Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1110: Create A New Pill

Luo Lianjin nodded in satisfaction after Zhang Fei [5] extracted the essence of the five herbs, but he raised an eyebrow when he took out two other herbs. ’Phoenix Plume Herb and Crimson Feather Grass? What does he want to do with those two ingredients? Does he want to mix them with the other ingredients?’

When Luo Lianjin thought that, Zhang Fei [5] quickly extracted the essence of the Phoenix Plume Herb and the Crimson Feather Grass. ’So fast! He extracted their essence without even thinking for a second, as if he had done it too many times! Who exactly is Feng Yao? How did she teach this kid? Not only is his speed in processing the ingredients so fast, but his control over Qi is also surprising. His flames don’t waver in the slightest, even though he also has to maintain his fire domain. Even a senior alchemist like me would experience a slight waver in my flames if I prepared all of them at once while maintaining my domain.’

Zhang Fei [5] observed the essence of the seven herbs for a while before taking out another herb, which confused Luo Lianjin further. ’All these herbs are good, but the effect will be even more significant if I add the essence of the Heaven’s Cry Orchid herb to the mixture.’

Within seconds, Zhang Fei [5] had already extracted the essence of the herb. Thereafter, he combined the essence of all the herbs into one, and he used two different flames to mix them together.

On the side of the room, Luo Lianjin supported his chin with his hand, and his eyes were fully focused on those herb essences. ’Will he really succeed in concocting five superior-grade pills in one concoction? Let’s wait and see what kind of pill he will produce.’

Three hours later, Luo Lianjin’s nose twitched, smelling the scent of the pills that filled the room, indicating that Zhang Fei [5]’s pills were almost fully formed.

A while later, Zhang Fei [5] pulled his fire element back and canceled his fire domain. The five pills that floated before him caused Luo Lianjin to fall into a daze.

Even without looking closely, Luo Lianjin could already tell that the five pills were of superior grade and ranked at level 10, which meant Zhang Fei [5]’s alchemist rank was equivalent to his.

Luo Lianjin approached Zhang Fei [5], took one of the pills, and swallowed it directly. He closed his eyes, dissolved the pill with his qi, and spread it throughout his body. ”What kind of Pill is this? It not only has a healing effect, but it also restores Qi.”

”I don’t have a name for this pill yet.” Zhang Fei [5] swallowed one pill to learn its exact effects. ”Let’s just call it the Phoenix Restoration Pill, especially since I added the Phoenix Plume Herb to it.”

”The five herbs I gave you earlier are indeed for concocting healing pills, and their effects are several levels higher than ordinary pills. The Phoenix Plume Herb and the Crimson Feather Grass further enhance the effects, and the restorative effect should come from the Heaven’s Cry Orchid herb.” Luo Lianjin then opened his eyes and looked at Zhang Fei [5] in admiration. ”I admire you, young man. You are still in your early forties, but you have already reached the god rank in alchemy. I don’t know how Feng Yao trained you, but she has already given birth to a monster in alchemy. Honestly, I want you to join this sect, and we can both help each other improve our abilities in alchemy. Regrettably, it’s impossible because you are an expert dual cultivator, especially with the many types of Yin Qi in your body.”

’This old man isn’t bad.’ Zhang Fei [5] nodded at him. ”Senior, I have been a dual cultivator since I first stepped onto the path of cultivation, and I will always be one for the rest of my life. As for alchemy, I learned it because I lacked strong backers and sufficient resources. Fortunately, I met my master, and she taught me a lot about alchemy, which gave me a great opportunity to improve myself.”

”Alchemy will always play an important role in our cultivation, so your decision to become an alchemist in addition to a dual cultivator is the best.” Luo Lianjin grabbed his arms. ”Judging from your body stature, you are also a body cultivator, right? Although I am not a dual cultivator like you, I am an experienced man. Naturally, I understand that dual cultivation requires extraordinary physique and stamina, and you can only get both through the body cultivation path.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [5] laughed at that. ”I’m a body cultivator, but my body cultivation level is not as high as my alchemy.”

”What’s your name? This old man is Luo Lianjin.”

”Zhang Fei.”

”Hmm?” Luo Lianjin raised his eyebrows. ”Do you—”

”No.” Zhang Fei [5] immediately denied. ”Senior Luo, I already told you that I only recently ascended to this realm, so I have nothing to do with the Zhang Clan of the Starfall Martial Domain.”

Luo Lianjin nodded in understanding. ”Wait here for a while, and I will make your alchemy token first.”

”Thank you, Senior.”

Not long after Luo Lianjin went to the back room to make his alchemy token, Zhang Fei [5] saw another old man bringing a young man and a young woman into the room. ”Who are you, young man? What are you doing here?”

The young man and the young woman also looked at Zhang Fei [5], but their gazes were filled with disdain, mainly because of his cultivation.

Zhang Fei [5] glanced briefly at the two of them while he read their data on the blue screen. ’Jiao Meili and Jiao Moli, huh? Their cultivation is at the 3-Sun Celestial Emperor Realm.’ ”Senior, I just finished my alchemy test, and Senior Lianjin is making my alchemy token in the back.”

”Oh?” The old man was momentarily surprised before sniffing his scent. ”How many types of herbs have you used before?”

Zhang Fei [5] shook his head in response. ”I’ve never counted their types, but I think there should be thousands of different types of herbs.”

”You are truly a rare young man.” The old man spoke, nodding his head. ”I can smell at least two thousand types of herbs from your body, but I’m sure it’s more than that. Since my senior is making your alchemy token, you can wait here and watch these two alchemists from the Jiao Clan undergo their tests.”

”Yes, Senior.” Zhang Fei [5] walked to the side of the room, ignoring Jiao Meili and Jiao Moli’s sharp gazes.

The old man immediately gave Jiao Meili and Jiao Moli some pointers, especially regarding the tests. Unlike Zhang Fei [5], the old man gave them five different tests, which made both of them visibly annoyed.

Zhang Fei [5] leaned against the wall, crossed his arms in front of his chest, and watched the two alchemists. ’Their Jiao Clan should be one of the renowned clans in this realm, and their elders pamper them too much; otherwise, they wouldn’t look down on me like that.’

Sometime later, Luo Lianjin had returned to Zhang Fei [5] and handed him the alchemy token, which didn’t escape the attention of the old man, who was supervising Jiao Meili and Jiao Moli in their test. ’What the fuck? That kid is a god-rank alchemist? How could he have reached that stage in just forty years?’

”Thank you, Senior.” Zhang Fei [5] immediately stored the token. ”Since everything is finished, I will go to other sectors to have a look, Senior.”

Luo Lianjin nodded at him. ”Young man, I hope you are willing to come to the sect more often, and we will have a deeper discussion about alchemy.”

”Absolutely! I will often come to you to discuss alchemy, Senior.” Zhang Fei [5]’s answer satisfied Luo Lianjin.

After Zhang Fei [5] left, the old man approached Luo Lianjin. ”Senior Luo, how is it possible for such a young man to have already reached god rank?”

Naturally, Jiao Moli and Jiao Meili could hear the old man’s question, which shocked them and disrupted their concentration. Both of them screamed in their minds. ’What the hell? Was the young man just now really a god-rank alchemist?’

”Haha.” Luo Lianjin laughed and patted his shoulder. ”Xuan Yun, one’s alchemy rank has nothing to do with age, but one’s talent plays a more important role in it. Even our master managed to reach the god-rank in just thirty years, remember? I asked that young man to concoct a pill using random ingredients, and I didn’t give him the recipe to concoct it, but he managed to concoct five superior-grade and rank 10 Phoenix Restoration Pills in one furnace.”

”Phoenix Restoration Pill?”

Luo Lianjin nodded. ”Of course, you’ve never heard the name of that pill before, especially since that young man created it on the spot. Thus, you should already understand his high talent in alchemy, right?”

”Why don’t you recruit him into our sect, Senior?”

Luo Lianjin shook his head. ”Even though his talent in alchemy is extraordinary, he is primarily a dual cultivator, so this sect isn’t suitable for him. If my guess is correct, he will go to the Twin Flames Main Domain soon, but I don’t know which dual cultivation sect he will choose. You should monitor these two young alchemists, and I will return to my private quarters now.”

”Yes, Senior.”
