Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1515: Chapter 1516: One Thing Subdues Another

If you talk about Mother Qi’s current weakness, it’s undoubtedly her newly born grandson, Xiao Qi.

She might be displeased with Cheng Su and dissatisfied with the name they’ve chosen, but upon hearing Father Qi’s threat, Mother Qi’s face immediately changed, and she hesitated.

After numerous confrontations, she has come to understand this temperament of her daughter-in-law: strong, stubborn, truly capable of what Father Qi said—keeping the grandson and not bringing him back, not letting her see him. It’s something she could definitely pull off.

Yet, at the moment, with the daughter-in-law not around, Mother Qi pretends to be tough and says, ”I dare her to! He’s the eldest grandson of the Qi family!”

Father Qi sees through her bluff and doesn’t say a word.

Feeling quite uncomfortable, Mother Qi says, ”Tomorrow I’ll ask Granny Mi, calculate how the name is, if it’s not fitting, it should be changed. The child’s name is no joking matter!”

Qi Fengping chuckled to herself, her mom was scared by her dad’s words, indeed, this elder nephew can indeed take care of her mom!

Mother Qi is truly frightened; she’s really afraid that Cheng Su will deliberately not let her see the child—wouldn’t she miss him to death? Comparing the name and seeing the grandson, one would be like comparing sesame seeds to a watermelon; she’s not going to pick sesame seeds and leave the watermelon.

In private, Father Qi said to Qi Fengping, ”Your mom’s stubbornness needs to be cured, can’t indulge it.”

Qi Fengping replied, ”I think mom’s miraculous elixir is Xiao Qi. Dad, from now on, no matter what it is, just bring up Xiao Qi’s name, mom will certainly back down.”

Father Qi agrees, ”At last, someone who can handle your mom has appeared!”

The saying ”every power has its counterbalance” is true; before, no one could restrain Mother Qi, now just mention the grandson, and she has to back down.

Qi Fengping smiles.

”It’s not intentional to make your mom feel bad, but as she gets older, she becomes increasingly incomprehensible. Our family, every day gets better, and only with harmony can prosperity come, I don’t want to see the family constantly arguing.” Father Qi sighed, ”Your sister-in-law is a sensible person, with a good heart, marrying into our family, she’s done nothing wrong by us Qi family, on the contrary, our family always benefits. Including your sister, your younger brother, it’s just you...”

Qi Fengping’s smile slightly fades, pursing her lips.

She knows what her father means, due to that situation of hers, Cheng Su had indeed helped.

”Dad, I remember, I won’t forget the kindness of sister-in-law.” Qi Fengping says.

Father Qi responds, ”Pingping, one must know gratitude and contentment, your sister-in-law isn’t the type to exploit favors, but we should know what’s good or bad. The family is well now, I hope it continues this way for a long time!”

The grandson carrying on the family name is here, in the future if the grandson achieves great success, even if he kicks the bucket, he can have face meeting the ancestors.

”It will be, now that you have a grandson, just enjoy the blessings!” Qi Fengping praises with a sentence.

Father Qi hearing this beams with joy: ”I’m enjoying blessings right now!” He looks at his younger daughter and says, ”Now I’m not worried about anything, Jianguo is attending university, will have a future; as for you, if you don’t manage to get into university this time, find a job, marry into a good family, it’s no less, just your elder sister, with two children, Xiao Bao is so small, I’m concerned about her.”

He used to understand, but how can Father Qi not worry, fearing that Qi Fenglian might face difficult times.

”Dad, don’t worry, everyone will have their fate, when the time is right, maybe elder sister will also find a good man again!” Qi Fengping comforts with a sentence.

Father Qi nods, only hoping for this.
