Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1547: Chapter 1548: Doesn’t Like Grandma

As soon as Qi Xiaoqi opened his eyes, it was as if light flickered across them, crystal clear, jet-black, staring at you as if to take your soul with them.

Mother Qi saw this, her heart inexplicably trembled, and her eyes turned red.

”My darling,” she was so excited, she puckered her lips and picked up the child to give a kiss.

Qi Xiaoqi saw that wrinkled mouth and large face coming down, it was terrifying. Before Cheng Su could say anything to stop her, he turned his head and started crying loudly.

Mother Qi was stunned but hurriedly said, ”Oh my golden grandson, what’s the matter? I’m your grandma!” and rocked him twice.

”He probably didn’t sleep enough and got woken up, this child has a bit of temper; if he doesn’t get enough sleep, he cries,” Mother Cheng quickly spoke up to defend her grandson.

Mother Qi’s heart ached instantly, she said, ”Don’t cry, don’t cry, grandma is here, grandma loves you!”

Who would have thought, Qi Xiaoqi’s cries were earth-shattering, the sound almost piercing through the roof.

Cheng Su came over and said, ”Mom, let me feed him and coax him back to sleep!” Thinking, what’s up with this little guy?

Mother Qi was reluctant to let go, but the child’s cries made her unwillingly pass the child to Cheng Su.

Strangely enough, as soon as the child was in her hands, the cries immediately stopped. Mother Qi felt a bit sour inside, but didn’t think much of it. After all, children go wherever the milk is, naturally closer to their mom, but it still left her feeling a little sour.

Of course, Cheng Su couldn’t feed him in public, so while the others stayed sitting, she took the child into the room, closed the door, and seeing not a tear in his eyes, she said, ”You were faking it? Don’t like your grandma holding you?”

Qi Xiaoqi looked at her and actually grinned, which melted Cheng Su’s heart into a puddle.

”You little rascal,” Cheng Su pretended to scold him, and opened her blouse to feed him.

After all, he was just a child; he hadn’t slept enough before, and he fell asleep while feeding.

Cheng Su didn’t take him back out, and when Mother Qi asked about the child, she smiled softly and said, ”He fell asleep. I’m afraid he’ll get cranky if he wakes up, so let him sleep in the room!”

”Should I go and keep an eye on him?” Mother Qi hadn’t had her fill of looking at her grandson yet.

Cheng Su’s mouth twitched slightly.

Father Qi said, ”It’s fine, the grandson is sleeping soundly. He’s just a baby who’s barely a month old; he can’t walk or run, no need for you to watch over him. It’s best not to disturb him!”

Mother Qi, a bit embarrassed, said, ”I was just afraid he’d cry if he woke up and didn’t see anyone.”

Mother Cheng laughed and said, ”Honestly, in-laws, I’ve never seen a child as easy to care for as our Xiao Qi. He’s so well-behaved; he doesn’t even cry if he wakes up after falling asleep. Even at night, he always sleeps till dawn. When his mom was in confinement, she didn’t need to get up at night to feed him. From birth, he’s been considerate of his mom. This child is definitely going to be filial in the future. Just wait, in-laws, he’ll be good to you!”

When Mother Qi heard that there was no need to get up at night, she felt a bit heartbroken and said, ”Doesn’t he get hungry?”

”If he were hungry, he’d definitely cry, and he also cries if he wets himself, but otherwise, he rarely cries and is so easy to take care of!” praised Mother Cheng.

But why did he cry like that just now? It was while I was holding him!

Mother Qi thought of how her grandson wailed just now and stopped crying once he was with her daughter-in-law. She thought, indeed, children are close with whoever takes care of them. When I hold him, he cries, but he doesn’t when Cheng Su holds him. It really leaves one feeling stifled.

Looking down at her own feet, she felt even worse. It’s all because of this useless leg; she needed to recover quickly, or her grandson wouldn’t be close to her anymore.

”Thank you, in-laws, for taking care of both mother and child during confinement. Once my leg heals, you can finally relax!” Mother Qi laughed and said, ”When he grows up, he must also be filial to his grandma!”

Mother Cheng smiled without saying anything, everyone could understand the meaning: once you’re healed, you can step back and let me take care of my grandson!
