Chapter 853: Chapter 97: The Devil’s Deal (3)

Although Bucky was quite resistant to the concept of credit — as it made him feel like he was burdened with the pressure of working for others — he wasn’t too worried since the power of faith could be produced continuously.

Generally speaking, a fervent believer like Mr. Besong could generate a unit of faith power within three days. In contrast, believers at a lower level than Mr. Besong would take about eight to ten days to produce a unit of faith power.

Moreover, a unit needed to be completed on the same believer, and it wasn’t possible for multiple believers to ‘pool together,’ so theoretically, even a fervent believer like Mr. Besong had a limit to how much faith power he could generate in his lifetime.

Therefore, to gain more units of faith power, one must either expand the number of followers or convert ordinary followers into loyal ones.

It is said that above devotees like Mr. Besong, there are those who can provide multiple units a day. These people are called Prayer Aggregators by the gods, and they typically reside in the divine nation of the gods.

Oh… of course, Bucky is a very pragmatic person, so the concept of Prayer Aggregators seemed far too distant for him, and he also didn’t know how to create them.

In fact, he had barely more than eighty followers under him now, and the entire church was at the beginner stage of developing a mysterious entrepreneurial endeavor.

Let’s first set a small goal, such as a thousand followers.

“Then… if I want to buy something in the future, how do I find you?” Bucky knew he couldn’t keep the maid’s strong support, so he began to plan for future matters.

When Lucifer contracted him, he even gave him the ability to summon Lucifer. Thinking about this, surely the club wouldn’t be more stingy than Lucifer, right?

The maid smiled slightly at this moment, “This is something my master left with me before taking a vacation, waiting for the right time to pass it to you, and now it’s time.”

Saying this, You Ye handed a black card to Bucky. Bucky curiously examined it but couldn’t find anything special about it, except for a unique golden mark on it.

He heard the maid say indifferently, “This is a Five-Time 10% Discount Card. When you need to, it will guide you to our store and give you a 10% discount on five transactions.”

Bucky nodded, then curiously asked, “Why five times?”

The maid blinked and said, “Because there are also Ten-Time Discount Cards, Hundred-Time Discount Cards, or even Five-Time 20% Discount Cards, Ten-Time 20% Discount Cards… and the highest level is the Eternal Sixty Percent Card. As for which Burning Black Card you end up with, that depends on your own efforts. The more generous the customer, and the longer they cooperate with us, the more benefits they will receive from us, isn’t that just a business law?”

The Eternal Sixty Percent Card!

Bucky hadn’t thought so much about it. He just did a simple arithmetic problem — he owed the club 200 units of faith power, and if he had this Eternal Sixty Percent Card on hand, it means he would only need to give 120 units!

Bucky’s breathing became slightly rapid as he nervously asked, “Has anyone ever gotten the Eternal Sixty Percent Card?”

The maid said calmly, “Of course, there’s been, and it’s even your senior.”

“Senior… who?” Bucky was taken aback.

However, after showing a beautiful smile, the maid disappeared from in front of Bucky — just as she said, her job of guiding Bucky’s beginnings was complete, and she would no longer provide any free help to him.

…

After finishing the conversation with the maid, Bucky walked back the same way. From afar, Bucky saw his most loyal and adorable follower, Mr. Besong.

As the first servant to take care of the Messenger of God’s daily meals, Mr. Besong was considered very dutiful.

He spat into his palm, rubbed it around randomly, and then smeared it onto his hair. Looking into the mirror of a car, Bucky tidied up his appearance before finally putting on the Carnival Mask.

Bucky folded his hands behind his back as he walked out from behind the car, letting out a low clear cough, “Besong, my servant, you may leave now.”

“Messenger!” Mr. Besong quickly came to Bucky with joyful enthusiasm, “Just a moment ago, one of our lovely followers told me he would be willing to bring his family before you to hear the gospel you convey.”

“Oh, really? See them when there’s a chance then.” Bucky nodded casually.

Now, after the maid’s assistance, Bucky felt his foundation was stable, so he was naturally not in a hurry — as a noble Messenger of God, how could one show vulgarity?

“Okay, I will convey that to him accurately.” Mr. Besong nodded, “Let his beautiful daughter and wife wait, Messenger, you’re indeed tired.”

Bucky coughed twice and seriously said, “I feel that making future followers eager to hear the gospel wait is somewhat inappropriate. How about this, let them come over when they’re available, maybe tomorrow.”

“Messenger, your kindness is boundless!” Mr. Besong praised, “I will notify him as soon as possible.”

Bucky nodded and added at the end, “And his daughter and wife, I won’t let them slip by…”

“Hmm?” Mr. Besong was puzzled.

Bucky said without blushing or his heart skipping a beat, “What I mean is, I won’t let go of any opportunity to spread the glory of my lord.”

Amidst another wave of Mr. Besong’s praises, Bucky happily boarded the car, slowly leaving the hospital’s underground parking lot.

At this moment, Mr. Besong’s phone suddenly rang again, “It must be another piece of good news from a follower! Messenger, may I take this call?”

Bucky waved his hand — though this guy was good, he had a tendency to report to him for every small thing… Bucky slyly yawned, feeling slightly hungry.

Lately, he always felt particularly hungry — every time he was hungry, he wanted to eat meat, especially medium-rare steak.

Bucky never knew that such bloody, half-raw steak could be so delicious… Should he ask the chef to prepare it even more raw next time?

“Messenger! Another piece of good news!” Mr. Besong turned around with an expression full of surprise, “Sure enough, following my lord’s guidance, more elites will join us.”

“Oh, whose wife is it this time… I mean, who is it this time?” Bucky curiously asked.

Mr. Besong said, “This person is different from my previous friends. This time, it’s the actual boss behind my company!”

Bucky was stunned. Over this time, through deep discussions about the brilliance of human nature with Mr. Besong’s wife, Bucky had also learned quite a bit about Mr. Besong.

Including how he rose to wealth over ten years ago, what business he was currently in, and that Mr. Besong’s company was actually a subsidiary of a large group, among others.

As the president of such a small company, Mr. Besong’s friends were already within the wealthy circle, so the real boss behind Mr. Besong must be a formidable figure!

Bucky was suddenly interested; if he could subdue the big boss behind Mr. Besong, it would undoubtedly be tremendously beneficial for his future development!

“Who exactly is this person?”

Mr. Besong quickly replied, “It’s Saint Fran!”

Saint Fran?

Bucky was confounded, this name seemed… completely unheard of?

But since this person was the big boss behind Besong, they must have significant influence in society, right? But Bucky wasn’t at all scared — hadn’t he just subdued a bigshot from the Ministry of Defense!

“Oh, got it. When I’m free, bring him over and let me meet him.”

“Messenger, I will definitely not let you down!” Mr. Besong nodded solemnly.

“By the way, what does that woman’s wife look like? Is she a smart woman?” Bucky asked about the issue he was concerned with.

The car slowly left.

…

…

Han Residence.

The evening dampness was a bit heavy, especially in this ancient city by the sea. Fortunately, it was summer now, and such dampness and cool breeze wouldn’t make people uncomfortable.

Song Ying was still busy with the Song Dynasty Group’s matters.

Strictly speaking, the Song Family had a large business but the family wasn’t large. Because Song Tianyou had traveled across the ocean back then, the real Song Family members were only him; the others were just a few loyal old servants.

Most of these old folks had also been lost in the struggles over the years. Therefore, even though Song Tianyou later set root in South America and reestablished the Song Family, it remained thinly populated even now.

Countrymen have their traditions, and Song Tianyou was particularly traditional, maintaining some old-fashioned outlooks in many respects, like passing the family business to sons, not daughters — although Song Ying won considerable lenience and changes from Old Master Song with her excellence in this regard, she still had quite a distance to truly overturn Old Master Song’s ingrained considerations.

She worked hard for this, even turning her room into an office.

After eleven, a servant brought a late-night snack and stimulant drinks.

Song Ying put down the files in her hands, picked up the cup, but suddenly thought of something, then paused and asked, “How’s that guy doing? Did the etiquette teacher say anything?”

The servant was actually quite young, younger than Song Ying — she came out after training in the village, and was Gan Hong’s junior, graduated two years after Gan Hong, named Akiko, a Japanese.

“That guy?” Akiko, a lively girl full of vitality, blinked playfully and asked, “Miss Ying, which guy are you talking about?”

Song Ying rolled her eyes, “Want to die? What do you want to do?”

Akiko laughed, despite her young age she was quite voluptuous, her chest bouncing shamelessly as she laughed, she twirled a strand of her hair around her finger and said softly, “Young Master Qiu finished the etiquette teacher’s instructions early, now he’s probably resting.”

Song Ying was taken aback, frowned and said, “Finished early? Was there no lenience given?”

Akiko said, “Miss, you know how old-fashioned the etiquette teacher is. Even if we wanted to cut Young Master Qiu some slack, Teacher Clair wouldn’t.”

Song Ying shook her head, “Tell me.”

Akiko’s expression was strange as she said, “Teacher Clair said that this Young Master Qiu doesn’t need any etiquette lessons. Just sitting there, he’s already the epitome of etiquette — specifically what I can’t say, anyway, Teacher Clair went in for a short time and then came out, scolded Miss Ying thoroughly, asking if you were intentionally giving him a hard time.”

“Is he really that good?” Song Ying frowned, muttering to herself, “Clair is a etiquette teacher for many descendants of ancient aristocrats, almost a walking encyclopedia of etiquette, yet such a high appraisal is given…wasn’t he raised in an ordinary family?”

Akiko cradled her cheeks and said, “Hey miss, don’t you find the appearance of Young Master Qiu really unbelievable?”

Song Ying looked over at Akiko.

Akiko seemed not to notice Song Ying’s change in expression and stared at the ceiling dazedly, saying, “You know, the elder just went on a mission, picked up someone casually, and turned out to be the relative Elder Song had been searching for decades, isn’t that too much of a coincidence?”

Song Ying abruptly asked, “What are you trying to say? That there’s a problem with my uncle in this matter?”

Akiko shook her head, “I won’t suspect the elder, but this inexplicable Young Master Qiu is hard to say. After all, with today’s technology, it should be pretty easy to fabricate convincing blood ties, right?”

Song Ying shook her head, though when Akiko said that, she felt somewhat shaken inside.

Outsiders might easily associate Young Master Qiu’s appearance with suspicious elements, maybe even aiming for the Song family’s wealth — although Elder Song’s search for relatives wasn’t publicized, over decades, it’s absolutely possible some rumors leaked.

If this is a meticulous scam.

Elder Song, her grandfather, likes Luo Qiu way too much…this Luo Qiu, seems meticulously groomed just to please Old Master Song.

“Akiko, help me with something.” As she thought, Song Ying changed her tone, seriously saying, “Uncle Wu must not know.”

“Miss, tell me.” Akiko patted her chest.

Song Ying whispered directly into Akiko’s ear, “I need you to go to Hua Country overnight. Outwardly, I’ll say you’re on a business trip for me. Once you’re in Hua Country, I will give you the next instructions.”

Akiko nodded, “I’ll leave immediately.”

…

Also in Han Residence, but in contrast to Song Ying, Luo Qiu’s room was placed in the western wing — Gan Hong’s room was right next to Luo Qiu’s, and they were identical.

In ancient terms, Gan Hong might be defined as a maidservant.

But Gan Hong wasn’t around at the moment; she was sent to rest early on — of course, Luo Qiu used a little trick to easily make the insistent staying-up-late girl fall asleep.

“Really? Bucky has entered the orbit.” Luo Qiu smiled slightly.

It wasn’t spoken to the air, but to a three-dimensional image on the table.

Approximately thirty centimeters high, the projection of the club’s Maid in front of the owner — everything about it was so perfect, like a living, breathing figurine, meticulous as if designed to be held and admired.

“Now that Bucky has subdued Ofi, his path will be much smoother…” The Maid continued her work report.

Although the Boss was on vacation, most of the authority was temporarily shifted to the Maid, yet the Maid’s self-positioning never changed, such authority transfer, in You Ye’s eyes, was merely more responsibility sharing to ensure the Boss had an enjoyable holiday.

“You handle Bucky’s business; I’m more curious about another matter.” Luo Qiu pondered for a while, then suddenly asked, “If a miracle were to be displayed, there should be many ways. Why was Dr. Ferenc ultimately chosen? I think at the end of his life, it must have been spectacular.”

The Maid whispered, “Precisely because it’s so brilliant, You Ye wants to preserve it until your return, until you can witness it firsthand. Time can brew fragrance, isn’t it what you said?”

Luo Qiu was taken aback, looking at the exquisite Maid’s projection, fingers moving slightly, wanting to touch the delicate projection’s lips.

A peculiar thought.

Luo Qiu took a deep breath…this suppressed emotion, this faint sentiment that was supposed to be born early…quite wonderful indeed.

“Wait for me to return.” He whispered softly.
