Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1518: Chapter 1519: She’s Trying to Get on Your Good Side

Hualing listened to Cheng Su talk about the rationale for most of the day, and her mind suddenly became clear. Indeed, people need to be persuaded, and they need friends with clear and correct values.

The most beneficial advice she received was that for a couple to get along happily, it requires careful management. As a wife, one should not be extreme in attitude; instead, be gentle. Words shouldn’t be as sharp as knives; even if spoken unintentionally, can they be taken back once spoken?

Often, many hurtful words are spoken without control over one’s emotions. Isn’t that how it was between her and Chen Shouwang?

Since they chose to continue their life together, if they want it to be good, improving one’s emotional intelligence in every aspect is essential.

Of course, this is not about pleasing men, but for one’s own well-being. Who wouldn’t prefer to be close to a gentle and kind woman rather than a sharp-tongued one?

”Listening to your advice is better than reading books for ten years. Unfortunately, there won’t be many opportunities to hear you in the future,” Hualing sighed.

Cheng Su smiled and said, ”Did you note down my phone number? Call me for a chat whenever you have time.”

Hualing nodded in agreement.

At this time, Mother Cheng came over carrying the awakened Qi Xiaoqi for Cheng Su to nurse.

Seeing the child, white and clean with eyes like black grapes, Hualing expressed her admiration, ”Your Xiao Qi is so bright and easy to care for. I heard from your mom that he doesn’t need to be fed at night?”

”Yes, he’s considerate of me,” Cheng Su said with a smile.

”That’s wonderful. Our Zhuangzhuang needed to wake up twice a night, making it quite restless,” Hualing praised, recalling the exhaustion during her postpartum period with frustration.

Cheng Su didn’t forget to praise her own baby, then changed the topic by asking, ”Have you packed everything? When are you moving out?”

”Everything is packed up, and we’ll call a truck to move the day after tomorrow,” Hualing replied.

Cheng Su exclaimed, ”I wonder who will move in!”

Hualing laughed, ”How would I know any better than you?”

Cheng Su said, ”I just hope someone easy to get along with moves in. It’s better for everyone, after all, we’re in the same building. Constant noise and arguments would be unpleasant.”

”No need to worry. In a few months, you’ll get your own house. Once that’s arranged, you’ll move in,” Hualing reassured.

”Ah, you reminded me. Okay, indeed, it’s nothing to be concerned about now!” Cheng Su, thinking about the new house, felt happy, and knew she wouldn’t be staying much longer.

Hualing chatted with her for a while longer, then played with Xiao Qi for a bit before saying she still had some small items to sort and returned home.

After she left, Mother Cheng came over with a basket of snow peas in hand, sat down, and said, ”This Sister-in-law Chen really likes to talk, sitting here for two hours straight. Aren’t you tired? Thirsty?”

Cheng Su said, ”She’s leaving the day after tomorrow, and it will be hard to meet later. Let’s spend more time together now.”

Mother Cheng whispered, ”Is she afraid that after she leaves, you’ll forget her? Wants you to support her?”

Cheng Su found it amusing and said, ”Mom, what are you talking about? There’s no such thing as supporting. We’ve been neighbors for several years; even pets develop feelings after a few years, let alone people?”

”What’s the big deal? You’re doing better than her, so if she wants to cling to you, it’s quite normal!” Mother Cheng said smugly.

Cheng Su said, ”Don’t say things like that outside; it doesn’t sound good.”

”I know, I’m not foolish,” Mother Cheng rolled her eyes and gestured towards her grandson, saying, ”In a few days, it’ll be his full month. Are you planning a celebration? How do you want to do it? Have you discussed it with your husband?”

Cheng Su furrowed her brows slightly and said, ”I’ll ask him when he gets back.”
