Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 68: Chapter 62 Dumbfounded Hearing Luo Ye’s warning, Ying Nuo quickly nodded in understanding. Tang Luo took a careful look at Yang Xing: ”Pretty handsome, Luoluo, if you don’t like him, then I’m going for it!”

”No way!” Luo Ye’s reply was resolute and decisive.

Tang Luo, who was full of gossip, clutched at Luo Ye’s shoulder: ”That’s not fair, if you don’t like him, why can’t I chase after him? Give me a reasonable explanation!”

”He has a girlfriend, is that reason enough?” Luo Ye grabbed their hands and swiftly headed out of the school gate, sighing inwardly, sure enough, a superficial person, at least glanced over me three times without recognizing.

”Luoluo, who was that? Tell us about it!” Tang Luo’s face was brimming with curiosity: ”When did you hook up? Oh right, was it during some elder’s birthday party?”

Luo Ye’s brow furrowed slightly: ”Tangtang, I don’t like this person, and I don’t want to mention him. In any case, he’s on my blacklist, understand?”

”Understood!” Seeing that Luo Ye’s expression was clearly not joking, Tang Luo, who knew her limits as a girl, didn’t press on with her questions even though she was curious.

Ying Nuo raised her little fist: ”Luoluo, did he bully you? Next time we see him, I’ll definitely help you vent!”

”Nuonuo, if you really care about me, then stay away from him, because...” Seeing Ying Nuo and Tang Luo’s eyes spinning, Luo Ye quickly emphasized: ”Don’t get any wrong ideas, I really have your best interests at heart!”

Ying Nuo nodded her little head: ”Alright, but you didn’t finish saying, because of what?”

”Let’s not talk about him, he’s an irrelevant person, why waste our time?” Luo Ye pulled them and dashed: ”The bus is here, charge!”

The trio’s footsteps halted at the bus sign when a number five trolley bus came screeching to a stop. Before they could react, the entrance was crowded into a lump, with some in such a hurry they squeezed on through the back door exit. The driver up front was shouting frantically: ”Those who didn’t pay at the back door, hurry and come pay your fare!”

”Forget it, let’s wait for the next one. It’s the end of the regular shift, we shouldn’t add to the chaos!” Seeing the bus crowded like a sealed can, Luo Ye stopped Tang Luo and Ying Nuo from getting on.

”Are you getting on, you three? Hurry if you’re getting on, just squeeze a bit and we’ll close the doors!” The driver seemed very responsible, sticking out his neck to shout at them.

Ying Nuo quickly waved her hand: ”Thank you, Uncle, we’ll wait for the next one!”

”Spoiled kids!”

”Exactly, at that age you can afford to be spoiled. For us, as long as we’re not squashed to death it’s fine, our husbands and kids can’t wait.”

”Yeah, yeah, kids at this age are really fortunate!”

”Everyone will have their day, no use complaining!”

”...”

As the bus slowly drove away, so did the clamor of discussion. The three of them looked at each other in disbelief—spoiled, they said? OMG, they could totally imagine how it feels to be squished flat in the sweltering heat, not to mention the fear of unidentified groping hands reaching out... Really scary, right?

After two more buses passed with similar situations, and another bus meandered away, Ying Nuo sighed in frustration: ”Why do I feel like we’re fishes stranded on the shore, finding it so hard to jump back into the sea?”

”Cut it out, can fish stranded on the shore still jump back?” Tang Luo scoffed: ”So like a humanities student, always with a literary flair, but it’s illogical.”

Ying Nuo rolled her eyes at Tang Luo: ”Looking for a fight, huh? It was just a metaphor, who said anything about logic?”

Luo Ye hurriedly intervened to stop the two from bickering again: ”Alright, stop arguing, you two must be born in the Year of the Rooster, always fighting over nothing. Let’s indulge just this once and take a taxi!”

Tang Luo snapped her fingers happily: ”Agreed, I’ve wanted to suggest that for a while but was afraid you’d say it’s wasteful, so I didn’t dare speak up!”

There were plenty of vacant taxis, and as soon as Luo Ye raised her hand, one screeched to a stop right in front of them, the driver enthusiastically greeting: ”Where are you students heading? I guarantee top-notch driving skills here.”

After getting into the car, Luo Ye teased: ”I can see that, out of so many cars, you’ve got the keenest eye!”

”Miss, I’ve been driving a taxi for 15 years, my eyesight—there aren’t many who can compare. And you know, I can tell at a glance what kind of passengers are easy to get along with and which are troublesome. If I see a passenger with a difficult face, I’d rather not earn the fare than deal with the anger!”

”128 Nanjing Road, Wenxin Garden!” Luo Ye gave the address.

The driver’s skills were indeed polished to perfection; the car, like a playful and slippery fish, slipped between the lanes without causing any bumps or dizziness. Luo Ye shook her head helplessly: ”Uncle, have you gotten so used to driving a taxi that you now always like to rush?”
