779: Chapter 23: The Theater’s Main Act 779: Chapter 23: The Theater’s Main Act ‘Lomonsk·Layton’ Corporation, one of the world’s top ten military corporations, is undeniably an industry giant.

Just think, a company that takes on military satellite launches for the world’s foremost superpower; its background is immensely robust.

The owner behind this enterprise would likely be welcomed with courtesy by the leaders of many countries.

The world superpower is controlled from behind the scenes by multiple financial conglomerates, and ‘Lomonsk·Layton’ is naturally among them.

The person who arrived in Rio this time is a talented young man from the Layton Family, the real power behind the company.

As for this prodigy, he accompanied a delegation from Columbia…

Interestingly, this talented young man from the Layton Family even managed to secure the identity of a member of the delegation. “A secret satellite launch vehicle technology development agreement?”

After hearing You Ye’s report, Boss Luo pondered silently—the concert below had just come to a pause.

It was actually because the concert had paused that You Ye seized the moment to brief her master on the intelligence she had gathered. “For the world’s most powerful nation to consider jointly developing this technology with a country so far behind in technology?” Luo Qiu shook his head, “It should be called a technology sale, more appropriately.”

The maid smiled slightly, “The person negotiating this matter with the Layton Family seems to be a key figure from this country’s opposition party.”

Boss Luo nodded, suddenly raising an eyebrow, “I heard the current president of this country was impeached recently due to a corruption case but managed to survive.” “Even so, not much of his term is left,” You Ye nodded, “So, the opposition wants to acquire this technology to strengthen their leverage before the next election.

However, this technology should be quite outdated.” “Even outdated technology is still desirable for countries that don’t have it,” Luo Qiu said calmly, “Technology, as long as it remains ahead, is fine.

After all, technological progress cannot be suppressed.

Instead of leaving it to gather dust, it’s better to extract its remaining value—this is the capitalist’s right approach…

But since it involves satellites, something reflecting national power, perhaps the Layton Family’s actions this time are extremely confidential?

Maybe it’s even a personal endeavor?” “They’re focused on this country’s mineral and oil resource development, and the Layton Family seems intent on establishing a foothold in this country’s economic lifeline.

After all, it’s one of the BRICS countries, rich in resources, and its geographical environment is highly favorable,” the maid stated.

Boss Luo nodded, at which moment, he casually swept his hand before him, causing three oval light screens to appear.

On each light screen, an image of a man was reflected.

They were among the guests sitting in the hall below.

As for these three men’s gazes, they occasionally darted towards this VIP box.

Luo Qiu blinked, instantly understanding, and softly said, “FBI agents?

Looks like the Layton Family’s actions weren’t unnoticed…”

Boss Luo glanced again at the men asleep in their backseat positions, and with interest, said, “I wonder if Song Haoran’s mission has anything to do with this matter?

Hmm… knowing everything at once would be uninteresting.

Let’s gradually watch how developments unfold.

But…” “Hmm?” The maid cast a curious glance.

Luo Qiu smiled, “Don’t you find destinies interesting?

My father was a selfless policeman who died in duty.

Yet his brother became a mercenary leader abroad, committing all sorts of crimes and killing without restraint.”

He, however, as a descendant of this bloodline, chose a completely different path.

The sound of the orchestra rose…

Symphony-no.9 (Great) ii

Majestic, full of vigor and enthusiasm. … …

They refer to the leader of ‘Iris’ as the old man, which is also how Song Haoran refers to his father—meaning it’s the same for everyone.

During the concert’s intermission, Song Haoran left his seat.

The time originally planned for action had long passed.

Oni didn’t act, naturally noticing Lluvia’s gesture.

In the restroom, after confirming no one else was there, Song Haoran quickly swapped the chip in his phone for another. “Hey, old man, what’s going on?”

On the other end of the line, the old man, the leader of ‘Iris’, Song Tianyou, spoke gravely, “I just received intelligence that something will occur at the theater… Someone planted a bomb in the theater.”

Song Haoran was startled, then his expression turned serious, “Who?

How much explosives?

What about our operation this time?”

Song Tianyou, aware of the urgency, spoke faster, “Not our employer.

The bombs seem to be the work of some armed group remnants.

This concert is meant to foster exchanges between Brazil and neighboring countries, and several countries’ consuls are present.”

After listening, Song Haoran rubbed his temples, “Are they the crazies with no arms or men?

The unknown explosives certainly fit those guys’ style.

Seems like I had poor luck; the final step of the operation collides with their plan?” “According to intelligence, the bombs installed this time are enough to blow up the entire theater.

Regardless, you must evacuate immediately,” Song Tianyou hastily said, “I’ll explain the situation to our employer personally… And if the target dies directly from the explosion, we might even save quite some effort.”

Song Haoran abruptly said, “Old man, I think evacuation might be a bit difficult… this dangerous group’s feast, it seems, has begun.”

Symphony-no.9 (Great) iii

The third movement started just as Song Haoran was in the middle of talking with the old man… However, amid the high-pitched orchestral sounds, Song Haoran suddenly heard a scream. …

In almost a full house, a handsome man kept apologizing, finally seating himself beside a woman in a red evening dress… next to Lluvia.

Seeing the man take Song Haoran’s seat, Lluvia frowned in displeasure, “Oni… you should retreat immediately, what are you doing back here?”

The man… Oni, with a playboy grin, replied, “Isn’t it because the strategist left, and I was worried you might be lonely!

How about it?

Does this outfit suit me?

I just found it backstage; it should be a spare from a musician.” “Looks like a proper dog in human clothing.” Lluvia replied impatiently.

Oni was instantly delighted, “The strategist said ‘dog in human clothing’ was used to describe gentlemen; it seems really positive.”

Lluvia frowned; the phrase’s meaning was clear to anyone slightly familiar with that culture.

Clearly, Oni didn’t care much about the culture from the strategist’s mentioned homeland in most cases. “Yes, truly a gentleman in dog in human clothing.” Lluvia suppressed a laugh but quickly turned serious again, lowering her voice, “The old man sent orders to temporarily halt this operation.” “The old man?” Oni blinked.

When the old man personally gives instructions, it usually isn’t a simple matter…

He was about to speak when his shoulder was tapped by someone from the seat behind.

Oni instinctively glanced back, only to see a reproachful look from the person behind, coupled with a gesture to keep silent… the concert hall required silence.

Oni showed an apologetic expression, intending to apologize briefly, but suddenly noticed a look of shock in this person’s eyes… staring straight at the stage!

At this moment, right at the peak of the third movement, the whole orchestra abruptly stopped at this critical point!

The concert hall instantly fell silent, all attendees now intensely watching the orchestra conductor—who had collapsed on the ground, motionless.

A cellist from the orchestra rushed to the conductor’s side to check the situation.

But when he lifted the conductor, he saw a bloodstained mark on the latter’s white shirt!

Someone… at the peak moment of the movement, fired a shot and killed the conductor!

Ah——!!!!

A gorgeously dressed woman in the front row let out a panicked scream… and the screams of fear, like a plague, spread instantly!

The terrifying beginning made people so afraid, yet the truly horrific things were yet to come—as the sound of thunderous explosions was exceptionally clear in this soundproofed concert hall. “Ladies and gentlemen, we are honored to inform you that you have been kidnapped!”

The voice echoed in the concert hall… the sound system’s voice! … “So it turns out there’s a third party.”

From the position of the VIP box, Boss Luo followed the source of the surrounding voice, finally locking his gaze on a room above the stage.

That was where the stage’s lighting and sound equipment were controlled.

Song Haoran was on the assassination side.

The side was secretly conducting technology sales.

And… an unknown faction of bandits.
