Chapter 821: Chapter 65: What Was Seen

In the remodeled underground bar, several men were currently surrounding the junkie who had been fed the new type of drug.

Despite this guy’s body still being skinny, under the entanglement of a few strong men, he unexpectedly erupted with strength that didn’t belong to a few people. His condition seemed excellent, even his reactions became exceptionally quick.

The bosses present were clicking their tongues in wonder—this bout had already lasted over ten minutes.

Eventually, the junkie who had taken the drug suddenly lost strength, collapsing directly to the ground as if he had fallen asleep.

“This guy is simply like a beast!” One of the strong men returned to his boss’s side, touching his shoulder with his hand—there was a wound bitten there.

The blonde woman in sunglasses stood up at this moment, “Everyone, I wonder how you feel about its effects?”

The bald man with the cigar, frowning, asked in a deep voice, “What’s the situation with this guy right now?”

He pointed at the junkie who had collapsed on the ground.

The blonde woman calmly said, “He’s still conscious right now, just immersed in a delusion. Due to the drug’s effects, his mental activity index has far exceeded nerve reflexes, so his brain can only shut down the command over all body functions, and his consciousness is plunged into frenzied excitement—perhaps, he’s experiencing true ecstasy.”

“This is just what you say, why should I believe it?”

The blonde woman nonchalantly said, “I will give everyone here some samples. You can go back and test its effects yourself. Of course, you can also choose to collaborate with me now and become my partners. Time is money, and money rules all.”

The scene was silent, no one became the first to stand out.

From the corner, a voice filled with doubt suddenly emerged, “In the last couple of days, a ‘Zombie Bath Salts’ has appeared over in Sao Paulo… could it be this stuff? After taking it, people go crazy and bite others. It’s said that several people died after taking it.”

The blonde woman smiled, “I would like to ask, among the numerous drugs currently on the market, which one is safe when overdosed?”

This was indeed the truth, no drug in history hasn’t come with a heavy burden of blood debts.

“Sorry, I’m just running a casino, I’m not interested in this kind of stuff.” A woman in her thirties suddenly stood up, “I’m not interested in this kind of transaction, here’s the five hundred thousand you sent, I’m giving it back to you.”

She had her subordinates take out stacks of cash and place them on the table, then she left with her people.

The blonde woman seemed unfazed. The woman who put down the money led her three subordinates out the door. However, soon after, a series of screams suddenly came from outside.

Everyone’s faces changed slightly, and someone quickly opened the door, only to see the woman and her subordinates collapsed outside… dead.

This instant infuriated the dangerous individuals present. They all drew their guns, and the narrow bar suddenly became tense and hostile.

“Ms., don’t you think your approach is too domineering? Or do you really think that with just a few of you, we will be afraid?” A mocking voice came.

The blonde woman suddenly sat down, crossing her legs, her subordinate poured her a glass of sake. She smiled, “I’m merely giving everyone time to think, but not the right to refuse. Besides, perhaps your bullets are enough to kill me, but unfortunately, I’m just an agent, and if I die, many more like me will emerge. On the contrary, you may not be so sure.”

“Are you threatening us?” Another voice sneered, “I’ve been scared all my life!”

Bam—!

Just after he said this, he suddenly fell to the ground, a blood hole appearing directly on his forehead. However, neither the blonde woman in sunglasses nor her four subordinates moved an inch.

“Oh, I forgot to tell everyone, I have five snipers arranged outside.” The woman took a sip of sake.

“You killed my brother? I’ll kill you! Stupid bitch!”

The brother of the recently shot person pulled out his gun in anger. But his gun was instantly shot down, and a bullet instantly greeted his forehead too.

“Green Scorpion.” The blonde woman put down her glass, softly saying, “One of our gunners.”

Green Scorpion—upon hearing the name, the faces of those present changed dramatically.

The Boss of Boston, who originally intended to seize an opportunity, was now very nervous. He looked fearfully at Boss Lanqi beside him and quickly asked, “Who is Green Scorpion?”

“He is the top-ranked gunman in the South American underground assassination circle, a legendary figure rumored to use a sniper as a handgun…”

The Boss of Boston subconsciously touched the handgun hidden under his clothes, feeling a deep sense of despair.

Behind this blonde woman in sunglasses was probably a formidable force beyond imagination… this force could easily annihilate everyone present.

In the gray world, the other side seemed like a great white shark, while they were just bigger fish in the sea.

“How much do these goods sell for?”

“Two hundred fifty US dollars per gram.” The blonde woman said flatly.

“That’s even four times the price of the highest purity heroin!” An angry voice shouted.

The woman looked at him, “Sir, did you say something? I didn’t hear it, could you repeat it?”

“Ha ha ha, that’s a fine price!”

Another boss standing next to him laughed out loud, walked up to the box, and picked up one of the bags, “Higher cost means higher selling price… I’ll take three kilograms of goods, right?”

“Give me two kilograms first.”

“One point five kilograms will do, I just got a batch last month, I don’t have enough liquid capital.”

Seeing one boss after another making transfers into the account provided by this blonde woman and taking away the corresponding amount of goods, Boston couldn’t help but stare dryly.

Boston’s hesitation finally caught the attention of the blonde woman. She looked at Boston calmly, “It seems this gentleman is still considering?”

Boston looked around, noticing all eyes focused on him. He swallowed nervously and stammered, “Can I, can I just have two hundred grams…”

“Two hundred grams?” The blonde woman was taken aback.

The Boss of Boston could only respond awkwardly, “It’s not that I don’t want to buy more, but I really don’t have that much money…”

“He’s just a small-time thug, hasn’t been in the game for long, doesn’t even have his own territory.” Boss Lanqi suddenly spoke up, seemingly intending to help, “I actually invited him here, to see the world, so he might not have been on your invitation list initially.”

Boston immediately cast a grateful look.

“Do you have your own sales channels?” The blonde woman suddenly asked again.

The Boss of Boston quickly said, “Currently, we’re all mobile, and our main clients are students in schools, we have sales channels in that area. Also, people who like to frequent nightclubs…”

“I see…” The blonde woman nodded, “In that case, here you have one kilogram, take it back first. You can make up the owed amount next time you restock—don’t think about running, we can find you.”

“Ye-yes…” The Boss of Boston nervously took the loaned goods, smiling more painfully than crying.

“Pleasure doing business.” The blonde woman raised her glass to everyone as a gesture.

…

After twelve, the small bar only had the blonde woman in sunglasses and her few subordinates remaining.

“Dispose of this guy.” She waved her hand at that moment, signaling people to take away the addict used for the experiment, while she remained alone here.

The woman took off her sunglasses, let down her pinned-up hair, and then made a call, “Father, it’s me, Cosini… The first step is complete.”

“You’ve worked hard, go back, take a good bath, rest a little, it’s going to be busy soon.”

In an upscale apartment quite far from this small bar, Saint Fran walked naked to the floor-to-ceiling window, the phone he just hung up casually tossed onto the big bed.

On the bed, two voluptuous young women were entangled in passion.

Suddenly, the two women on the bed simultaneously crawled down, like tamed cats, they came to Saint Fran’s feet, and began to rub their bodies against his.

They kept seeking something, seeming to be in some sort of peculiar state. Saint Fran let out a strange laugh, walked over a couple of steps, and took a bottle from the table.

Inside were some white powders. He scattered these powders on the ground, and the two young women instantly pounced down and began to lick.

Saint Fran coldly watched these self-lost women and then looked at the bottle in his hand.

He couldn’t remember how he initially got the formula to concoct this stuff… Actually, there’s no need to remember.

There’s no need to remember the furious look of the former ‘Imperial Command’ leader upon knowing he was betrayed. Anyway, he ended up dying under the betrayal of his son—Roger, becoming a shield for his successful escape.

There’s no need to remember his madness either when taking over this formula from his hands, because now this formula belongs only to him.

No need to remember those years in prison as well—because it let him fade out of many people’s sight and gave him ample time to plan some things.

“Although I came out earlier than expected, still…” Saint Fran squinted, “… life, having some unknown things makes it interesting.”

Suddenly, Saint Fran held the bottle high, aiming at the moon under the night sky, “So beautiful… Who exactly concocted you? I spent several years in prison trying to alter this formula, all to no avail, instead creating many by-products…”

…

…

In the dim alley, Caroline kept her head down and walked quickly… No police officers should be following her.

She squatted at the back door of a restaurant, exhausted, she had to choose a place to rest. Suddenly, there seemed to be the sound of footsteps.

Caroline hurriedly hid, she found that it was the restaurant staff taking out the trash.

Caroline hadn’t eaten anything for a whole day, and suddenly an idea came to her mind—she seized the moment when the restaurant employee wasn’t paying attention, quietly sneaked into the restaurant through the back door.

The restaurant was at the final stage of closing, people left were turning off the lights and started locking the doors. Not long after, Caroline turned on the restaurant’s lights in the dark.

There were still plenty of leftover scraps in the kitchen, some broth in the pot that hadn’t been used up… and bread.

Caroline was really too hungry, she quickly stuffed the bread into her mouth, then turned on the gas stove, thinking of heating up the cold broth… she gobbled it down.

She sat alone in the kitchen, nervously looking around… Perhaps, she could sleep safely here until the restaurant staff opened the doors next morning, and then find another chance to leave?

Caroline thought about it and felt unbearably tired, her eyelids fell uncontrollably. So she leaned against the cupboard and fell asleep.

She seemed to have a dream again.

She saw many things in the dream… a man repeatedly squeezing her neck, Caroline painfully trying to see the man’s face clearly… yet under the light she couldn’t see the real appearance—there was a particularly unique tattoo on his chest.

She continued to struggle frantically, but her hands and feet seemed firmly grasped by something… hands, several men’s arms.

Suddenly, a man walked over with something in his hands, he retrieved the stuff inside and grinned wickedly… They seemed to be discussing something.

But Caroline could only see these, she couldn’t hear any sound.

Then the newcomer and the man squeezing her neck seemed to have exchanged a few words, then he bent over—he stuffed something into his mouth.

Caroline finally saw the man’s face… it was the Boss of Boston!

She wouldn’t forget this face, it was the appearance of this mob boss that made her already terrible life even worse…

Nightmare.

“Ah—!!!!”

Caroline abruptly opened her eyes, on the cold kitchen floor, a cockroach crawled by. Caroline instinctively stood up and swiftly stepped on the cockroach.

She held onto the kitchen counter, feeling like after such a nightmare it was as if she had sex with four or five men the entire day, exhausted and feeble.

Caroline clung to the wall, walked into the restaurant bathroom, she washed her face, seemed a lot better.

She looked at herself in the mirror, her neck with obvious bruises from being squeezed by ‘Second Cousin’. She also saw her eyes, the whites surrounded with blood, terribly red, looking like a ghost, terrifying.

Caroline frowned, almost pressed up against the mirror on the sink, using her fingers to open her eyelids, looking at her eyeballs, worried if her eyes would have any problems.

Suddenly, she saw a frightening flame, like a volcanic eruption, directly pushing the bathroom door open.

The flame devoured her, she even saw herself burning to black ashes in the blaze… eyeballs, still so red.

Caroline shivered… She was still in the bathroom, the faucet left running with the sound of water rushing.

Caroline parted her lips… suddenly remembered something, dashed out, running back to the kitchen!

At this moment, the scene in the kitchen made Caroline astonished—a sudden realization she forgot to turn off the gas stove.

The broth had already been boiled to bubbles, overflowed, extinguishing the flame but letting gas escape… the whole kitchen was filled with the smell of gas.

Caroline hurriedly shut off the gas valve, then opened the kitchen exhaust fan, waiting until the gas dispersed almost entirely before breathing a sigh of relief.

Caroline secretly said a close call in her heart… If any spark suddenly appeared, she might have been…

Really a scare without consequence.

Caroline shook her head, only feeling dizzy, her body extremely fatigued, slowly walking out of the kitchen to the restaurant sofa, lying down, falling to sleep again shortly after.

Silent, silent, quietly silent, only the sound of the clock tick-tocking in the front hall of the restaurant.

Suddenly, a mosquito buzzed by, after sucking Caroline’s blood, it staggered and flew away. It flew to the kitchen front, suddenly attracted by something.

That’s the mosquito exterminator lamp.

The mosquito suddenly bumped into it… crack, the electric grid instantly burned its body to blackness, sparks fell.

Didn’t trigger anything.
