Chapter 803: Chapter 47: Bucky on the Offensive

“Master, your hand is bleeding. Let me clean it up for you.”

Thus, moist lilac began to wrap around his fingers, gently swirling.

Sometimes sucking like a baby, sometimes savoring like a sweet lollipop.

At this moment, if paired with a gaze from deep blue eyes, the effect would be even better.

—Such a scene naturally would not happen.

Once the little bit of blood was wiped clean, the small wound on the finger was completely healed—within the club, the Boss was indeed an Undying.

He remembered being shot in the forehead by the first customer, yet he was still able to stand up alive. This was nothing more than a lighter cut, which if not for the Maid’s concern, the Boss actually wouldn’t intend to pay it any mind: for someone who often entered the kitchen, occasional cuts were quite ordinary.

“Ah—help—don’t come near—!!!”

Bucky suddenly fell from the sofa to the ground, then scrambled in panic, even his fists aimlessly swinging at the air.

However, Bucky quickly realized he seemed to no longer be in that terrifying place, and there weren’t countless poisonous snakes crawling around—here, clearly was where he had first walked in.

In front of him was no longer that terrifying three-headed monster and the blood-soaked corpse maid. These young men and women had restored to their original appearance.

Bucky calmed himself… Lucifer wasn’t here?

He remembered when the environment around changed for the first time, the enormous three-headed monster and corpse maid appeared, alongside the terrifying magma underground, he urgently called out to Lucifer.

He didn’t want to die, absolutely didn’t want to die just like that—even if it meant using his second wish.

But… Lucifer didn’t arrive.

Could it be his call failed?

But that shouldn’t be the case…

Now when Bucky looked at these young men and women, his gaze was filled with uncertainty.

His mind raced, madly calculating his current situation: details about this place had been imprinted into his original cognition the moment he walked in—a very peculiar matter.

As Lucifer’s contract holder and one who offered his Soul to the King of Hell, regarding such unconventional means, Bucky only felt surprise rather than fear, and could well accept it.

He began organizing the information about this club that had been infused into his cognition: it was a place where anything could be bought, and the items for trade were everything except wealth.

At first glance, this operation had many similarities to Lucifer’s contract. Only Lucifer specified using his Soul as a sacrifice to obtain three wishes from her.

It was said that usually when devils roamed the human world, they used wishes as bait to entice humans to sell their soul.

However, low-level devils could typically only fulfill one wish, and even that wish was with limitations. Slightly more advanced devils seemed to achieve two wishes.

Lucifer offered three, with very few restrictions—of course, wishes didn’t include operations like ‘I want to have abilities like yours’ or ‘grant me N more wishes’.

Bucky didn’t know exactly how Lucifer measured these three wishes.

Sometimes, he even wondered if Lucifer truly fulfilled three wishes for him, when eventually taking his Soul, would she feel it was a loss.

He certainly couldn’t synchronize with Lucifer’s witch-like thinking process—but regarding this club, Bucky felt he could well embrace it.

Anything could be bought here, provided one had an adequate price—that is, if you could offer something of enough value, you could buy something equivalent in value.

Certainly, it wasn’t adhering to the principle of absolute fair exchange; no trader in this world followed an equal exchange.

Yet even so, Bucky had an idea that seemed unbelievable to him: this place might relatively be much safer than Lucifer’s!

It was doing business, mutual consent, lacking the deceit present in Lucifer’s domain… As long as he clearly weighed the balance between need and sacrifice…

At this moment, Bucky felt his mind was extraordinarily clear… Without knowing why, ever since he’d encountered transcendent matters through Lucifer, Bucky’s imagination even frightened himself.

Back at the Imperial Command, he and Mingo were among the few who handled business—a group specifically managing business affairs. Although he often killed and committed arson, he felt he was definitely on the smart side, believing that if he hadn’t gone astray young, he certainly could’ve become a successful businessman.

He relished the feel of primitive capital accumulation, especially watching wealth accumulate—it stirred his heart, surpassing any splendid peak experience.

Yes… Right, the key was primitive capital accumulation!

The club’s owner was a businessman—he was engaging with a businessman… A magical businessman, here things could be bought…

Primitive capital accumulation…

Continuous cooperative relationships…

Maximizing interests…

Numerous frantic ideas formed in Bucky’s mind, ultimately a wild notion causing him to suddenly raise his head. His gaze was fervent, filled with a greed known as original sin.

Boss Luo quietly watched Bucky’s transformation, with a hint of an elusive smile… This Soul was much more interesting than he’d imagined.

In Boss Luo’s view, Bucky’s Light of Soul, like a spectrum, continuously jumped between different colors over time.

Boss Luo easily sensed the excessive greed in Bucky’s gaze… This greed acted like a regulator, continually stimulating the change in his Light of Soul.

“Guest, would you like a drink?” The boss slightly smiled.

The shattered glass and debris had already been cleaned by You Ye, and Boss Luo prepared a new drink: Bloody Mary.

“Oh… Sure.” Bucky steadied himself.

He believed, as long as he didn’t act recklessly, the generosity of the boss in front of him would redefine his perception of things—he approached the counter like a regular customer frequenting a bar.

Bucky drank the Bloody Mary in one gulp, feeling the burning sensation down his throat, he licked his lips and suddenly asked, “A question?”

“Feel free to ask.” Boss Luo slightly smiled, “We’re happy to answer customer inquiries… Of course, some consultations require a fee.”

Bucky nodded, took a glance at the young mysterious boss, then looked at the beautiful Maid by his side—he momentarily indulged in a daze, but quickly returned to his senses.

First, he had absorbed too much influence from Lucifer and Charlotte, these two close friends, hence his resistance to beauty was far superior to ordinary people.

Secondly… He clearly understood which type of woman he could get involved with and which he couldn’t!

Third: where’s the pleasure in pursuing women compared to making money!

He took a deep breath and nervously asked, “Who’s more powerful between you and Lucifer?”

Boss Luo pondered, trying to find the most accurate words to describe the difference between the two… but the maid had already smoothly picked up the topic.

She smiled at Bucky and said, “Have you heard of manta rays?”

Bucky nodded, “I know, manta rays are devil fish.”

The maid calmly continued, “Do you know what a blue whale is?”

Bucky nodded again.

You Ye finally said, “That’s the gap between us.”

Bucky was stunned, then his expression turned slightly odd… Could it kill to be a bit humble?

However, this calm confidence infected Bucky… Even though he didn’t truly believe there was such a huge gap between them, at least it seemed that they should be a tiny bit more powerful than Lucifer — at the very least, his attempt to call Lucifer had already failed.

That haughty, mysterious, and powerful Dark Queen seemed to have suffered a concealed loss… Bucky could vaguely sense this — the source was the contract between him and Lucifer.

Bucky was silent for a long time before shaking his head, “I roughly understand your transaction methods… My soul is probably the most valuable thing I have, right?”

“That’s correct.” Boss nodded.

Bucky said helplessly, “But my soul has long been marked by some devil, and according to your rules, it doesn’t seem to be my private property anymore?”

Boss Luo said calmly, “Well… theoretically, if the three wishes you hold still haven’t all been fulfilled, then it still belongs to you…”

Saying this, Boss Luo reached into the void and a yellowed page materialized in his hand.

“Take a look, is this the contract you previously signed with her?” Boss Luo pushed the page in front of Bucky.

Bucky incredulously raised both hands, his eyes swiftly scanning each line, exclaiming, “This is… how did this contract end up in your hands!”

“Tearing it would be useless, sir.” Boss Luo said calmly, “This contract isn’t the original, just a copy I’ve imprinted; I’m merely asking you to confirm the contents, please look at clause thirty under section five which states: ‘Only when all wishes of the contributor have been fulfilled, must the contributor surrender their own soul’.”

Holy crap… how did you do it!!

Meanwhile, Bucky even had a strange illusion: he now seemed like someone caught in a lawsuit, and was negotiating with his lawyer to find loopholes in the contract documents.

—— Well, we could actually fight this lawsuit like this… starting from this point… balabala…

“This… can I buy a copy of this contract from you?” Bucky’s breathing suddenly became rapid.

As long as the original contract is torn apart, then the contract between him and Lucifer will be invalidated — although invalid, the wishes already fulfilled will not be reversed!

This! He obtained precious information using twenty female students and twenty young men from an ’employee’ at the ‘Flaming Red Lips’ Bar!

“Theoretically, it can be bought, as long as you can afford it.”

Back to the issue of funds he possessed — indeed, the key was the primitive capital he could accumulate.

“I understand.” Bucky took a deep breath, “I want to buy methods to collect souls! Doesn’t have to be advanced, just the simplest, even the most brutish method will do… since it still belongs to me, then… I can use it, right?”

Boss said, “That can indeed be done. However, sir, though your soul is still yours, due to the contracts you have signed previously… considering the obstructions we’ll encounter when extracting in the future after delivering goods to you, I reckon the value of your soul might be slightly lower.”

Bucky wasn’t bothered by their pricing strategy — in business, what merchant wouldn’t negotiate the price down? That was perfectly normal.

As for using up his own soul… who cares? Even though Bucky vaguely learned many things about souls after death from those dumb demons often speaking without discretion after drinking too much at the ‘Flaming Red Lips’ Bar, he never cared about handing over his own soul.

It’s like urgently needing money for business, and then taking a loan from a bank… For a loan, you must give the bank some collateral.

Is it collateral from real estate? No problem, it can be earned back! It can be reclaimed in the future!

This is a normal business thought: how to cash out more capital!

And what he wants to cash out is the way to collect souls! Once he can collect a large amount of souls, naturally he could buy more things from here… and he will establish a long-term cooperative relationship with this club.

Like the relation between distributors and suppliers, maybe he’d even get many discounts in the future.

“A method for collecting souls?” Boss Luo nodded, “Here is indeed a set suitable for you, sir, and fairly easy to operate; even ordinary people can perform it.”

“What is it!” Bucky’s breathing accelerated again.

Give it to me, give it to me, give it to me!

His eyes seemed to be screaming those words… at this moment, in Boss Luo’s view, Bucky’s Light of Soul suddenly shone like a lit magnesium strip, emitting a blinding glare.

“Faith,” Boss Luo lightly uttered the word from his lips.

…

…

Many people felt today was an especially unlucky day, as the calm harbor city suffered a fierce storm attack, and the observatory hadn’t broadcast any message beforehand.

This caused many people to suffer significant losses — especially those private yachts anchored at the dock. The yacht owners were left utterly dismayed.

Of course, the damages were far beyond just this — because during the storm, the city’s entire communication was savagely assaulted.

Whether it was cell phones, fixed phones, or computers, numerous electronic products also suffered damage simultaneously.

Arno frowned at his completely black-screened phone. Not just him, the people around him faced the same situation. As for the few televisions displayed in the nearby appliance store cabinet, they turned into snowy screens in the blink of an eye.

“I heard if solar flares are particularly intense, they would cause us a strong impact, leading to electronic component failures?”

A man nearby, thinking he knew much, was saying to his companion.

Arno shook his head, uninterested in participating in such street discussions. He looked at the chaos in the streets caused by the violent wind, then tightened his backpack — his clothes drenched by the rain, he needed to find a place to change clothes.

Fortunately, the weird storm came quickly and left quickly.

But originally near dusk, now as the storm gradually faded, the sky had completely darkened… Arno scanned his surroundings and quickly headed to a nearby public restroom.

He didn’t notice, a shadow had quietly begun to follow him…
