Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1519: Chapter 1520: How to Hold the Full Month Banquet

When Qi Taiguo came back from the army, he held his son and played with him for a bit, then Cheng Su started talking to him about the full moon banquet.

”So, do we host the banquet or not, and how should we do it?” Cheng Su asked him.

Their situation was a bit special. They were in Qing City, and there were some comrades there; if they were inviting people, they would have to invite some folks over there too. Meanwhile, they also had relatives in their hometown, and in Guangcheng, there was a family friend they got along well with, all of whom lived far away.

As for the Guangcheng Cheng Family, Cheng Yaozu mentioned that for the full moon banquet, the old man had intended to drop by, and as for how many people would come, one table should be enough.

Also locally, Cheng Su had good friends like the Ying family and Luh Kai. Calculating this, there were quite a few people!

Cheng Su did some calculations, and just on her side, there were already about four or five tables of people, not counting the relatives from her own family and her husband’s family.

”There are quite a few people when you add it up,” Cheng Su clicked her tongue, ”What about on your side?”

”In the army, I can’t just take leave freely, so on my side, it won’t be much. At most two or three tables would be enough,” Qi Taiguo replied.

Cheng Su nodded and said, ”If we’re inviting, what about your hometown? Your mom’s mobility...”

Traveling from their hometown involved taking a long-distance bus, which was inconvenient. For their own family, it was okay, but with so many relatives, it was really hard to manage.

Qi Taiguo frowned. Mother Qi had limited mobility, always depended on crutches, and could fall easily. If it could be avoided, it was best not to have her travel so far to attend the full moon banquet.

But if they didn’t invite her, just leaving her at home? That wouldn’t be good either. Who knew what the elderly would think in their hearts!

”My mom thinks that since we can only have one child now, the banquet is symbolic, and we should at least have a couple of tables to celebrate. If not, we could just have a meal together as a family!” Cheng Su conveyed what Mother Cheng meant.

Back then, some neighbors didn’t throw big banquets, but they still had a few tables. Now it was their turn, and not having a banquet seemed unreasonable. Besides, they weren’t short of money, it was just a hassle with friends and family being scattered.

Qi Taiguo agreed, saying, ”Mother-in-law is right. We only have the one son, so hosting a couple of tables is fitting. Here’s what I’ll do, I’ll ask dad to see what he thinks. If we don’t invite relatives from the hometown, we can have a few tables when the child turns a hundred days old.”

Cheng Su thought about it and found this suggestion feasible.

”We also need to notify people early. For those nearby, just a word would do, but those farther away need advance notice and we should send invitations. We shouldn’t wait until the last minute,” Cheng Su was always well-organized.

”I’ll call home right now!” Qi Taiguo said as he put his son back in bed, and gave him a kiss.

But the little boy, whether he disliked it or something, always turned his face away.

”Look at him, every time, he acts like he can’t stand me. Every time I kiss him, he turns his face away!” Qi Taiguo mockingly tapped his son’s leg.

Cheng Su laughed heartily.

After Qi Taiguo went out to make the call, Cheng Su picked up their son, looked into his eyes, and asked, ”Tell me, do you understand? Are you enlightened? Otherwise, why are you so clever?”

Qi Xiaoqi stared at her steadily, yawned in response, and tried to nuzzle into her embrace.

He was ready to feed.

”You little rascal,” Cheng Su scolded while lifting her clothes to nurse him, feeling both content and sweet inside.
