The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 378: Chapter 378: You’re Not Needed Here

”The Crown Prince is indeed unsuitable for the throne, the Second Prince is too mediocre, and the Fifth Prince is still young. Now the suitable candidates are just the Crown Prince and Qiao’er.” Su Yu also knew the current situation of the court, but he had always been reluctant to get involved.

Among the princes, the suitable candidates are only the Crown Prince and Su Xingqiao, Su Xingyan is not considered.

Originally, who ascended the throne did not affect him much, as he seldom returned to the Capital City and did not stay long when he did. This return had been merely because the poison had flared up too frequently at that time. Whenever the poison flared up, he would not remember what had happened, so he stayed longer to avoid causing trouble. He had never expected to meet Han Jing by accident, nor had he expected that the poison would be inadvertently cured.

Of course, the most unexpected thing was that he would marry Han Jing.

Han Jing continued, ”Once the Crown Prince ascends, Prince An will not spare us, nor will the Crown Prince spare Brother Qiao and my mother. Even if we can all retreat safely, there’s still the Princess Mansion with a whole family! Although my mother doesn’t care about them, they are, after all, my father’s children. Now that my father has passed, how could my mother not care about their life and death? Right now, it’s not a matter of whether we want to get involved or not; we have no choice but to be involved. The grudges and grievances here cannot be resolved simply by leaving.”

Su Yu nodded, ”I understand what you mean. Tomorrow, I’ll send someone to invite Qiao’er to discuss it.”

Han Jing was right; at this moment, it’s indeed no longer a matter of whether they want to get involved, but they have no choice but to get involved.

Without a more suitable candidate, Su Xingqiao is the best choice.

Su Yu doesn’t care about others’ life and death, but if Han Jing does, he certainly won’t disappoint her.

Having persuaded Su Yu, Han Jing felt the matter was halfway done. She hadn’t expected Su Yu to agree so easily. She knew that Su Yu didn’t like nor necessarily need to meddle in court affairs; he could leave anytime, and the people there had little connection to him. The fact that he agreed to help was likely because of her.

So even though the bridal chamber wasn’t particularly harmonious, given that Su Yu still cared about her, the anger in Han Jing’s heart dissipated quite a bit.

However... to forgive him so easily isn’t really her style!

Han Jing stretched lazily, holding her belly, and said, ”Suddenly, I feel a bit hungry.”

Then she glanced at Su Yu, making her intentions clear.

Su Yu understood her little scheme from her expression and reached out to ruffle her hair, saying gently, ”Wait.”

Han Jing nodded proudly.

She wasn’t really hungry, but having slept the afternoon away, she was no longer tired. After Su Yu left, she got out of bed, freshened up casually, and leisurely reclined on the soft couch, waiting for Su Yu to make her something to eat.

Su Yu knew she wasn’t happy tonight, so he specially made two extra dishes. When he finished and was about to serve them, he saw Lan Lan standing lost at the small kitchen door, staring at him.

Without even glancing at her, Su Yu walked straight past.

After taking a few steps, he stopped and turned back.

Lan Lan suddenly looked up in surprise and apprehension, only to hear Su Yu say coldly,

”If you have nothing to do, don’t randomly enter the inner courtyard. You’re not needed here.”
