Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1134: Abyssal Demon Heart

”Is there something you need from me, Empress Huo?” Puyang Shangren asked.

”None of your items catch my eye.” Feng Yao pushed Zhang Fei [5] forward. ”Instead, he needs some demon items, and I think you have them.”

Puyang Shangren looked at Zhang Fei [5] in confusion, especially since he couldn’t sense any demon aura from him, so he thought that demon items should be useless to him. ”Why do you need demon items? And what items do you need?”

”I need the Abyssal Demon Heart, the Infernal Blood Core, the Demon Essence Drop, the Demon Soul Elixir, and the Demon Ritual Sigil.” Puyang Shangren became even more confused after Zhang Fei [5] mentioned them. ”Your guess is correct; I need them for my demon rank to break through to the advanced demon ranks.”

”Your demon rank?” Zhang Fei [5] transformed into his demon form, shocking Puyang Shangren a bit. Even the Ancient Leiyu Tianlu flew off his shoulders, perching above the cabinet, and staring at him. ”How did you suddenly become a demon? I couldn’t sense any demon aura from you before, and I could sense it after you transformed into one. Moreover, your demon form is a lust demon, but I’ve never encountered one with nine tails.”

Zhang Fei [5] turned to Feng Yao, who nodded to him. He then transformed into his complete nine-tailed heavenly fox form, shocking Puyang Shangren once again.

The Ancient Leiyu Tianlu immediately flew down, circled Zhang Fei [5], and sniffed his beast scent. He became excited after sniffing his scent, and he made low noises as if he was telling his master something.

Puyang Shangren nodded to his beast. ”Tianlu told me that you are an authentic fox beast, but we have never seen your fox race before.”

”My fox race is the Heavenly Fox Race, and it only exists in the Three Mortal Realms. As for the reason I can have three identities, it happened by accident.” Puyang Shangren did not believe Zhang Fei [5] so easily, and he asked Feng Yao for confirmation, who immediately told him the fact. ”Do you have them, Senior?”

Puyang Shangren didn’t answer Zhang Fei [5], and he took another wooden box from his storage ring before activating it. Dozens of demon items emerged from it, and he retrieved a black heart that continued to beat by itself. ”Out of the five demon items you desire, I only have this Abyssal Demon Heart. However, I won’t sell it to you if you don’t have my token, and you have to take the tests to get one.”

”Here.” Zhang Fei [5] showed the golden token that he got from the system quest. ”I got it at the Star Tower, but I didn’t know what it was for until Feng Yao told me about you, and I’ve kept it ever since.”

Puyang Shangren nodded slightly. ”I don’t care where or how you got my token, but since you already have one, you don’t need to take the tests, and you can buy this heart. However, I don’t need jewels, and you can exchange this heart for something of equivalent value.”

”Hmm?” Zhang Fei [5] took his basic pills and showed them to him. ”Is the price of these pills equivalent to the heart?”

Puyang Shangren took one of the pills and looked closer. ”A superior-grade Essence Qi Pill that can speed up our Qi absorption rate by two times faster, huh? I didn’t expect you to be able to concoct so many superior-grade pills, but your basic pills are worth nothing in my realm, so I can’t accept this exchange.”

”Are these pills really worthless in your realm, senior?”

Puyang Shangren looked over all his items before taking a bottle, and he showed the pill inside to Zhang Fei [5]. ”This is a superior-grade Qi Origin Gathering Pill, and it will increase our Qi absorption rate by ten times.”

”Ten times!” Zhang Fei [5] let out a low cry. ”How much does this pill cost in your realm, Senior?”

”One hundred million golden jewels.” Puyang Shangren’s answer almost caused Zhang Fei [5] to fall, as the price of the pill was simply too sky-high.

”Hehe.” Feng Yao chuckled and took out a piece of paper. She wrote a few things before handing it to Zhang Fei [5]. ”That’s the recipe for concocting the Qi Origin Gathering Pill, so you don’t need to buy the pill and concoct it yourself. You can find the ingredients in this realm, and you can ask Jin Nanqing for help in obtaining them.”

Zhang Fei [5] excitedly read the list of ingredients in the paper. On the other hand, Puyang Shangren looked annoyed, especially after he saw the mischievous smile on Feng Yao’s face.

After he finished reading everything, Zhang Fei [5] put away the paper and took out a pill. ”Senior, I have many kinds of pills, but none are more valuable than this one.”

”What kind of pill is this?” Puyang Shangren asked, bending forward and looking at the pill.

Zhang Fei [5] confidently explained to him directly. ”If you take this Beauty Restoring Pill, you will regain your youth.”

”Oh?” Puyang Shangren was surprised and seemed interested in the pill. ”This pill is quite interesting, and there’s no such pill in my realm. Did you concoct it yourself?”

”She taught me to concoct it.” Zhang Fei [5] turned to Feng Yao. ”In fact, she is my alchemy master in name, and she taught me a lot about alchemy.”

Feng Yao glared at Zhang Fei [5]. ”He did learn alchemy from me, but I only taught him the basics. He accomplished the rest on his own by relying on his talent, and he managed to reach the god rank in just eight years.”

”I see.” Puyang Shangren nodded slightly. ”Reaching the god rank is no simple matter, and if you did achieve it in eight years, it proves your talent in alchemy is indeed extraordinary. However, how can I know that the effect of your Beauty Restoring Pill is real?”

Zhang Fei [5] smiled at him. ”Whether the effect of my pill is real or not, I want to know first whether it is equivalent to the Abyssal Demon Heart or not. If you think the two are equivalent, you can swallow my pill to prove its effect.”

”If the effect is real, this pill is equivalent to two Abyssal Demon Hearts. If the result is according to your words, I will give this heart to you, and you can choose my other items to pay it off.” Puyang Shangren swallowed the pill as soon as Zhang Fei [5] agreed, but he would have to wait a while to see the results. ”Hmm? How long will it take to take effect?”

Zhang Fei [5] shook his head. ”Some people need a few minutes, and some need a few hours.”

”Do you sell such a precious pill to the public?”

”You’re wrong about that, Senior. I never sell this pill to the public, and I only give it to those closest to me.” Puyang Shangren nodded understandingly at Zhang Fei [5]. ”However, the effect of my Beauty Restoring Pill isn’t permanent, and you’ll age again after a few hundred years. If you want a permanent effect, I have another pill, whose effect complements that pill.”

’This kid is really cunning! He deliberately didn’t take out the second pill from the start, and he mentioned it after I swallowed the first one! If the effect of the first pill is real, I have no other choice but to buy the second pill.’ Puyang Shangren inwardly released a heavy sigh. ”What’s your second pill?”

”As I said before, the effects of both pills complement each other, and you will never age again by taking this Youthful Retaining Pill.” Puyang Shangren was frozen in his spot, staring at him in shock. The Ancient Leiyu Tianlu flew before Zhang Fei [5] with its mouth open. ”Haha! You should ask your master first, Senior Tianlu. If he allows you, I will give these two pills to you.”

The Ancient Leiyu Tianlu turned to Puyang Shangren with glassy eyes, begging him to buy him Zhang Fei [5]’s two pills, leaving him to sigh. ”Give him the pills, little boy.”

The Ancient Leiyu Tianlu was overjoyed upon hearing that, and he opened his mouth to Zhang Fei [5], who immediately threw the two pills into his mouth.

Zhang Fei [5] also gave the Youthful Retaining Pill to Puyang Shangren after he asked for it, and he waited for the two pills to take effect while examining the other items in front of them.

Mei suddenly spoke to him. [Master, take a look at that silver sword; it should be one of the seven profound treasures, the Sky-Severing Sword.]

”Hmm?” Zhang Fei [5] pointed at the sword. ”Senior, is this sword what I think it is?”

”That sword is indeed one of the seven profound treasures, the Sky-Severing Sword.” Feng Yao then asked Puyang Shangren. ”Did you bring that sword here to auction?”

Puyang Shangren nodded before explaining. ”My great-grandfather discovered the Sky-Severing Sword in the Holy Sword Graveyard decades ago. In fact, it asked him to take it out of there, and it said that its destined master had already appeared. Several people tried to unsheathe it before, but no one met its criteria. Therefore, he asked me to bring it to auction this time in the hope that it would meet its master, but I’m not sure there’s anyone worthy in this realm.”
