Chapter 801: Chapter 45: Dead Sea Manuscript Fragment and Clues Pointing to the Akashic Records

The classical man who entered gracefully greeted Lucifer, then lifted his head with a smile, his golden wig unexpectedly light, without a hint of heaviness.

But Lucifer knew that every strand of this wig was dazzling gold because they were all made of gold.

You didn’t see or hear wrong—this is real golden long hair.

Moreover, the classical man’s clothing was genuinely sumptuous in every regard—even his ten fingers adorned with eight different gemstone rings.

Although his unique demeanor made his nouveau riche attire appear not vulgar, Lucifer still discerned the heart of a bumpkin in him.

“Wolfgang, it’s not Tuesday today. Why have you come early?” Lucifer, accompanied by Charlotte, sat on a chair encrusted with numerous jewels.

Wolfgang was the name of this classical man; Lucifer didn’t like calling this man by the celebrated surname revered by later generations.

“Because some minor circumstances arose, I intend to revise the initial plan.” Mozart… Wolfgang seemed even more humble now.

Because he knew very clearly what the identity of the luxurious woman sitting before him was: Child of Light, the great Star of the Morning Dawn, King of Hell, Master of the Fallen Angel Legion…

“Oh?”

Wolfgang said: “Your Highness once said that if I could perform a hundred pieces to move you, you would allow me to lead the way once, to the crevices on both sides.”

“It’s already 19 pieces, time flies.” Lucifer rested her chin with a gentle smile and said, “But Wolfgang, are you reminding me of the past promise? Do you think I’m forgetful? Or do you think I won’t keep that promise in the end?”

“Of course not.” Wolfgang shook his head, maintaining a poised demeanor.

Even if the one before him is the child of light who betrayed God in the transmission… but as a member of a special group, even if he couldn’t fight with force, he could leave gracefully—only if it developed to that situation, then the good relationship built through years of effort would likely be destroyed.

Wolfgang couldn’t help but smile bitterly: “Your Highness, initially I thought, with my ability, to perform a hundred pieces to move you, even if difficult, wasn’t an impossible task. But thirty years have passed, and only 19 have met the standard, which is truly too slow.”

“Once a week, but you begged for this opportunity initially.” Lucifer continued resting her chin and squinted her eyes, “So, are you planning to get more chances from me?”

“Yes, I think, if there were two chances a week, that would be best.” Wolfgang lowered his head, making it impossible for Lucifer to see his current expression.

He felt like he was wrapping himself in his own cocoon at this moment—no matter how great a writer and musician he had been, in the past thirty years, only being acknowledged nineteen times was truly heart-wrenching.

When you come full of passion, having poured copious amounts of effort into a new composition, and arrive full of hope, only to receive an indifferent attitude… I must’ve had my brain smashed by a door at the time to come find this lord of downfall!

Thirty years… how many girlfriends could I have found?

“I’m only in the mood to listen to your performance on Tuesdays.” Lucifer said indifferently, “Come if you want to, but if you don’t come next time, don’t ever come again.”

Wolfgang’s eyelids twitched slightly. His self-confidence had been torn apart over the past decades by this King of Hell.

In contemporary language, if one were to find a word to describe his current state, it would definitely be: miserable.

Indeed, he was sure he was the most miserable among all the Transcendents—after hearing continuous news of other Transcendents successfully becoming guides for new Transcendents…

How miserable?

You see, even Zang Jian, who rarely shows himself, could find a human at home!

You heard it right, found one at home!

Simply merciless!

“Your Highness, please grant me an opportunity.” Wolfgang wasn’t planning to give up just yet, he clearly understood Lucifer’s rules here, “For this, I’m willing to offer a sacrifice.”

“A sacrifice?” Lucifer suddenly laughed, “We can continue the topic. But Wolfgang, that depends on your sacrifice meeting my prerequisites.”

“Please look, Your Highness.” Wolfgang then lightly drew a line in the air, carefully pulling out a wooden box from the cracked crevice.

The box was extraordinary; Lucifer could feel a trace of divine energy emanating from it. She frowned, and then suddenly said, “The branch of the Tree of Eden?”

Wolfgang smiled: “Yes, this box is made using the branch of the apple tree.”

Lucifer shook her head: “This box is precious, but useless to me. However, you could send it to The Holy See, I’m sure they’d trade a mountain of gold for it.”

“It’s merely used to store the real offering for you.” Wolfgang slowly opened the lid of the box.

Lucifer’s vision was excellent, instantly spotting what’s inside the box—a yellowing page.

“This is…” At this moment, Charlotte also saw it, instantly showing a hint of amazement.

Lucifer didn’t wait for Wolfgang to continue speaking, directly reaching into the void, and the page inside the box flew into her hand.

She quietly observed.

“Lucifer, could this be…” Charlotte already had some guesses in her heart, but seemed unsure.

Lucifer closed her eyes—but when she opened them again, she seemed moved, “It’s genuine… the Dead Sea Scroll, Wolfgang you actually managed to find a fragment.”

Wolfgang now smiled faintly: “It’s rumored that the Dead Sea Scroll records the origin of history, the creation of gods. And the page I hold, coincidentally seems to record Your Highness’s battle with the Archangel back then.”

“I’m curious about where you obtained this page.” Lucifer seemed to avoid talking about ‘that battle back then’ Wolfgang mentioned, instead directly questioning the page’s origin.

“By luck.” Wolfgang smiled, “It was obtained by one of my descendants during an archaeological exploration… Of course, I used a little trick to retrieve it from his hands.”

Lucifer responded with amusement: “I didn’t expect that, once revered as a musical genius… your descendants would turn to archaeology.”

Wolfgang smiled bitterly, “We have no reason to limit the development of our descendants, even if he aspires to become an archeologist and ancient language scholar.”

Lucifer nodded, yet she distinctly heard the underlying bitterness in Wolfgang’s voice.

Wolfgang cast an inquisitive glance.

After a long silence, Lucifer said, “I accept this offering… I have my rules. Since you’ve offered me something good, I’ll give you an equivalent reward. Unlike It, I never speak of vague things… I’ll give you something tangible.”

“Thank you, Your Highness!”

Lucifer stood up, “From now on, you can come to me every Tuesday and Sunday to play music for me. Also, reduce the number from one hundred pieces to fifty.”

Wolfgang was overjoyed; this effectively simplified his original task multiple times—finally, he could see an end in sight. No longer would playing until his hands cramped fail to satisfy the ruler of Hell.

“In that case, I’ll prepare immediately,” Wolfgang said happily, “Your Highness, I’ve just composed a new movement!”

Lucifer replied playfully, “Starting next week—because today, I’m not in the mood, and it disrupts my original schedule.”

Although he couldn’t start immediately, Wolfgang was somewhat disappointed, but having received approval from Lucifer, he was already fortunate enough… waiting a few more days was not an issue for Wolfgang, who already possessed a long life.

“Then I shall take my leave, Your Highness.” Wolfgang performed a perfectly standard courtly bow.

“If your descendants later find more fragments of the Dead Sea Manuscript, they may bring them to me.” Lucifer chuckled lightly, “If the quantity is sufficient, perhaps I’ll directly fulfill your request and accompany you to the rift between two sides.”

Upon hearing this promise, Wolfgang didn’t feel the imagined joy; he merely nodded—such a promise was no different than a blank check—finding even one fragment would be immense luck for his descendants.

Indeed, even as the Elder, Wolfgang himself wasn’t optimistic about his descendant’s future luck.

Because, it’s said that the complete Dead Sea Manuscript contains the secret to unlocking another object… that would be the Akashic Records.

…

Charlotte took the manuscript page from Lucifer’s hand, very curious: “The Dead Sea Manuscript is rumored to hold clues to finding the ‘Akashic Records,’ and Wolfgang is willing to give it to you.”

Lucifer said calmly, “Transcendents gain near-eternal life through the rift between worlds. The ‘Akashic Records,’ as one of the origin items, is an important carrier of the main consciousness of reality. Its value is so great that even exchanging the entire Eden might be worthwhile for It… however for these Transcendents, such a treasure is akin to poison.”

Continuing, Lucifer smirked coldly, “These traitors to the world wouldn’t dare to boast in front of the world. Exchanging it for my approval might seem foolish to others, but for Wolfgang, it’s merely waste utilization. Moreover… having only one page fragment doesn’t have much use.”

“So why did you agree?” Charlotte asked, puzzled.

“Waiver? Ultimately, whether or not I’m satisfied, the autonomy remains in my own hands. What’s the difference between one piece and a hundred pieces? Besides… who would think this page documents the war between me and my brother?”

Lucifer suddenly grinned evilly: “Though the most important function of the complete Dead Sea Manuscript is as a guide to the ‘Akashic Records,’ it also has exciting abilities.”

“Oh?”

“Having the complete Dead Sea Manuscript equates to possessing the power to rewrite history,” Lucifer revealed with a gleam in her eyes, “The holder can alter history—though this alteration doesn’t truly change historical events. It rewrites people’s cognition of related history.”

“I don’t understand.” Charlotte was straightforward.

Lucifer explained, “For example, a person named Layn died a hundred years ago in war, and he was just an unknown soldier. But through rewriting the Dead Sea Manuscript, we can make posterity know Layn as a great king, once invincible, even founding a great nation. Then, all history would serve Layn, and in all our knowledge, wisdom, and documents, this great monarch would appear—but the true Layn remains the nameless soldier.”

“Instead of rewriting…” Charlotte was shocked, “it’s more like manipulating historical memory! That’s terrifying!”

“No matter how terrifying, it requires possessing the complete Dead Sea Manuscript,” Lucifer remarked with some regret, “Though it is so, never has anyone managed to acquire the complete Dead Sea Manuscript. Whether this ability exists is also unknown.”

“I might be able to divine where the remaining fragments are.” Charlotte lifted the page, fingers twirling her hair, her face full of excitement, “With it as a clue, the success rate should be quite good.”

Lucifer remained silent… why the fondness for divination?

“Hmm… for some reason my mood has suddenly improved.” Lucifer said abruptly, “Charlotte, accompany me to the courtyard for tea.”

“Alright.”

But in the next moment, Lucifer suddenly stopped, and frowned. Concerned, Charlotte looked on, and Lucifer spoke, “Bucky is calling to me.”

“Bucky? Has he appeared?” Charlotte was puzzled, “Seems like he’s encountered some danger?”

Before the conversation with Wolfgang, Bucky’s presence had just disappeared; now so quickly reappeared?

Lucifer’s expression suddenly turned bizarre, “Indeed, it is calling for me, but very faintly… seems like he truly ran into something troublesome.”

Lucifer shook her head, waved her hand, and before her eyes, a black hexagram light circle appeared on the floor, “I don’t know who you are, but you intend to target my prey, aren’t you planning to pay a little price?”

Once the Child of Light, Star of the Morning Dawn, now the King of Hell… every identity shakes the Three Realms with a mere stomp—she truly disregarded most things.

Charlotte shook her head, probably unaware from where some Indigenous Deity or such had emerged to snag away Bucky.

After all, Bucky had received Lucifer’s favor: some kind of super strong luck.

However, at that instant, Lucifer suddenly spat a mouthful of blood, and the black hexagram light array shattered simultaneously.

She didn’t even have time to utter a word before she fell to the ground, eyes carrying a look of terror.

“Lucifer!” Charlotte exclaimed in shock.

Lying on the ground, Lucifer was now unconscious!
