Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 61: Chapter 58 No Longer Ren

Seeing Ying Nuo’s animated expression while calling Shangguan Yunhang, Luo Ye felt particularly happy, finally able to help this girl. All along, it had been Ying Nuo who was giving, and she couldn’t find any opportunity to repay.

It was indeed a coincidence to discover Ding Yudong, two weeks ago on a Saturday when she went to check on the company’s various departments’ work, the leisure department manager Liang Xiaoyan handed over the resumes of prospective employees for her decision-making, among which was Ding Yudong’s.

Ding Yudong applied for the position of network administrator. According to Liang Xiaoyan, Ding’s skills were very good; he wasn’t much of a talker, but he always seemed preoccupied. She asked if Luo Ye would like to keep him.

Upon reviewing Ding Yudong’s resume, a graduate from an electronics technical school and a technician in a state-owned enterprise with a side job in computer maintenance, she frowned when she saw the duration of his employment - nine years. How could he bear to leave?

Knowing the scale and profitability of that state enterprise, someone with nine years of experience wouldn’t leave without special circumstances. Even if the salary at her place was higher than that of the state enterprise, people valued the ”iron rice bowl” more. Her small temple, even if gilded, was of no use.

All the company’s employees were very clear about Luo Ye’s hiring criteria. Thus, when Liang Xiaoyan saw her frown, she deduced the young boss’s thoughts and quickly explained. She had asked Ding Yudong himself about his reasons for leaving, and he had resigned because he did not like the atmosphere of the state enterprise. Later, she verified with that enterprise, and their human resources manager confirmed Ding Yudong’s words but with a rather indifferent tone, seeming to dislike Ding.

Considering that people skilled in computer maintenance were still somewhat scarce and knowing a bit about the struggles within the state enterprises, Luo Ye decided to keep Ding Yudong on a trial month to observe before deciding whether to sign a labor contract.

However, when she reviewed the records, she always felt that this person looked somewhat familiar, and his name seemed faintly recognizable. She specifically had a conversation with Ding Yudong, but couldn’t recall anything, so she stopped bothering and forgot about the matter.

Today, when Ying Nuo brought up the story of Sister Chixin, Luo Ye immediately made the connection with Ding Yudong. In her past life, Ying Nuo had shared the story of Sister Chixin and the Black-hearted Brother-in-law with her and had even shown her Sister Chixin’s family portrait, which is why Luo Ye had some slight impression of Ding Yudong.

After hanging up the phone, Ying Nuo chuckled and grabbed Luo Ye’s arm: ”Let’s go, my dad didn’t believe me and made me guarantee for a long time before he agreed to take someone to catch that black-hearted Ding Yudong!”

”Now you don’t have to worry anymore, you can concentrate on reviewing for a day to prepare for the midterm exam!”

Ying Nuo looked at Luo Ye with hesitation: ”Luoluo, you have such a good memory, I don’t even remember introducing Ding Yudong to you alone. Could it be that pulling all-nighters has reduced my memory? No, I must go to bed early tonight, I can’t lose to Tangtang in this exam, or she’ll laugh at me!”

”Yeah, early to bed and early to rise makes you healthy!” Luo Ye felt apologetic; indeed, she had been introduced, but it was in a previous life. She had no choice but to let this girl take the blame herself.

...

During early self-study, Luo Ye was summoned to the office by Teacher Yang. After warmly asking her to sit down, he earnestly spent a long time analyzing, with the central idea being that her choice to pursue science was tantamount to slow suicide!

She also understood how Ying Nuo came to know about her choice of science. It turned out Teacher Yang felt the sisters had a good relationship and informed Ying Nuo to sort things out in advance.

”Alright, Teacher has said a lot, you should understand by now. Here’s a form, fill out a new one!” That was Teacher Yang’s summary statement, then a brand-new form was laid out in front of Luo Ye.

In Teacher Yang’s eyes, Luo Ye should have been deeply grateful, effusively thanking him and happily following his direction. However, to his surprise, Luo Classmate refused his kindness without giving any face, insisting on her original choice - slow suicide!

A headache! Teacher Yang rubbed his head, his face full of dilemma. He didn’t understand why the usually obedient and well-behaved Luo Ye was suddenly so stubborn after improving her grades. Okay, be stubborn, but isn’t this a bit too inflated? Does she really think she’s a genius?

”Yang, don’t bother with that anymore. Some kids are just like that; once they make a bit of progress, they become so inflated they can’t find the edges. You mean well for her, but she thinks you’re harming her. She has to walk her own path and fall on her own to learn. You have done what you could; she can’t blame you in the future. Instead, focus on students who are worth your concern,” Yang Mingfang, who has always been sarcastic toward Luo Ye, bitterly spoke up.
