Chapter 788: Chapter 32: The Title Guy Doesn’t Want to Work Today

In terms of form, the operation resembles the virtual game world jointly created by the maid and Tai Yinzi.

Sell a single product, allowing customers willing to buy this item to make their purchase.

Of course, this time it’s not a product actively created by the club. It just happens to be a situation desired by more than a few people.

Product name: Survival.

For survival, humans can often give up many things—I’m about to die; is there anything worth holding onto?

Such is the natural thought of the masses.

Fear and despair, growing in the atmosphere within this huge concert hall, have already driven the hostages’ desire to survive to the peak as time passes.

The police have shown no signs of action, isolated from the outside, and every second feels like it’s agonizingly dragging on like the year-end. The pervasive shadows in their hearts refuse to disperse, breeding evil thoughts.

Who can save me?

Even the devil will do…

…

Outside the theater—on the rooftop of a building opposite the theater, the maid who has just finished a delicious Pastel looks at Boss Luo, “There are four hundred and seventy-nine hostages, and out of them, two hundred and sixty-three are willing to purchase the ‘Survival’ service.”

This equals doing just one thing and reaping the transaction gold of two hundred and sixty-three customers. Though in quality it may not match the boutique deals Boss Luo has done before, in sheer quantity it definitely ranks among the top three businesses he’s handled.

“Should we continue waiting, Master?” The maid’s eyes gleamed brightly.

The task of accepting orders naturally fell to her. The typical Black soul envoy doesn’t have the maid’s complex calculating prowess to contact all the hostages and finalize the contracts with two hundred and sixty-three, equating to dispersing substantial amounts of spiritual power, with one for each customer.

This is no longer within the domain of simply multitasking.

“The police have already started to act.” Luo Qiu shook his head at this moment, “No one knows if the police’s rescue operation will provoke the criminals. In the midst of conflict, if already contracted customers get harmed, it would mean we’ve failed… There’s no need to wait.”

Of course, he could wait until the last moment, even until tomorrow, as long as every customer gets something akin to a protective shield, ensuring they’re untouched even by the clash and explosion.

However, the cost he has to pay will be significantly higher, and afterwards he’ll need to mitigate the impact of such miraculous events, turning it entirely into a loss-making venture.

Additionally, the pricing this time is surprisingly reasonable—the price for each customer only requires payment of “three months of life span.”

Is three months of life span much or not? It’s subjective; some face a major illness, which often drains their own essence, qi, and spirit, and if they don’t get good recuperation and supplementation afterwards, they can indeed have a shorter lifespan in old age.

But this simultaneously completes just one matter.

Yet as life span is the most inexpensive among transaction gold, strictly speaking, the earnings are minimal; fortunately, the sheer quantity of orders makes it barely acceptable.

Boss Luo waved his hand, and multiple places in front of him began to distort. From the whirlpools, something seemed to be emerging… those were all the explosives buried in the theater by the criminals.

“Replacement.” Boss Luo snapped his fingers again.

Each piece of treasure filled with explosives suddenly separated into a large amount of gray powdery material, then new items were filled in.

What replaced them was a crude black gunpowder. If so many explosive packs exploded simultaneously, the power would equate to… setting off a thirty-thousand firecracker.

The boss then gently pushed with his hand, and these explosive packs extracted from the spatial whirlpool slowly returned to the whirlpool, eventually restoring tranquility.

“Then, even if Roger presses the detonator, it won’t cause any casualties.” Boss Luo chuckled, “What’s left is merely their guns… You Ye, take a walk.”

Completing product delivery with minimal effort, profiting more by following circumstances, Boss Luo shook his head.

He seemed to hear a joyful laugh resonating in his brain, the altar fantasy voiced as loli saying: This is the right way to open it!!

Well, perhaps once in a while he could indulge this insatiable altar.

The boss smiled knowingly, watching as You Ye, having changed back to her work attire, leaped towards the theater, suddenly taking out the Golden Suhar Camera, just to capture this moment.

Let it be called… Traces under the Lunar Shadow?

…

…

What surprised Bucky is, Song Haoran’s other two men, are they both combat beasts?

Although Batu was killed, and his equipment blown, the three guys Oni and Lluvia dealt with were also armed to the teeth dangerous individuals!

This pair of men and women managed to silently resolve these three, Bucky didn’t even hear any gunshots.

“Are you… mercenaries?” Bucky suddenly reached this conclusion.

Ordinary recruits, like those previously under him, were just idle individuals picked up from society or poor kids. These can only be trained for basic combat and wouldn’t possess such formidable fighting skills.

Only mercenaries who’ve faced life and death, or soldiers trained within the army could perform such feats—Oni and Lluvia obviously weren’t the latter, or else would Song Haoran say those cooperative words to me?

“What do you think Roger will plan next?” Song Haoran asked, instead of answering, “Will he suspect you or not?”

Bucky’s face turned somber; either way, betraying Roger equates to being sold out—though in the gray world, betrayal is commonplace, didn’t Roger sell out his old man before?

Common doesn’t equal accepting it gladly when you’re the one betrayed though!

Young Roger would certainly shoot me… Seems Song Haoran’s treacherous ship is impossible to disembark from, let’s hope it doesn’t capsize.

“I think, he’ll send someone for further confirmation.” Bucky considered this most likely.

Song Haoran’s eyes twinkled, “Why not he himself, decisively with a swift action?”

“Won’t he?” Bucky hesitated slightly.

“Soon, you’ll find out…” Song Haoran smiled nonchalantly, then showed a grin: “Now, let me meet Mr. Billy… Lluvia, invite Mr. Billy, please be polite.”

Within ten seconds, Oni and Lluvia had brought three embarrassed men before Song Haoran. Two were bodyguards; one’s arm was bleeding, the injury not too serious.

As for Mr. Billy, he was pale-faced, clearly frightened but calmly collected as a party leader nevertheless. In his forties, Mr. Billy, at the peak of his career, naturally had the aura of a bigwig.

“Which department are you from?”

In Mr. Billy’s view, these people were skilled, having fought with the criminals and saved him, thus tentatively classified as not-enemies. Yet, he wasn’t sure if they were friendlies either.

Song Haoran said, “Let’s not talk about those things for now. Mr. Billy, we’ve successfully gotten Dr. Ferenc out. Please follow me next.”

“Doctor!” Mr. Billy was taken aback and then smiled with delight, nodding in surprise. “Thank you. No matter who you are, I won’t forget your kindness once I’m safe.”

He could tell that Song Haoran was deliberately hiding his identity. Given the current dangers, he wasn’t one to fuss over details, so he went with the flow.

At that moment…

Da da da, da da da!!!

The urgent sound was that of gunshots, accompanied by a loud voice: “Bucky! Come out! I know you wouldn’t die so easily! Bucky!”

“It’s Roger! He’s here!” Bucky’s eyes widened with terror as he looked in the direction of the gunshots, taking an involuntary step back.

“Quicker than I imagined,” Song Haoran squinted, moving towards the source of the gunshots.

“Wait, what do you intend to do?” Mr. Billy’s injured bodyguard couldn’t help but frown and said, “At this moment, it’s unwise for us to confront the opponents head-on! We should go this way!”

He pointed to the other end of the corridor.

Song Haoran said softly, “When you want to corner someone, do you blatantly tell them you’re there?”

The bodyguard was taken aback, frowning, “You mean he’s deliberately telling us his position so we divert to the other side… and then ambush us?”

“Can you follow me now?” Song Haoran smiled slightly.

But the bodyguard hesitated, “That’s just your guess. What makes you so sure? What if he originally intended for us to think this way? We don’t know how many they have. Even if there’s the slightest chance, we can’t put Mr. Billy in danger.”

“In fact, you’re already in great danger,” Song Haoran said nonchalantly. “Opportunities don’t wait for people. If you miss it, you miss it. So, I don’t plan to waste time persuading you here. Whether to follow me or not, the decision is in your hands… Mr. Billy?”

“We… we might climb down to the next floor from the VIP lounge’s balcony,” another bodyguard suddenly suggested.

Oni sneered, “Go ahead, climb down! There are at least seven or eight guns waiting for you below in the concert hall. If they still can’t hit such an obvious target, they must be blind! Did you not graduate from bodyguard school?”

“You!!”

“Enough!” Mr. Billy interjected sternly, then looked at Song Haoran seriously, “I trust you this once, I’ll follow you.”

“I admire your courage.” Song Haoran sincerely remarked, “Great men cherish their reputation, and Mr. Billy’s bravery is quite different.”

Mr. Billy, however, smiled bitterly, “You definitely won’t go that way, and my bodyguards and I are exhausted. If we encounter the bandits again, we surely can’t handle it. Moreover, separating now doesn’t benefit us. Young man, I hope your judgment doesn’t push me into the fire; I also hope I can repay you in the future, rather than resent you after death.”

“If Mr. Billy could look after my business a bit more in the future, that would be enough,” Song Haoran grinned wickedly, appearing relaxed.

Despite this, he still took a P-90 from Oni’s hand, which had been seized earlier.

…

“Boss, do you think they’ll charge towards us?”

A burly man grinned ferociously, his finger constantly on the trigger of his gun, aiming at the end of the corridor, waiting for prey to appear.

“The ambush on the other side is set up by Mingo. No matter where the big fish swim, they can’t escape.” Roger sneered, “I want to be back in ten minutes.”

“Boss, it seems there’s movement!”

“Wait, don’t shoot!” came a terrified shout.

Emerging from the corridor was Bucky! Bucky looked ghastly, his face and clothes covered in dark red sticky liquid, resembling a bloodied man.

“Young Roger, it’s me, don’t shoot!” Bucky raised his hands high, his legs trembling as he approached Roger and his men.

Roger, accompanied by three subordinates, coldly watched Bucky, seemingly pondering something, suddenly asking, “Are they behind you?”

“Young Roger, please don’t shoot…” Bucky nodded nervously while slightly tilting his head back, revealing the person behind him.

It was Song Haoran—holding a P-90 against Bucky’s back, his gaze finally meeting Roger’s as Bucky slightly shifted aside.

“Young Roger, don’t shoot!”

An eerie silence engulfed the atmosphere, broken only by Bucky’s trembling voice. Bucky, step by step, cautiously moved toward Roger and his men, while Song Haoran, maintaining a distance of less than two feet from Bucky, also advanced slowly, using Bucky as a shield.

“I don’t like being threatened by enemies.”

Within five meters, Roger suddenly snorted coldly, and simultaneously, the sound of guns being loaded echoed.

“But I just want to leave safely,” Song Haoran said through gritted teeth, looking tense, “There are so many hostages below; my presence or absence doesn’t make a big difference. I just want to leave. This guy is important to you, right? Don’t lose him over my worthless life.”

Roger squinted and suddenly asked, “Are you Mr. Billy’s bodyguard?”

Song Haoran nodded, “Mr. Billy got shot; he’s hiding in the water bar on the third floor. You can have someone find him.”

Roger sneered, “Betraying your employer, you seem to be a very unqualified bodyguard.”

Song Haoran replied nonchalantly, “No amount of money matters if you’re not alive to enjoy it. Survival is most important… so, just step aside and let me leave safely, and I promise not to harm a hair on this guy. Otherwise…”

He flashed a sinister smile, “Otherwise, I’ll drag him down with me.”

Roger’s expression remained grim. He narrowed his eyes, fixating on Song Haoran, but suddenly picked up the walkie-talkie, “Mingo, Mingo! The big fish are at the third-floor corridor water bar, go check! Mingo, respond, OVER!”

Crackle.

The walkie-talkie emitted static sounds.

“Bo…Boss…Mingo…fired at us…he’s…a mole…”

Hearing the voice from the walkie-talkie, Roger’s face abruptly changed, stunned as if he couldn’t digest the information!

At the same time, throughout the concert hall, the entire theater’s lights were suddenly cut off—the main power seemed to have been shut down!

Bang bang—bang bang—bang bang—!

“Boss, the police suddenly attacked us…they know our ambush spot…Bos—ah—”

In the dark, another voice came from the walkie-talkie.

With the lights completely gone, by instinct, Bucky immediately crouched, as in that very moment of darkness, Song Haoran and Roger’s men started exchanging fire!

Amidst the gunfire, after hearing the second walkie-talkie message, Bucky felt like a thousand alpacas were running through his mind: Damn it! There’s really a mole inside! I was just saying it to save my own skin…
