The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 382: Chapter 382: Forced to Compete

A newlywed couple should ideally be enjoying sweet, intimate moments together, but whenever Han Jing thought about how Su Yu was so uncompromising last night... she lost all interest in such intimate notions. Indeed, those tales of blissful newlywed life are merely lies.

She preferred to tackle some practical issues, which seemed more meaningful.

Su Yu had promised her yesterday that he would invite Su Xingqiao over today, so Han Jing also asked Bo He to bring Yun Feng and An Chuxue over for lunch. After the meal, they could all gather to discuss certain matters.

Su Xingqiao truly did not expect Han Jing to actually want him to seize the throne.

”Jing’er, I have no such plans. I’m already preparing to return to the Northern Land in a few days,” Su Xingqiao had never intended to stay long in the Capital City. Initially, he planned to leave after New Year’s, but he stayed until the end of February because Han Jing was getting married.

Now that Han Jing was married, and to the person he respected the most, he had nothing holding him back and it was time to leave.

According to the rules, he should call Han Jing ”Imperial Aunt,” but he couldn’t bring himself to say it, and luckily, they didn’t mind.

Yet, he couldn’t stay here much longer.

An Chuxue and Yun Feng were also surprised by Han Jing’s bold move; her ambition to seize the throne was truly daring!

And she had spoken up about it, while Su Yu sat there with a serene expression, clearly accepting of her decision and planning to partake in it.

Yun Feng couldn’t help but ask curiously, ”Hey, Yun Peng, aren’t you usually the one least interested in getting involved in such matters?”

Han Jing gave him a chilly glance, and Yun Feng immediately shut up, raising his hands in surrender, ”I have no opinion.”

An Chuxue cautiously noted, ”Mirror, isn’t this too risky? Seizing the throne, the Emperor might execute us for this.”

Han Jing...

”Brother Qiao, I know you have no intention of seizing the throne, and don’t want to, but have you considered that the Crown Prince and Prince An have allied? What happened that day, Prince An will definitely not let it go. Also, since Su Yu and I are married, even if the Emperor doesn’t overthink it, the Crown Prince will believe that my mother and Su Yu are allied to promote you and oppose him. Even if you don’t have this intention, would he believe it? Once the Crown Prince ascends the throne, the first one he won’t spare will be you, and he won’t spare anyone who could threaten him. Of course, we could leave the Capital City, even Nanyao Country, and retreat safely, but can the generals under your command in the Northern Land avoid being implicated? What about all those in the Princess Mansion? We can leave, but what about them? Besides, there’s no more suitable candidate than you, Brother Qiao, so you still need to consider it. It’s not that we want to fight, it’s our opponent forcing us to fight.”

Han Jing knew she had great ambition, but she always felt that if she couldn’t grasp everything in her own hands, the future would forever be fraught with uncertainties.

She might face numerous challenges, and she had to proceed cautiously with every step to ensure she had no concerns.

Especially regarding last night’s incident, which she pondered all night. She was sure Su Yu had feelings for her, yet he restrained from touching her, and there had to be a reason, most likely related to the child in her womb. But why was he so concerned about this child?
