Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1131: Mysterious Merchant

”Here he comes.”

The sky above the Forbidden Land split in two, and a tunnel of light descended from it, followed by a powerful pressure that pressed down on everyone present. Those beasts and demons experienced the most significant impact, including Zhang Fei [5].

Feng Yao moved to protect Zhang Fei [5] and all the beasts on their side, especially since they were too overwhelmed to withstand the pressure.

The first thing that appeared was the head of a dragon mixed with a deer, and its two horns were more similar to deer antlers than dragon horns. The size of its head is enormous; its two dragon eyes are a hundred times bigger than a ball, and it has a long neck like a serpent covered in white scales.

”What kind of beast is that?” Zhang Fei asked Feng Yao, especially since the system could not detect its status.

Feng Yao smirked faintly. ”That beast is the one and only Ancient Leiyu Tianlu, which is a mixed breed of the Ancient Celestial Dragon and the Longevity Deer.”

”A mixed breed of the Ancient Celestial Dragon and the Longevity Deer?” Tianshi Shengjie was shocked to hear that, especially since she herself was a celestial dragon. ”Why have I never heard of the latter?”

Feng Yao shook her head slightly. ”As I said before, the mysterious merchant belong to the ancients. They no longer live in this Paradise Realm, and they live in the realm above it.”

”A realm above this realm?” Most of the cultivators of the Paradise Realm had met the mysterious merchant several times, but none of them had ever known his true identity, so Feng Yao’s revelation greatly shocked them. However, it also made them wonder about her true identity, especially since no cultivator in their realm knew about the ancients, which proved that her identity was deeper than they previously imagined.

”The Ancient Celestial Dragon is truly powerful, and its size surpasses yours and your race’s.” Tianshi Shengjie didn’t refute her, especially since the beast head was simply much bigger than her head in her dragon form. ”The Longevity Deer has almost become extinct in the past, and only ten were left in the realm, which happened because of the greed of living beings. Based on the beast’s name, you guys must have understood the reason behind their goal to hunt it, right?”

”Yeah.”

Soon, the Ancient Leiyu Tianlu was completely visible before their eyes, and its pure white dragon body covered a quarter of the area of the Forbidden Land. Above the beast’s back, a young man in his twenties stood with a calm expression and relaxed demeanor, with a small wooden box floating behind him.

The man suddenly looked towards them, extended his hand forward, and sucked Zhang Fei [5] toward himself. However, Feng Yao hurriedly grabbed his shoulder and held him back, shocking the man.

’Puyang Shangren, you shouldn’t do that; otherwise, you will cause him significant trouble.’ The man was even more shocked when Feng Yao’s voice echoed in his mind, and he knew his name. ’You may not know me, but I know a lot about your Puyang Merchant Clan, including Puyang Shenmi.’

Puyang Shangren asked the Ancient Leiyu Tianlu to stop flying, and he stared at Feng Yao with many questions in his mind. ’Who was your previous reincarnation?’

’These people have been waiting for you for a long time, so it isn’t the right moment to discuss my identity; you should prioritize serving them first.’ Puyang Shangren frowned at Feng Yao as he watched those people, but he was only interested in her and Zhang Fei [5]. ’You should go to that city now, and you will meet him there.’

Puyang Shangren nodded slightly and asked the Ancient Leiyu Tianlu to continue their journey, but he looked back several times at Feng Yao and Zhang Fei [5].

All the cultivators present in the temple hurriedly left, including the natural and beast races, as they were afraid of failing to get the merchant’s items, especially since most of them were rare to extremely rare ones.

Unlike them, Zhang Fei [5]’s people did not immediately move, and they waited for his decision.

’Hey! Does that mean the portal to the ancient realm is in this domain?’ Zhang Fei [5] asked Feng Yao via telepathy.

Feng Yao nodded to Zhang Fei [5]. ’Actually, this domain is the border that connects the paradise realm, the ancient realm, and several other realms.’

’Hmm?’ Zhang Fei [5] raised an eyebrow slightly. ’Can we also go to the Primordial Realm through this domain?’

Feng Yao shook her head slightly. ’The Primordial Realm isn’t directly connected to the other realms, including the Ancient Realm. Although Hu Tianlang has already told you about my other identity, it is not yet time for me to explain it to you in more depth, and you should focus on your life in this realm, especially since it is just about to start.’

’I know.’ Zhang Fei [5] then looked at the people behind them. ”Let’s go there now.”

In front of the main city, the people from the five clans were already lined up neatly, with some of their clan members behind them, waiting for Puyang Shangren’s arrival.

Soon, Puyang Shangren arrived, and he immediately walked down toward them as if descending a staircase. The Ancient Leiyu Tianlu quickly shrank its body to become as small as a bird, and it perched on his right shoulder.

After Puyang Shangren stood in front of them, Xuanyuan Zhuanxu immediately led the others by cupping their hands to him. ”Welcome to our town, Senior Puyang.”

”All of us come from the ancient race, so you guys don’t need to be this formal with me.” Puyang Shangren then asked them. ”Do you know the identity of the crimson-haired woman in the temple? How can she know my name and our race?”

Xuanyuan Wuyue answered him immediately. ”Senior Puyang, I don’t know her current name, but her past identity is Empress Huo Yanling. As for how she could know about you and our ancient races, I don’t have an answer for that.”

”Huh?” Puyang Shangren was momentarily taken aback. ”Is she really that Spirit Flame Empress?”

”My sisters and I overheard their conversation a week ago, so we’re certain that she is indeed Empress Huo Yanling’s reincarnation.” Puyang Shangren nodded slightly, and Xuanyuan Changyi informed him of something else. ”If you see the red-haired woman by her side, she is the Eternal Flame.”

”What?” Puyang Shangren exclaimed in shock. ”I did see that red-haired woman by her side, and she is indeed a flame spirit, but is it true that she is the Eternal Flame?”

Xuanyuan Qian then explained. ”Senior Puyang, only the Eternal Flame could create the deep red flame barrier, and they’ve been living in the temple since they arrived in our domain. Furthermore, they have protected the temple from those demons and beasts, so we are sure we have not mistaken the identity of that red-haired woman.”

”If she really is the Eternal Flame, then why doesn’t she reactivate the altar? If she reactivates, this domain will return to normal, and all of you will regain your strength.” All of them shook their heads at Puyang Shangren, especially since they had not met Huo Ling because of her barrier. ”The situation in the domain this time seems unusual; I can see hundreds of thousands of demons and evil beasts roaming here, and they seem to be looking for something.”

”Senior Puyang, they seem to know about the existence of that thing in our domain.” Puyang Shangren raised an eyebrow in response to Xuanyuan Zhuanxu. ”I don’t know how they found out about it, but we’ll make sure that they will never manage to find it.”

Puyang Shangren nodded to him. ”You must keep a close eye on that thing, especially since it could destroy this Paradise Realm and the Three Mortal Realms if it falls into the hands of those heretics. Who is the young man next to Empress Huo Yanling? Why does she seem so protective of him?”

”Based on their conversation, his name is Zhang Fei [5], but we don’t have any detailed information about him.” Puyang Shangren intently listened to Xuanyuan Wuyue, who explained several things about him, including the presence of mythical beasts by his side. ”Senior, those people are on their way to this city, so I think we should prepare to welcome them.”

Puyang Shangren nodded in response. ”Let’s go there. I brought many new items today, and you guys can choose the items you need before those people arrive.”

Xuanyuan Zhuanxu wanted to lead Puyang Shangren into the city, but Zhang Fei [5] and his entourage suddenly appeared. Moreover, it was clearly not Feng Yao who had brought them there; it was him. ’His speed is even more astonishing than what he showed last week.’

Puyang Shangren was also quite surprised. ”You have such a marvelous movement technique, little boy. The distance from the temple to this city is nearly 10,000 miles, but you were able to bring them here in seconds. Moreover, I couldn’t feel any ripples in your Qi, proving that you have complete control over iti.”

”Senior, you praise me too much,” Zhang Fei [5] respectfully replied.

Puyang Shangren nodded slightly. ”Since you guys have arrived, you can follow us now. As usual, you must have my token to purchase items from me, and you can take the test if any of you don’t have one yet.”

”Yes, Senior.”
