751: Chapter 164: The Restless Ye 751: Chapter 164: The Restless Ye The screeching sound of brakes.

On the highway, the car that stopped abruptly left two black marks, and when the driver ran out of his vehicle in panic, his face was pale.

Fortunately, he had been stopping urgently, and the car behind him was also in a state of emergency stop.

Therefore, no accident happened on the highway.

However, the driver couldn’t avoid the blame from the drivers who were forced to stop.

But this driver clearly didn’t care about being scolded, he hurriedly ran to the front of his car and looked at the man who had collapsed before his vehicle.

Since there was a bus stop nearby, quite a few people were watching.

A person lying in front of the car, with the driver’s anxious expression, easily caused others to imagine something.

The driver hurriedly explained, “I, I didn’t hit this person!

He… he suddenly fell to the ground!

I, I didn’t!

I stopped!”

But the person never regained consciousness.

The driver was worried, had no time to care about anything else, quickly lifted the man, shaking him a few times with force, yet the man was completely unresponsive.

This didn’t look like a scam…

The driver gritted his teeth, quickly took out his phone, at this time he could only choose to call the police and an ambulance for help.

The ambulance arrived even faster than the traffic police’s vehicle.

The driver suspected of the accident quickly explained the situation to the medical staff.

After the medical personnel on the ambulance confirmed that the man was indeed unconscious, the driver became even more anxious.

There was clearly no collision, but the person fell, shouldn’t have been scared… if this guy had a weak heart and got scared to death, the driver wouldn’t be able to explain even if he was justified.

Later, the traffic police arrived, hastily understood the situation, and after reviewing nearby surveillance footage with two other staff members, finally confirmed that the driver wasn’t lying.

However, the patient was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment, and whether anything had happened needed to be determined after a doctor’s diagnosis. “Officer, I really didn’t harm this person, you’ve got to believe me!” The driver looked pale, now accompanying a group of people to the hospital. “You didn’t hit him, but you were speeding, weren’t you?” The traffic police officer glared, “This is a hospital, keep it quiet!

Wait for the doctor to come out, and then see the result!”

In the anxious waiting of the unlucky driver, the emergency room doctor finally walked out, “Officer, this gentleman doesn’t have any injuries from a collision.

The reason he suddenly fainted is because his wound got infected with tetanus, which caused him to suddenly pass out.” “Tetanus?” The traffic police officer was stunned.

The doctor frowned and nodded, “The person inside, his ear was cruelly cut off by someone for unknown reasons.

But after it was cut, the wound wasn’t treated properly.

Now it’s infected, and he has tetanus.

If it wasn’t sent here in time, even an immortal couldn’t save him.” “His ear was cut off…” The traffic police officer listened, his brow deeply furrowed, trying to guess under what circumstances someone’s ear would be cut off.

Was it a vendetta, or because of something else?

However, this ear cutting method seemed like something only some extreme hoodlums on the street would do.

The traffic police officer realized this matter was somewhat beyond his duties, so he simply reported it directly.

But the driver wasn’t concerned about these matters, worried about something happening to this man, “Doctor, will the person inside get better?” “It was sent in time, the life is saved.” The doctor exhaled, clearly under immense pressure during the rescue, “Well, try to contact his family to complete the admission procedures for him first.”

This driver thought for a moment, knowing some of the tough rules and lack of compassion in the hospital, he feared delaying treatment, if something happens later, the family of that man might come after him unendingly.

He could only grit his teeth and say, “Why don’t I help him with the admission procedures first… and Officer, you saw it, could you please help too?” “Alright… okay.” The traffic police officer thought for a moment and nodded in agreement.

They happened to find a wallet among the patient’s belongings, with his ID: Liu Zixing.

After everything was completed, the driver sat down tiredly, calling his family, “Sigh… it’s not like I want this!

I don’t know who’s more unlucky, me or that guy.

If you’re injured, you shouldn’t be running around!

Now he has tetanus, nearly died, got people involved…

I’ll talk later, the traffic officer is coming…

Officer, have you contacted his family?”

The traffic officer now had a strange look, also somewhat angry, “Yes, we found them, but they’re not coming.

As soon as they heard there’s no life danger, they didn’t care anymore.

Instead, they sent some money over for treatment, considered as doing their duty… even his mother, I’ve never seen a mother like this!” “Then… what should I do?” The driver hurriedly asked. “Hmm, why don’t you go back first, I see there’s nothing much to do here, you wrote your statement, just keep your phone available these days, ensure we can contact you.” The traffic police officer thought for a while, feeling the driver wasn’t a big problem, keeping him around served no purpose.

The driver thought for a moment, feeling it still wasn’t that safe, so he gritted his teeth and said, “How about this, I’ll wait here for him to wake up!

What if his family comes back later?

This is unpredictable!

At least have him wake up, make it clear face to face, it’s his problem, I didn’t hit him, nor scare him!” “Fine.” The traffic police officer agreed.

In fact, he had just reported this matter, intending to hand it over to the police station, but something unknown happened tonight, all the city’s police officers were mobilized, saying there was an emergency overtime to capture a dangerous fugitive or something.

He received notice, even the traffic police department was mobilized. “I have something to do, you stay here, if this person wakes up, notify me, here’s my contact number…” The traffic police officer wrote down a phone number, “The money his family sent is deposited at the hospital, rest assured.”

The driver nodded, accepting his bad luck.

After the traffic police officer left, the driver bought some food randomly, then stayed by Liu Zixing’s hospital bed, thinking of knowing immediately when this guy wakes up.

As he looked at Liu Zixing in a coma, he glanced at the bandaged area on his ear, frowning continuously.

The driver thought Liu Zixing had smooth skin, didn’t seem like someone doing heavy work, how did he end up like this?

Thinking about it, he sat on the folding chair, and slowly drifted off to sleep. … …

Wang Yuechuan gave the document on the computer screen one last look, then directly pulled out the USB drive.

He didn’t follow the instructions of 18 to destroy the USB drive, instead, he removed the computer’s hard drive in the room, preparing to take it away.

Wang Yuechuan glanced at the time; it was almost ten o’clock.

But ever since 18 left, the phone he handed over hadn’t rung.

Without further instructions, Wang Yuechuan also wasn’t clear on how he should proceed with his actions.

Just as he was planning to sort out the events of the day, he suddenly heard the sound of police sirens from outside.

Wang Yuechuan quickly pressed himself next to the window, leaning to look down from the window.

He saw that two police cars had already pulled up downstairs, and several officers had already gotten out of the cars, looking up.

Wang Yuechuan frowned.

He trusted the police’s efficiency, but at this moment, it seemed like those guys downstairs were too efficient; perhaps someone had leaked his whereabouts… could it be 18?

Wang Yuechuan didn’t have time to think it over in detail.

Initially, before he received this mission, he only escaped to avoid leaking the contents of The Book of the Dead.

Now, he couldn’t be caught because he needed to complete a confidential task he wasn’t fully aware of.

Wang Yuechuan looked downstairs again and saw another police car arrive…

Officer Ma’s car.

That Old Ma is not an easy person to deal with.

Although Wang Yuechuan didn’t agree with Officer Ma’s way of handling things, he had to admit that Old Ma was indeed formidable.

At this moment, there was a sudden knock on the room’s door, causing Wang Yuechuan to tense up all over.

But then he heard someone outside say, “Guest, could you open the door?

The police are outside, saying they need to check the fire safety.

But it’s fine, our boss knows them well, they’ll be quick…” … “Have they found the person who provided the tip?”

Officer Ma glanced at the entrance of Lanling Mansion ahead and directly asked Lin Feng next to him.

Lin Feng shook his head, “They used a public phone, couldn’t find the person.”

Officer Ma hit his forehead, “It’s strange, Wang Yuechuan just left, and then there’s a tip-off, almost like it was arranged.” “Hearing you say that…” Li Feng mumbled, “But Officer Ma, even the leadership above our leaders said that if necessary, it’s okay to shoot him.

Can they play out the drama like this?

Besides, Officer Ma, do you think Wang Yuechuan might have offended some big leader, to prompt such an order…” “That kid came on his own, and he’s already been mysterious after just a few days, appearing and disappearing like a Divine Dragon.

Who knows what he’s been up to in secret?” Officer Ma shook his head, “But since we received orders from above, let’s act as instructed.”

With that, Officer Ma walked into Lanling Mansion, “I want you all to keep a close watch!

Search every place thoroughly!

Until I call off the search, don’t let anyone leave this place!” “Who are you!

Do you know who I am?

Hurry and take your people away!” A drunken young man emerged, with a scantily clad woman in his arms, and shouted loudly in displeasure, “I tell you, I’m very familiar with your director!!”

Officer Ma waved his hand, “Someone sober this guy up for me?

If he’s not sober, strip him and toss him outside to let the wind blow on him!” “Wait… what are you doing?!

Do you know who I am?!

I am… let go of me!

Let go of me!

My uncle is Judge Wu of the city!!

Let go of me!!”

Watching the guy get taken away, Officer Ma rolled his eyes, giving an expression of care as if for a severely injured person: “Isn’t the 18th Party Congress long over?

How can there still be idiots like this?”

Lin Feng repeatedly agreed… he wouldn’t dare say, if it were someone else, they’d usually give some face, but not you, sir, you don’t even care. “Report!

We’ve checked all the rooms, but found nothing!” “Report!

Nothing at the back door either!”

Soon, officers came to report the search progress to Officer Ma.

Officer Ma was guarding the lobby, listening with increasing frowns, “No one?

Did he grow wings and fly away?

Or was the report false?

Did you ask clearly?” “Officer Ma, we asked clearly.

Based on the employees’ description, Wang Yuechuan should have been here.

But when we went to that room, it was empty, and there were signs of a slight struggle.

However, the window wasn’t broken; he shouldn’t have escaped through it.” “Could he have turned invisible?” Officer Ma’s eyes widened, “Search thoroughly again for me!

Even if you have to turn this place upside down!

Also, where’s the person in charge here?

Why haven’t they come over yet?” “Officer, I’m here, I’m here!” A slightly chubby man in his thirties, wearing a suit and full of smiles, hurriedly came over to Officer Ma, “Here I am!”

The person in charge was quite frustrated.

Honestly, this Lanling Mansion is a place operated by some of the city’s influential heirs in partnership; usually, not even the police or the fire department would come checking.

But once those normally arrogant youngsters heard Officer Ma’s name, they all said they were busy, deferring it for later… “Officer, we operate legally here, not doing anything illegal!” “We’re here to catch someone, why are you in such a hurry!” Officer Ma snorted coldly, “Don’t let me catch you, clueless, calling your boss for help, right?” “Officer, no, no!

I’m just busy, busy!” “I don’t care whether you did or not!” Officer Ma continued to snort coldly, “Whether we catch the fugitive today or not, I’m going to scrutinize this place!

I suspect you’re involved in soliciting prostitution!” “Officer!

No, Officer!!

You can’t do this!

This is… this is slander!!

This is false accusation!!

I can sue you!” “Lin Feng, jot down my employee ID for this guy, let him sue, let him sue to his heart’s content!” Officer Ma squinted, “Now, gather all of the employees here for me!

Even the janitors!” “Employees?” Lin Feng was stunned, “Officer Ma, are you suggesting Wang Yuechuan might have slipped in among the staff?” “Leave no possibility unexplored!

Quickly!” Officer Ma stood with hands on hips, his eyes surveying the lobby like an eagle. …

In a corner of the lobby, a waiter lowered their head, quietly walking backwards, looking slightly grave. “At this moment, I’d rather you were just an average loafer…”

The waiter lowered their head, hurriedly heading towards the elevator in front. “Hey, you up front, stop right there for me!”

But before the waiter reached the elevator, a sharp voice suddenly came from behind.

Officer Ma frowned, striding quickly forward, and commanded sternly, “Turn around!”
