Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1520: Chapter 1521: No Staying Afterward

Mother Qi missed her grandson desperately. When Qi Taiguo called to ask about the arrangements for the baby’s full month celebration, she immediately decided to host it in Qing City. As for the relatives in the hometown, just inform them, and if they want to come, they can; if not, they can wait until New Year when they will bring the grandson back to add a new member to the family. At that time, they will host another celebration, and just visiting each home would be an introduction.

As for Qi Taiguo’s suggestion to wait until the hundredth day to celebrate, she flatly refused, citing it as both troublesome and costly.

Actually, that wasn’t even the issue. Mother Qi wasn’t afraid of trouble or expense, especially since this money would be spent on her grandson. She was just dying to see him, which is why she decided this way.

Waiting until the hundredth day to see her grandson? Heaven knows that’s worse than taking her life!

In her heart, if it’s the full month celebration, she could also go see her grandson, and Cheng Su would be out of her confinement period by then too. She could stay a few days without worry.

As for Father Qi’s question about her leg?

”For my grandson’s full month, can’t you all lift me into the car? If you don’t, I will use my crutches to get to Qing City myself, let’s see who stops me!” Mother Qi was getting worked up.

No one could hold back her desire to see her grandson.

Daughter-in-law is in confinement, so I won’t add to the mess. Holding a full month banquet after confinement, what’s the big deal?

So, no matter what, she had to go to Qing City, she would crawl if she had to, just to see her precious grandson.

Father Qi saw through Mother Qi’s thoughts at a glance and said unashamedly, ”You just want to see the grandson, don’t you!”

Mother Qi’s face turned red from embarrassment, but she didn’t refute, saying, ”So what if I do? Can’t I see him? You’ve all seen him, but I haven’t.”

As she spoke, she felt truly bitter, her eyes started to redden with tears, she said, ”At my age, I finally awaited a grandson, yet at this moment, something happened so I couldn’t go. Even when the grandson is born, I can’t see him with my own eyes. No one could have anticipated my accident. If tomorrow something happens and I kick the bucket, wouldn’t it be true that I never got to see my grandson? Even in the future, if he honors me, I wouldn’t know which one was him!”

Father Qi’s mouth twitched when he heard this, this woman could drag out a simple topic to the heavens, such a small matter and yet she talked about future worship and rituals.

Seeing the pitiful sight of Mother Qi with reddened eyes wiping her tears softened his heart, so he said, ”Alright, alright, nobody said you couldn’t go see him, if you want to go, then go.”

Only then did Mother Qi break into a smile and said, ”The grandson is mine, I want to see, who could stop me?”

”Just don’t get too smug!” Father Qi said, ”You can go, but let me remind you, just go for the full month banquet and then come back.”

Mother Qi was stunned.

”Do you think I don’t know you? I’m afraid once you see the grandson, you’ll cling on and not leave, making a scene.” Father Qi glanced at her.

Mother Qi’s face was glowing red, she pursed her lips, indeed having that thought.

”You stubborn old man, must you always foil my plans!” Mother Qi retorted angrily.

”I’m just telling it to you beforehand.” Father Qi said, ”I know you want to take care of the grandson, but first your legs need to be agile, if your legs aren’t completely healed, then let go of this thought, don’t rush into creating chaos. In the future, when you’re well, and when the daughter-in-law and others go back to work, they’ll depend on you, you can take care of him then. If you’re not healed, don’t cling on and refuse to leave. Promise this, and we’ll take you over, if not, then none of us will go!”

Mother Qi was so angry she could’ve burst, after a long while she said, ”I promise, is that enough?”

Only then did Father Qi smile, truly, having a weakness makes people easy to handle.
