The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 379: Chapter 379: Is She Worth It?

After saying that, he left without looking back.

”Master, I can stay to protect the Princess Consort.” Lan Lan had no time for heartache, and perhaps even hearing something that would pierce her heart was a luxury to her.

Yet she still wanted to be closer to him, even if it meant protecting a woman she didn’t even want to look at.

She really didn’t understand and couldn’t believe her own eyes. Why, why was it like this?

Her master was such a noble person, a deity-like figure revered by everyone in the Spirit Cultivation Realm, akin to a king. And now, what was he doing? He actually went to the kitchen himself to cook for such a woman?

She truly couldn’t believe everything she saw.

What qualifications did that woman have to receive such favor from him?

”No need.” Su Yu couldn’t be bothered to say any extra words; he wasn’t interested in what Lan Lan was thinking. To him, appearing in places one shouldn’t, without his explicit order, was already crossing the line.

The cold and harsh three words struck Lan Lan’s heart once again.

Yet even so, she still didn’t want to give up. Before Su Yu returned to the room, she spoke again: ”Master, the Princess Consort is a woman, and she’s pregnant. I know medicine, and I can be very helpful when you’re unavailable, so please reconsider.”

It had to be said, Lan Lan was smart. Despite probing in her heart, she still hit Su Yu’s most concerned spot.

What Su Yu cared about most was Han Jing and the child in her womb. Although he would try his best to stay by her side, what happened last time reminded him that no matter how cautious he was, there would always be things he couldn’t cover. He specifically brought Lan Ling to ensure that even if people from Lingyou Hall came, there would be no worry.

But on one point, Lan Lan was right: Han Jing was a woman, and she was pregnant. No matter how skilled Lan Ling was, he was but a child; if something were to make her uncomfortable, he wouldn’t be able to help.

Lan Lan was Yun Qingyao’s disciple. Her medical skills, though inferior to Yun Feng, were still far superior to the average person’s.

Su Yu, with his back to Lan Lan, spoke coldly: ”Don’t think I don’t know your intentions. If anything happens to the Princess Consort, I will hand you over to Lan Ling.”

With that, Su Yu left, leaving Lan Lan as pale as a sheet.

To hand her over to Lan Ling... Lan Ling’s methods—few in the entire Spirit Cultivation Realm could withstand them, yet he said he would hand her over to Lan Ling.

For that woman, was he willing to disregard her master’s face?

Lan Lan wondered if she had brought ruin upon herself. She indeed had intentions to get close to Han Jing because she couldn’t understand how an ordinary—no, even less than ordinary, unattractive woman—deserved such great favor from him.

She thought he deserved better, and none of the finest women in the world could be worthy of him, so how could he show such an exceptional regard for a plain, incompetent woman carrying another man’s child?

Han Jing smelled the aroma, her eyes lighting up. Without waiting for Su Yu to place the dishes on the table, she eagerly sat at the table, waiting.
