Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1128: Evil Beast Races

”How did you manage to check such a distance? If I recall correctly, the third portal should be 5,000 miles to the southwest.”

Zhang Fei [5] didn’t answer Qing Qiu’er; instead, he took out the Demon Eye’s orb and flew it southwest at full speed. Along the way, he used the orb to monitor the other areas, and he saw all those groups of cultivators fighting with those demons, with many of them dying at the hands of those heretics.

Zhang Fei [5] contacted Hun Di and all his acquaintances, who had joined the sects of the Empyrean Main Domain, instructing them to stay away from the southwest area and go to his location as soon as possible.

Zhang Fei [5] took out the memory extractor and activated it immediately, drawing the attention of Qing Qiu’er and the others to the screen that appeared in front of them.

Feng Yao and Huo Ling suddenly appeared on both sides of Zhang Fei [5] and looked at the screen before frowning. ”The situation in this domain has become even more chaotic with the appearance of those nine half-step demon gods, especially since their cultivation has already reached the 1-Sun Celestial Venerable Realm.”

”Those demons are indeed troublesome, but those evil beasts in the southwest are more dangerous.” After Zhang Fei [5] said that, Feng Yao and Huo Ling scanned the area with their senses. ”What do you two think about those beasts?”

”I can kill them in a second.” Huo Ling was the first to answer.

Feng Yao seriously observed the beasts. ”Taotie and the others didn’t hold back in sending their strongest subordinates, and many of them were mythical-rank beasts with cultivation at the 3-Sun Celestial Venerable Realm.”

”Do they have subordinates with cultivation at the Celestial God Realm?” Zhang Fei [5] asked as he checked the data about those evil beasts.

Feng Yao shook her head at Zhang Fei [5]. ”Not many cultivators from all races have reached that stage, so I’m sure they don’t have subordinates at that stage. However, the cultivation of Taotie, Taowu, Qiong Qi, and Hundun has reached that stage.”

”What do you think was their real reason for invading this domain with such enormous force? Are there many valuable treasures here?” Zhang Fei [5] asked her again.

Feng Yao considered several options first. ”As I told you back then, this domain is much older than all the domains in this realm. There are many treasures buried in this domain, relics of the ancients. However, they wouldn’t send massive armies just to search for those treasures; instead, they’re targeting the mysterious merchant.”

”The mysterious merchant?” Zhang Fei [5] and the others looked at Feng Yao in surprise.

”Hehe.” Feng Yao chuckled at their reactions. ”The mysterious merchant is simply too mysterious, and his strength is beyond their league. Back then, Taotie and the others attacked him, and he defeated them with just one move. Long Wuzhao is powerful, but he wouldn’t be able to defeat them with one move, so you should already know how strong he is.”

Qing Qiu’er then asked her. ”Is the mysterious merchant part of the ancients? If that’s true, the ancients should still be alive now, right?”

”The mysterious merchant is indeed one of the ancients, and there are many of them still alive today.” Feng Yao’s answer shocked Qing Qiu’er and You Feiling. ”I won’t say anything about them for now, and you guys will meet them in the future. In fact, there are several ancients sleeping in this domain, and one of them is the true ancestor of the Xuanyuan Clan.”

”Huh?” Qing Qiu’er was surprised again. ”So, the Xuanyuan Clan in this domain are descendants of the ancients? Why do people say that they are so weak?”

Huo Ling stared at Qing Qiu’er, furrowing her brows. ”Weak? The Xuanyuan Clan can wipe out all the cultivators in the Paradise Realm, let alone you and your puny sect.”

”Hey! Why are you insulting me?” Qing Qiu’er protested to her directly. ”I’ve never fought them before, and I’m not saying they’re weak, but other people who have fought them say they’re weak.”

”Humph!” Huo Ling snorted and looked southwest again.

Feng Yao could only shake her head and tell Qing Qiu’er, ”People considered the Xuanyuan Clan weak because they’ve never witnessed their true strength and abilities before, mainly because the Eternal Flame disappeared from this domain. Once Ling’er activates the altar, their strength will return, and the people in this domain will realize that their opinion of the clan members was wrong.”

”Why didn’t she immediately activate the altar? If—”

”Shut up!” Huo Ling snapped at her. ”If you dare interfere in my business, I will roast you alive straight away!”

’Tch! Hot-tempered woman!’ Zhang Fei [5] gave a signal to Qing Qiu’er not to annoy Huo Ling, forcing her to shut her mouth and look at the screen again.

”Shall we move, Master?”

Feng Yao shook her head in response. ”The fate of these cultivators is none of our business, so we will not make a move for now. However, if those demons and evil beasts dare to attack the Xuanyuan Clan and the other native clans of this domain, we will eliminate them directly.”

”I see.” Huo Ling then expanded her deep red flame sphere several miles further.

Sometime later, the Demon Orb’s Eye had arrived in the southwest area, and they could see that those evil beasts continued to emerge from the portal in that area.

”Hey! What kind of beast is that?” You Feiling pointed at one of the black beasts that appeared on the screen.

”That’s a dark Qilin, right?”

”Just like Feng Yichen, those four evil beasts kidnapped several other beasts of various races, and they turned them into darkness beasts like them.” Feng Yao then pointed at several other beasts on the screen. ”Three-Eyed Dark Dragon, Corpse Feather Roc, Shadow Hou Monarch, Blood Pixiu, One-Horned Dark Bai Ze, and several other mythical beasts. Although they are not as strong as Taotie and the others, all of them are powerful enough to wipe out these cultivators. If these people were not aware of their arrival, the casualties would be enormous.”

”Aren’t we going to warn them?” Zhang Fei [5] and the others shook their heads at You Feiling, causing her to frown. ”Why aren’t you willing to warn them?”

Feng Yao looked at her. ”You can warn them if you like, but we won’t. They are cultivators who have lived for so long, and many of them have lived for hundreds of thousands of years, so they should already have enough experience to deal with such situations. Additionally, it’s important to keep in mind that helping them won’t necessarily benefit us, and we might end up in a precarious situation because of them.”

”Do you think like that too, Zhang Fei?”

Zhang Fei [5] replied to You Feiling with a nod. ”I don’t know any of them, and they are much stronger than me, so they should be responsible for their own lives. As Feng Yao said just now, helping them won’t necessarily benefit us, and our kindness can harm those closest to us. Feel free to warn them about the arrival of those beasts, and I won’t stop you guys.”

”You—”

”Stop it, Feiling.” Qing Qiu’er stopped her. ”They are right, you know? Have you forgotten what those people did to us back then? They knew we were in a precarious situation at that time, and we needed their help. Instead of helping us, they sneered and left us to die just because they hated us as dual cultivators, and we were lucky to get out of that situation alive.”

You Feiling turned to her and frowned, but memories of that day’s events suddenly emerged in her mind. She let out a soft sigh and gave up trying to persuade them.

When the sun had set, Zhang Fei [5]’s acquaintances and their respective sect members finally arrived at their area. Huo Ling immediately opened the way for them to enter, but she strictly prohibited people from those sects from entering her temple, except for Hun Di and the others.

Hun Di and the others immediately approached them and inquired about the situation, prompting Zhang Fei [5] to explain everything to them. Additionally, he also explained his plans to them and asked them to join him at the Moonlit Passion Temple.

Hun Di and the others immediately discussed the matter, and they decided to join Zhang Fei [5]. However, they asked for time to explain to the sect masters of their respective sects, especially since they had not been with those sects for too long.

”Those beasts are starting to move.” They immediately looked at the screen again and saw the evil beasts split into several groups. ”Is there something important in the west?”

”The Eternal Spring Oasis should be in the west, but that place has long since dried up.” Feng Yao thought for a moment as she followed the beasts’ movements. ”I’ll go check there, and you should stay here, Ling’er. If those beasts or demons approach here, you can exterminate them immediately.”

”Yes, Master.”

”I’ll go with you.” Feng Yao grabbed Zhang Fei [5]’s shoulder and took him away to the Eternal Spring Oasis directly.

After they heard about the situation, the sect masters of those sects warned their acquaintances who were still scattered in other areas about the arrival of those evil beasts, and they forbade them from approaching the west and southwest areas.
