Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 286 Giant Wave Ballistic MissileChapter 286 Giant Wave Ballistic Missile
The 077 Mechanical Arsenal Complex Building stands tall, with the sunlight shining on its exterior walls, reflecting a dazzling light.

At this time, Lin Chenran was leading several senior managers of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory and Yang Peidong, the head of the Tianzhu Missile Department, standing there quietly waiting for the arrival of the head of the Julang ballistic missile design and development team.

Time passed minute by minute, and finally, a low roar of an engine came from far away.

I saw two military jeeps slowly driving into the complex building of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal and stopping steadily.

The car door opened immediately, and several young JL-2 ballistic missile design engineers got out first. They were all in high spirits, and exuded the rigorous temperament unique to scientific researchers.

Then, an old man got out of the car.

Although he is over 70 years old, his steps are still steady and powerful.

This old man is Mr. Lu, a famous rocket and missile control technology expert in Yan Country. He is also one of the founders of Yan Country’s aerospace industry and a well-deserved pioneer of Yan Country’s missile industry.

It can be said that he is Yan Country’s most valuable and top scientific master in the fields of aviation, rockets, and missiles.

When Lin Chenran saw Mr. Lu getting off the car, he hurried forward to support him, with a warm smile on his face, and greeted him respectfully: ”Mr. Lu, why did you come here in person? We are really flattered!”

Mr. Lu laughed heartily, his voice was loud and full of energy, and he responded jokingly: ”Haha, our Julang ballistic missile design team has been ’incorporated’, so of course I have to come and pay my respects!”

Hearing this, Lin Chenran couldn’t help scratching his head a little embarrassedly, and said quickly: ”Oh, Mr. Lu, please don’t say that, you are embarrassing us juniors!”

”It is our honor to have the opportunity to work with you!”

Suddenly everyone at the scene burst into laughter.

The atmosphere at the scene immediately became more lively, as if a bonfire was burning fiercely. The thin layer of strangeness that originally existed between everyone was like mist under the sun, which disappeared without a trace in the blink of an eye.

”Mr. Lu, please come this way!” Lin Chenran stretched out his hand with a smile on his face and carefully helped Mr. Lu walk forward.

At the same time, the staff of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal were enthusiastically providing guidance at the front.

Not long after, everyone arrived at the conference room in the 077 Mechanical Arsenal Complex Building.

The room was bright and spacious inside, with exquisite and elegant decoration and neatly arranged tables and chairs.

After everyone was seated, the host Lin Chenran walked up to the podium with a smile on his face, picked up the microphone, cleared his throat and said: ”First of all, on behalf of all the employees of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal, I would like to express my warmest welcome to the Julang ballistic missile design team!”

”Your joining will make our big family even more powerful, and will also promote the rapid development of our 077 Machinery Arsenal in the field of ballistic missiles.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the entire conference room erupted in deafening, thunderous applause.

The applause lasted for a long time, as if it would break through the roof and reach the sky.

At this time, Mr. Lu slowly stood up, his face filled with a smile of gratitude and satisfaction, then he bowed deeply to everyone present and said sincerely: ”Thank you all for your hospitality and support. It is our honor to join such an excellent group as the 077 Mechanical Arsenal!”

Seeing this scene, Lin Chenran was horrified. He hurriedly ran forward, held Elder Lu’s arm tightly with both hands, and said anxiously: ”Oh, Elder Lu, please don’t be so polite!”

”You are our Yan Nation’s true ’national treasure’. If you get bumped into by accident, I won’t be able to take the responsibility even if I have ten thousand heads!”

After a period of relaxed and pleasant chatting, the atmosphere on the scene gradually became serious. Everyone knew that they would face the core topic next. Mr. Lu slightly turned sideways and nodded to an engineer from the Julang ballistic missile design team next to him.

The engineer understood what was meant and stood up, and began to distribute a thick stack of information to everyone present.

At this time, Mr. Lu looked solemn. He sighed deeply and said slowly with a guilty look on his face: ”Alas! I really don’t live up to the country’s high expectations of us.”

”The design work of the Julang ballistic missile has been going on for more than seven years, but no satisfactory results have been achieved so far.”

”Especially during the crucial test in 1985, the JLW ballistic missile lost control just after emerging from the water, followed by a violent explosion.”

After hearing these words, the mood of everyone present became heavy.

However, at this moment, Lin Chenran, who had been silent all this time, suddenly spoke up to comfort him: ”Mr. Lu, now is not the time to find out who is responsible. The most urgent task is to solve the problem we are facing as soon as possible.”

As soon as the words fell, everyone nodded in agreement.

Then, they moved quickly and in unison, eager to open the document in their hands - that was the design principle diagram and schematic diagram of the Julang ballistic missile that everyone had been looking forward to for a long time.

In an instant, the originally noisy conference room was as if the mute button was pressed. It was so quiet that the only sound could be heard was the slight rustling sound of papers being turned.

Lin Chenran sat at the conference table, his body leaning forward slightly, his eyes fixed on the drawings spread out in front of him.

His eyes were like two burning flames, hot and sharp, as if they wanted to penetrate those dense lines and complex symbols to see through every crucial detail hidden therein.

At the same time, engineers from the missile department of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal were no less impressive.

They all looked extremely focused, with serious expressions on their faces, without any sign of slacking off.

Everyone focused all their attention on the valuable information in their hands, reading it carefully line by line and word by word, not missing any tiny piece of information that might affect the final result.

Julang ballistic missile length: 10.7 meters

Bullet diameter: 1.34 meters

Launch weight: 14.7 tons

It uses a two-stage solid engine and can carry a nuclear warhead with an explosive power of 1 to 20 million tons of TNT equivalent.

Fifteen minutes later, everyone at the 077 Mechanical Military Factory had a clearer understanding of the JLW ballistic missile.

If the Julang ballistic missile wants to be launched from the water, it needs to solve the huge pressure difference.

The Julang ballistic missile is to be launched from the deep sea, rather than being launched from a nuclear submarine surfacing.

According to the launch of the nuclear submarine at the maximum depth of 300m, the missile has to withstand 30 atmospheres of pressure.

This is why the JL-1985 ballistic missile lost control and exploded the moment it emerged from the water when it was launched in .
