Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 298: It's not the quantity of soldiers that matters, it's the quality of soldiersChapter 298: It’s not the quantity of soldiers that matters, it’s the quality of soldiers
As for how many of these H-077 bombers that have been upgraded and renovated by the 6 Mechanical Military Factory will eventually be purchased by the Yan Country Air Force, this is not something that the factory’s top management can decide.

Such a major decision requires comprehensive consideration of many factors, including the defense budget, strategic needs, and coordination with other military equipment.

For the 077 Mechanical Arsenal, their current focus is not the purchase quantity of the Yan Country Air Force.

Rather, the question is how to give full play to its own strengths, utilize existing advanced equipment and high-quality accessories, and transform the H-6 bomber into a modern fighter jet with excellent performance.

As the old saying goes: ”It’s not the number of soldiers that matters, but their quality.”

This principle also applies in modern warfare.

The deterrent power brought by a bomber with outstanding performance far exceeds that of similar models that are numerous but technologically backward.

If the performance of the bomber itself is too outdated, it will be difficult to instill fear in other countries even if the fleet is huge.

In contrast, military powers such as Russia and the United States may not have an astonishing number of bombers in their hands, but they are of high quality and are powerful.

These advanced bombers, with their excellent flying speed, powerful bomb-carrying capacity and highly intelligent combat systems, are enough to pose a huge threat to any potential adversary in the world.

This is undoubtedly the most vivid and powerful example!

It is worth mentioning that the Shenniao aviation engine independently developed by the 077 Mechanical Military Factory and installed on the H-6 modified bomber is a highlight.

This engine can be said to have integrated the essence of today’s most cutting-edge and advanced aviation power technology, and its powerful performance is amazing.

The modified H-6 bomber has become even more powerful, with its maximum flight speed successfully breaking through to an astonishing 1.2 Mach.

This major breakthrough is undoubtedly of epoch-making significance, greatly enhancing the bomber’s penetration capability and rapid strike capability on the battlefield.

Compared with the WP-8 engine used previously, the advantages of the new engine are simply incomparable.

There are only a few bombers in the world that can reach a speed as high as Mach 1.2.

When the H-6A was perfectly combined with the Shenniao aircraft engine, it easily joined this very small group, which is enough to prove the excellence of this aircraft engine.

It can increase the speed of an old H-6 bomber so much.

The fastest bomber known at present is the Russian ”White Swan” - the Tu-160 bomber, which has a maximum speed of a staggering Mach 2.

Although the Tu-160 bomber’s speed is indeed amazing, this top speed cannot last for long.

Normally, the Tu-160 bomber flies at a speed of Mach 1.2.

From this perspective, the speed of the H-6 modified aircraft will be greatly improved after being equipped with the Shenniao aviation engine.

The modified H-6 bomber has not only made great progress in speed, but also has a significant improvement in bomb load capacity.

The reason why such an outstanding improvement in bomb-carrying capacity can be achieved is ultimately due to the two powerful engines carried by the H-6 modified bomber, which continuously output surging power.

It is because of their existence that the maximum bomb load of the modified H-6 bomber has been increased from the original 12 tons to 20 tons.

……

The meeting lasted three hours and several plans were finalized.

This is only a preliminary confirmation, awaiting further in-depth research and confirmation by the senior leaders of the Yan State Air Force.

At that time, we will select the most suitable plan, and finally carry out in-depth design to design the H-6 modified bomber.

...After the meeting, Lin Chenran dragged his slightly tired body slowly back to his spacious and tidy office.

He first sat down in a comfortable office chair and closed his eyes slightly, allowing his body and brain to rest for a moment.

After a short rest, Lin Chenran opened his eyes and looked at the red telephone placed in the center of the desk.

He took a deep breath, then stretched out his right hand, steadily picked up the microphone, and then skillfully pressed a series of numbers.

Almost at the same time he dialed the number, a familiar ”beep” sound came through the telephone line and echoed in the quiet office.

Time passed minute by minute, and the ”beep beep” sound continued.

After waiting for a while, there was a crisp ”click” sound from the other end of the phone, indicating that the call was successfully connected.

In an instant, an all-too-familiar voice came from the telephone receiver, and the voice was as loud and clear as a bell.

”Lin, how is the discussion on the upgrade plan for the H-6 bomber going?”

”Are there any results?”

Mr. Lin on the other end of the phone was obviously a little impatient. He asked directly before Lin Chenran could say hello.

The performance of a bomber is one of the key factors affecting the strength of a country’s strategic deterrent force.

Hearing Elder Lin’s anxious inquiry, Lin Chenran quickly responded: ”Elder Lin, after a whole day of intense discussion and research, we have preliminarily determined the upgrade and transformation plan for the H-6 bomber.”

”There are several very good directions for improvement this time, but the final plan still needs you and the senior leaders of the Air Force to come and confirm it in person.”

After saying that, Lin Chenran did not dare to delay and immediately reported to Mr. Lin in detail the specific contents discussed in the meeting that day.

”Great, as long as there is a plan to upgrade and renovate it!”

After listening to Lin Chenran’s story, Mr. Lin said excitedly.

His weather-beaten face suddenly broke into a childlike smile.

For a long time, the relatively backward performance of the H-6 bomber has always been like a heavy stone weighing on the hearts of all the Yan Country Air Force officers and soldiers, including Mr. Lin.

Especially compared with advanced bombers of other countries, the H-6 lags far behind in performance.

How can we not be excited to know that there is a feasible upgrading and renovation plan now?

Lin Chenran said cautiously: ”The engine of the H-6 modified bomber must use the Shenniao aviation engine of our 077 Mechanical Military Factory. The previous turbojet 8 engine must be abandoned. It has already completed its mission and can be retired with honor.”

”The Divine Bird aviation engine?”

Old Lin muttered to herself, and suddenly, she seemed to have thought of something!
”Lin, isn’t the Shenniao aviation engine the ’heart’ of the Y-10 airborne early warning aircraft? It...”

”That’s right, Mr. Lin. Only the Shenniao aviation engine can meet the needs of the H-6 modified bomber.”

Directly equip the H-6 modified bomber with the Shenniao aviation engine, unless the Yan Country Air Force does not allow the 077 Mechanical Military Factory to participate in the H-6 bomber modification plan.

Otherwise, the Shenniao aviation engine must be the engine of the modified H-6 bomber.
