Puyang Shangren were shocked to hear that. ”Are these women really your wives?”

”Why don’t you try to sense my Yang Qi inside their bodies?” The male sword spirit and Puyang Shangren immediately did so, and they discovered Zhang Fei [5]’s Yang Qi was rich and thick within their bodies. ”There are many of them, so you can test them now.”

”Yeah.” The male spirit sword brought the Sky-Severing Sword to Liu Qingyu first. ”Grab the hilt, and I will check your worthiness to be my master.”

Liu Qingyu nodded and grabbed the hilt, but her head became heavy, just as Han Ling and the other sword masters had experienced.

Zhang Fei [5] teleported behind Liu Qingyu and supported her as soon as she staggered backwards, and the Sky-Severing Sword slipped from her grasp. ”Does this mean I failed, husband?”

”You are interesting, but you are still not worthy of my master.” Liu Qingyu nodded to the male sword spirit, who immediately brought the sword before Xian Xianqin. ”I can tell that you are more skilled than her in swordsmanship, but I still have to test you to determine your worthiness.”

Xian Xianqin nodded, calmed her mind, and grabbed the sword hilt. Just like Liu Qingyu, she also felt her head grow heavy as countless memories flooded into her mind, weighing heavily on her mental strength.

Despite this, Xian Xianqin managed to endure it for quite some time, but she still failed in the end, disappointing her. ”I failed, husband.”

”It’s okay.” Zhang Fei [5] supported her and rubbed her back. ”After all, the Sky-Severing Sword is one of the seven profound treasures, and not everyone can wield it.”

”Uhm.” Xian Xianqin nodded slightly.

Thereafter, the male sword spirit tested Zhou Shenxin and several other women, but none of them were worthy of becoming masters of the Sky-Severing Sword.

The male sword spirit then brought the Sky-Severing Sword before the final woman, who was none other than Xu Ling’er. ”I felt something strange hidden in you, and I felt familiar with it, but I had a hard time recognizing it because it was too vague.”

”Xu Ling’er.” Xu Ling’er looked at Tian Huangjin, who had already taken out the Holy Radiance Sword, confusing her race members. ”Use this first.”

Xu Ling’er caught the sword as soon as Tian Huangjin threw it at her, and a golden aura quickly enveloped her body. Within a few minutes, the golden aura disappeared, and she had transformed into her past figure, causing the jaws of the members of the winged race to drop.

The male sword spirit and Puyang Shangren were surprised by Xu Ling’er’s transformation, as she had previously appeared to be an ordinary human; however, she suddenly transformed into a member of a winged race, and her aura was more soothing than that of Tian Huangjin and the others.

”Hey, Huangjin! Is she really who I think she is?” A female winged race asked.

Tia Huangjin nodded at her. ”You are right, Tian Zhiling. She is the reincarnation of our first ancestor, Tian Huangjin.”
