765: Chapter 9: Someone Like Me 765: Chapter 9: Someone Like Me ‘Iris’ is an underground armed group active in Latin America.

In theory, the nature of ‘Iris’ is quite similar to international mercenaries.

However, unlike mercenaries, ‘Iris’ has its own controlled territories.

So strictly speaking, describing ‘Iris’ as warlords is also acceptable.

Additionally, unlike other mercenaries who go wherever there’s business, ‘Iris’ generally does not leave the South American region.

From arms to drugs, even to overthrowing the government of a small country, ‘Iris’ can provide its partners with very satisfactory results.

Legend has it that the master behind ‘Iris’ seems to be an Eastern person, but exactly what nationality this Eastern person originally is remains a mystery.

But regardless of whether they are Eastern or not, it doesn’t matter to forces seeking to cooperate with ‘Iris’—because the ‘Iris’ legion has spent nearly thirty years proving to all the shady forces and party individuals in Latin America that there’s nothing they can’t do.

Of course, efficiency, guaranteed success, and good reputation also mean high costs.

Hiring ‘Iris’ or purchasing something from ‘Iris’ comes with the expectation of making significant sacrifices.

Before coming to Big Boss Neymar, Joseph’s BOSS had already instructed him not to have any conflicts with people sent by ‘Iris’, even if the deal is not struck in the end, there should be no unpleasantness—because just like their good reputation is trusted, the terrifying retaliation of ‘Iris’ also makes people tremble with fear.

Joseph’s BOSS this time also spent a considerable price to invite Neymar to contact people from ‘Iris’, resulting in this meeting.

The actions of a district boss naturally attract a lot of attention, so Joseph’s boss cannot easily leave his territory—this boss has numerous enemies.

If he leaves his turf, he’s likely to face terrifying attacks, making staying alive a challenge, let alone attending a meeting, so he sent his trusted confidant, Joseph.

At this moment, after a simple introduction, Joseph, under Neymar’s invitation, sat down next to Song Haoran.

Before he could speak, Big Boss Neymar poured several glasses of Cachaca (a type of cane spirit) to liven up the atmosphere. “Cachaca, haha, I love its sweetness.” Song Haoran leisurely picked up his wine glass. “Song, my good friend!

Next time, I’ll have someone deliver a fine case to you as a souvenir!” Neymar laughed heartily, “But for now, why not listen to what my other friend Joseph has to say?” “Of course, your friend is naturally my friend.” Song Haoran then looked at Joseph, raised his glass, and said, “Mr.

Joseph, I hope we have a pleasant conversation ahead.” “I also hope to become friends with you ‘Iris’ people.” Joseph smiled slightly, “I’m sorry, due to some special reasons, my BOSS couldn’t come personally.”

Song Haoran said calmly, “We understand, so it’s not a problem.”

Leaders of various forces naturally need to be in a safe environment—whether out of fear of death or to maintain the stability of a force, it’s the same, including the master behind ‘Iris’ who never easily shows up. “Mr.

Song, it’s astounding that at such a young age, you’ve become an adviser of ‘Iris’.” Joseph directly complimented him at this time.

It could be seen that he seemed quite unaccustomed to giving such compliments; his expression was somewhat unnatural.

Song Haoran was not bothered and casually said, “It’s nothing special, I’m just someone who runs errands outside…

So, Mr.

Joseph, I heard from my friend Neymar that your boss intends to purchase a good batch of goods from us…

I wonder what you mean by ‘good’ specifically?” “Enough to arm two hundred and fifty people, and according to a regular army’s configuration!” Joseph stated directly.

Song Haoran glanced indifferently at Neymar, while Neymar, now an aged leader with no ambitions and semi-retired, furrowed his brows and subconsciously asked, “Arming two hundred and fifty people?

Joseph, this isn’t something needed for small skirmishes…

What on earth is your BOSS planning?” “Big Boss Neymar, I’m here just to discuss business.” Joseph shook his head, “Whatever our boss wants to do, he has his own plans, even I can’t know too much.”

Yeah right!

Neymar sneered in his heart but didn’t press further.

The interests among various slums were intricately complex.

Although not in an antagonistic relationship with Joseph’s area, they could neither be called allies, only neighbours with decent relations visiting each other from time to time. “Arming two hundred and fifty people isn’t a small number.” Song Haoran at this point toyed with a silver ring on his forefinger, looking at Joseph with a faint smile, “Mr.

Joseph, you should know this country has tightened up a lot recently, right?

Especially after the Olympics were just held here…

Although some places have started to relax, the resistance is much stronger than before.” “Price is not an issue.” Joseph said quite boldly, “Also, I have faith in the ability of ‘Iris’.

Otherwise, ‘Iris’ wouldn’t have become a myth in Latin America.”

Song Haoran was silent for a while before he suddenly said, “Besides, I wonder if there’s anything else Mr.

Joseph needs?”

Upon hearing this, Joseph’s eyes suddenly lit up, and he licked his lips, asking directly, “Can you get heavy firepower?

For instance…

RPGs?” “We have a batch of decent javelin missiles on hand lately, but I can’t go cheap on the price.” Song Haoran thought for a moment. “Javelin missiles?

What kind of goods?

If they’re British, we don’t want them!” Joseph’s eyes gleamed. “Of course, they’re American.” Song Haoran chuckled.

Joseph grinned viciously, “Like I said, price is not an issue!

We could even barter with our products if you wish!”

However, Song Haoran shook his head, “We’ve already got samples of your goods over there, the purity isn’t great, hard to sell.

Better to use cash, and we only take US dollars or euros, as you should know.” “Of course!

Then, regarding the price?” Joseph asked again.

Song Haoran replied, “We’ll discuss the price in a bit…

But first, please allow me to use the restroom, I think I might have had too much water on the flight.”

With that, Song Haoran stood up, adjusted his clothes, and headed towards the restroom in the room.

Joseph furrowed his brows and, only after Song Haoran entered the restroom, did he focus on Neymar, whispering, “Big Boss Neymar, it seems this Mr.

Song isn’t the decision-maker.”

Neymar, however, lowered his voice and said, “Believe me, my friend, Song is the one who can make decisions, he might really just need to use the restroom.”

Yeah right!

Joseph pondered silently, but he was aware that Neymar was an old fox, even if well-paid, he might not fully exert himself.

Had it not been for his own boss being forced with no options, having to rely on Neymar to connect with ‘Iris’, his boss would never have sought Neymar out.

Feeling somewhat frustrated, Joseph sipped the Cachaca in his glass. … …

Caroline realized once again that a man shouldn’t be judged solely by his appearance.

She hadn’t even reached the peak of excitement yet… this burly man had already lost his armor, lying on top of her, panting, and even had the gall to ask some idiot questions like whether he was strong and powerful.

But considering the tip this man gave, she didn’t mind indulging him a bit, even thoughtfully cleaning his “weapon” afterward with her mouth.

Many men loved this move, and naturally, Caroline received a second tip from this man.

She gave the man a peck on the cheek, got dressed, and left, planning to head back to the poolside to see if she could find another target.

The fee for a private party was fixed, certainly much higher than simple one-time or two-time transactions.

But if she could earn more tips during the same amount of time, it would be even better.

Otherwise, Livia wouldn’t have gone to a room with two men.

Livia’s highest record was being with four men at once…

Caroline knew Livia had a strange idea of becoming a porn star.

She seemed to have slept with many so-called producers, but still hadn’t found a way in.

Just stepping out of the neighboring room was Livia’s battlefield.

The door was ajar, allowing a glimpse inside.

Caroline peeked through the crack.

On the bed, Livia was lying on her stomach, with a man behind her thrusting hard, even slapping her butt.

Livia, skilled in her responses, let out seductive moans while using her mouth to quickly serve another man standing by the bed.

Livia seemed to notice Caroline peeking through the door crack, so she winked, conveying a message: I’ll be done with these two soon!

Caroline nodded, gently closing the door—she ran her fingers through her hair, suddenly frowning.

The tips of her hair felt sticky, and Caroline looked annoyed—this sticky stuff was, of course, the remnant of the man’s rough finish on her face.

Perhaps I should clean up before heading back to the poolside.

This house of Mr.

Neymar lacked a hostess.

It’s said he had a wife and children, but they resided elsewhere.

This place was mostly where Mr.

Neymar and his men lived.

As for parties like these, guests could use the open rooms freely—as long as they didn’t go upstairs in the villa.

Even if someone wished to go up, they’d have to check with the two bodyguards stationed at the staircase.

From afar, Caroline glanced at the guys smoking by the stairs, threw a teasing glance their way, making the bodyguards gaze intensely, before walking into an unoccupied room.

Although empty, the bed appeared messy, evidence of a recent man-woman battle, yet the bathroom seemed unused.

Caroline thought, “Lucky.”

For some reason, she didn’t like using a bathroom someone else recently used without cleaning.

Pulling back the shower curtain, Karo planned to make sure nobody outside was peeking—in fact, she didn’t mind being seen, what mattered was being seen without any benefit.

She wasn’t in the habit of showing her body to men for free.

Outside the bathroom lay a pleasant courtyard, peaceful and comfy.

Karo whistled, contemplating whether to lure the next target here.

Perhaps doing it outdoors could thrill them more… and result in a bigger tip?

Thinking along these lines, Caroline felt someone watching her… she instinctively looked up towards the upper level across, spotting someone looking into this bathroom window.

That man…

Caroline was startled, recognizing him as Joseph, a close subordinate to the leader of a neighboring territory, whom Livia had mentioned.

In truth, Caroline preferred not to do business with high-ranking gang members—associating with them meant getting entangled in danger.

She didn’t want to be in bed with such a guy when a mob barges in for revenge—a daily occurrence in this city.

The last resort of refusal was closing the bathroom curtain.

However, what frightened Caroline was Joseph’s pained expression—he even crazily pounded on the glass with his palm!

A small knife had been thrust into Joseph’s neck from the side, blood splattering directly onto the glass!

Simultaneously, Caroline noticed another face.

A man… looked like an Eastern person?

Did he see me? … …

Caroline, still trembling, recalled the scene a few hours earlier—the stinging feel imposed by the pretty maid at the club—had long faded.

Naturally, wary of that sensation, she dared not tease the club’s boss sitting before her, keeping every decorum.

Before her were numerous dishes, aromatic and appealing, served by the maid.

Yet, Caroline lacked appetite, nervously eyeing the club’s boss.

Merely a powerless sex worker from the slum, with no backing, dying on the streets without anyone to claim her—leaving this mysterious shop might mean she’s captured by the men searching for her.

Her fate would likely only be one.

She knew only this young man could save her.

The listening adept Boss Luo smiled slightly after hearing Caroline’s account and said, “So, Ms.

Caroline, did you see the killer’s features, right?”

Caroline, panicked, said, “Honestly, I couldn’t see clearly… it was quite far, and the glass was bloody, a little faint.” “Unfortunate,” smiled Luo Qiu, “to encounter such a thing…

What might you want to purchase from us, Ms.

Caroline?

Protection?

Resolution to this affair, ensuring your safety?

Or perhaps… something else?” “Could I… could I have it all?” Caroline asked anxiously.

Boss Luo replied calmly, “Of course you can have it all.

Whatever you wish to buy… the key is, you need to decide what you want.” “Then… firstly, ensure the killer doesn’t trouble me!

You know, someone like me wouldn’t want to get embroiled in such trouble!

I swear I won’t say a word!” Caroline hastily said.

Someone like me.
