Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 293 Boom 6!!!Chapter 293 Boom 6!!!
Although full of doubts, Lin Chenran followed Mr. Lin without hesitation and got into the spacious car with others.

After the car started slowly, Elder Lin smiled and said, ”Lin, we asked you to come this time because our Air Force has an important task that we want to assign to your 077 Mechanical Military Factory to complete.”

When Lin Chenran, who was originally confused, heard the word ”mission”, his eyes suddenly lit up, and the confusion on his face was instantly replaced by excitement and anticipation.

For a company that mainly manufactures military equipment, missions mean new orders, and orders naturally bring huge profits.

Thinking of this, Lin Chenran’s mouth corners couldn’t help but rise slightly, like a flower blooming in spring, gradually outlining a brilliant smile.

That smile seemed to contain endless joy and expectation, and even the air around it seemed to be infected and brightened.

At this moment, his heart is full of longing for the future.

They wish that the Yan State military could continuously assign a large number of important tasks to their 077 Mechanical Military Factory.

However, a basin of ice-cold water was poured on his burning heart without any warning.

”What?”

Lin Chenran opened his eyes wide, his mouth opened so wide that an egg could almost fit in.

He turned his head in disbelief, his eyes fixed on Mr. Lin standing beside him, and the expression on his face instantly froze into a picture of astonishment.

”Mr. Lin, are you sure?”

Lin Chenran’s voice unconsciously rose an octave, with obvious doubt and confusion in it.

”Let our 077 Mechanical Military Factory upgrade the H-6 bomber?”

This...how is this possible! ”

Lin Chenran stood there in a daze, as if he had been struck by lightning.

He really didn’t expect that the Yan Country Air Force would entrust this difficult and unfamiliar task to their 077 Mechanical Arsenal.

The H-6 bomber is a model with a long history and relatively outdated technology.

Faced with today’s rapidly changing and complex international situation, this old bomber is obviously no longer able to cope with the situation.

Elder Lin’s expression was extremely serious, without any hint of joking.

He nodded solemnly and replied firmly: ”Yes, as the current international situation becomes increasingly tense, various conflicts and disputes continue to emerge.”

”The existing performance of the H-6 bomber can no longer meet our country’s growing strategic needs.”

Now, the Yan Country Air Force has decided to carry out a comprehensive upgrade and transformation on it so that it can better adapt to the current complex and changing war environment.

And provide a strong deterrent to countries with evil intentions.

The H-6 bomber is a medium-sized twin-engine jet strategic bomber that Yan country developed and put into mass production based on the Tu-16 bomber it introduced from Russia in the s.

Back in 1969, the H-6 bomber, carrying countless expectations and missions, officially began its long service career in the Yan Country Air Force.

Time flies, and so far, it has been in service for more than eighteen years!

With the rapid development of the times and the rapid advancement of technology.

The performance of the H-6 bomber is obviously lagging behind that of advanced bombers in other countries in the world and is far behind.

As the Yan Country Air Force said, its outdated performance is indeed unable to meet the current Air Force’s growing and increasingly stringent combat needs.

The prototype of the H-6 bomber, the Tu-16 bomber, was developed between 1950 and 1952, and was put into service in the Soviet Air Force in 1955.

After a quick calculation, I realized that this is an old model with a history of more than 30 years.

It is not easy for such outdated equipment to gain a foothold and play an important role in modern warfare, which is changing rapidly and full of high-tech means.

Faced with this situation, Lin Chenran couldn’t help but wonder: ”Mr. Lin, since the Air Force knows that the performance of the H-6 bomber is backward, why don’t they simply re-plan and design a brand new bomber?” ”Instead, they insist on upgrading and transforming the existing H-6 bomber?”

He poured out all the questions that had been buried in his heart for a long time, hoping to get the answers he wanted from Mr. Lin.

Is it sentiment?

Could it be love?

Definitely not!
Because of poverty!
Not much funds!
Upgrading and renovation can save a lot of R&D funds compared to a new design.

Elder Lin’s explanation instantly left Lin Chenran speechless.

That’s it!

Although military spending has increased significantly this year.

But every penny must be spent wisely.

The Yan State Air Force purchased a batch of helicopters and fighter jets.

Several Y-077 airborne early warning aircraft were purchased from the 10 Mechanical Military Factory.

Today, the Yan State Air Force has very little military funds left, which forces them to adopt a stopgap measure when faced with the issue of developing strategic bombers - ”patching up for another three years.”

The Yan Country Air Force is temporarily unable to purchase new strategic bombers on a large scale.

The only option is to upgrade and modify the H-6 bomber to improve its combat effectiveness.

The Yan Country Air Force assigned this difficult task to the 077 Mechanical Arsenal.

The 077 Mechanical Military Factory can maximize the performance of the H-6 bomber in the most economical and affordable way.

Lin Chenran couldn’t help but smiled bitterly and shook his head: ”Old ginger is still spicy!”

He suddenly felt like he was on a ”pirate ship” that he couldn’t get off easily.

Mr. Lin and the senior leaders of the Yan State Air Force all believed that under the current circumstances, the upgrade and transformation of the H-6 bomber could only be entrusted to the 077 Mechanical Military Factory.

Other manufacturers are unable to do this.

The reason is simple: the Yan Country Air Force does not have extra funds to ”build” for other aircraft manufacturing companies.

Facing Mr. Lin’s expectations and trust, Lin Chenran responded: ”Mr. Lin, please rest assured that our 077 Machinery Military Factory will do its best to upgrade and transform the H-6 bomber this time.”

Lin Chenran had a rough plan in mind.

”No problem. As long as the performance of our H-6 bomber can be greatly improved, our Air Force will be very satisfied.”

Hearing Lin Chenran’s firm promise, Mr. Lin’s face, which was full of traces of time, instantly broke into an incomparably brilliant smile, like a blooming spring flower.

He knew Lin Chenran’s personality and character very well.

Once Lin Chenran says that he will do his best to do something, he will definitely spare no effort and go all out, and will never just do it perfunctorily.

At this time, Lin Chenran’s bright eyes turned slightly, and then he said: ”Mr. Lin, since I have agreed to help our Air Force upgrade the H-6 bomber, then before that, I hope you can agree to a small request of mine.”

When Elder Lin heard this, he was slightly startled at first, and then he responded readily: ”Okay, okay, just go ahead and tell me.”

But his tone changed: ”However, I can’t help with things that are too embarrassing.

Obviously, Mr. Lin wanted to give Lin Chenran a dose of ”vaccination” in advance.
