Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 281 A strategic nuclear submarine with a speed of only 235?Chapter 281 A strategic nuclear submarine with a speed of only 23.5 knots?
”The speed has dropped too much!”

Compared with the speed of the 091 strategic nuclear submarine, it has dropped by several knots.

For a submarine, even a change of just one knot in speed can have a huge impact, let alone such a large drop.

Originally, the speed of the 091 strategic nuclear submarine was significantly lower than that of the strategic nuclear submarines of several other foreign powers.

Now that it is facing such a serious speed drop, its performance disadvantages will undoubtedly be further magnified.

Lin Chenran couldn’t help but shook his head helplessly and sighed inwardly.

Previously, Mr. Huang did not fully realize the series of chain reactions and potential threats brought about by the reduction in speed.

However, after Lin Chenran’s detailed and in-depth analysis and reminders, Mr. Huang finally began to realize the seriousness of the problem.

If this problem cannot be solved in time, it will not only affect the submarine’s combat effectiveness, but may even bring catastrophic consequences to the entire mission at a critical moment.

……

The second-generation strategic nuclear submarine actually uses the same power output system as the 091 strategic nuclear submarine.

They are all equipped with the same domestically produced hydraulic reactor and are all driven by a single shaft and single propeller.

This pressurized water reactor is outdated and obsolete!

Compared with advanced pressurized reactors in other countries, especially similar products in countries like Russia and the United States, there is a huge gap!
It can be said that they are like heaven and earth!

The strategic nuclear submarines of the United States and Russia can easily reach a speed of 30 knots.

However, Yan Country’s 091 strategic nuclear submarine has only 25 knots.

The second-generation strategic nuclear submarine reached 23.5 knots.

Starting to reverse?
Faced with such a difficult situation, Lin Chenran thought for a moment and asked Mr. Huang a key question: ”Mr. Huang, do you think there is a feasible plan to upgrade our existing pressurized reactor?”

”If we can successfully improve its performance, we may be able to resolve the speed problem faced by the second-generation strategic nuclear submarines from the root.”

Lin Chenran spoke slowly in a very calm tone.

Mr. Huang, who was standing aside, had a serious expression on his face at this time, and he just shook his head slightly.

In fact, deep down in his heart, doesn’t Huang also want the power output system of the second-generation strategic nuclear submarine to be effectively upgraded and improved?
However, considering the current military and industrial capabilities of Yan State, this is obviously a difficult goal to achieve.

At this moment, Lin Chenran suddenly smiled and said, ”Mr. Huang, let’s not jump to conclusions so quickly!”

”One person’s plan is short, but many people’s plan is long.”

”I want to learn more about the design principles and related technical structures of the water-pressurized reactor independently developed by our country.”

After saying that, Lin Chenran looked at Mr. Huang expectantly.

After hearing this, Mr. Huang was stunned for a moment, and then he fell into deep thought.

Time passed minute by minute, and after a long while, Mr. Huang finally let out a long sigh.

Then, he raised his head and looked at Lin Chenran, with a hint of admiration in his eyes, and said with emotion: ”After all, you are a courageous and bold boy!”

As soon as he finished speaking, Mr. Huang turned around and walked to the safe again, skillfully entered the password and opened it.

This time, he carefully took out a document from it.

There is an air of mystery surrounding this document.

It is the design schematic of the domestically-developed water-pressurized reactor independently developed by Yan State, which seems to carry the hard work and expectations of countless scientific researchers.

This simple design image is a window into an unknown area, and the information revealed inside is like stars.

Although numerous, they are arranged in an orderly manner, enough for Lin Chenran to have a general understanding of the domestically produced pressurized water reactors.

Lin Chenran took the design schematic of the domestically produced pressurized water reactor from Mr. Huang.

His eyes were instantly attracted, as if they were sucked by a magnet and could no longer be moved away.

After receiving the blueprint, Lin Chenran did not delay at all and immediately started to browse it carefully. His eyes were focused and sharp, not missing any details.

As he read deeper, his originally relaxed brows gradually furrowed, like a volcano about to erupt, suppressing the surging emotions in his heart.

His mood grew heavier, as if a huge rock was pressing on his heart, making it almost impossible for him to breathe.

Lin Chenran couldn’t help but think to himself: ”Too backward!”

Although he had prepared himself mentally before that.

We know that there is a gap between domestically produced pressurized reactors and the international advanced level.

But the facts before him were far beyond his imagination, and this huge sense of gap made him feel helpless.

While Lin Chenran was concentrating on studying the design sketch, Mr. Huang, who was standing beside him, was silently watching every subtle change in his facial expression.

When he saw Lin Chen and the other frowning, Old Huang’s heart suddenly skipped a beat and an ominous premonition came to his mind.

Time passed minute by minute, and finally, Lin Chenran slowly put down the heavy design diagram of the domestically-produced pressurized reactor in his hand.

Seeing this, Mr. Huang couldn’t wait to ask, ”How is it?”

There was a hint of urgency in his voice.

It seemed that he wanted to get a definite answer from Lin Chenran.

Lin Chenran sighed and shook his head: ”Mr. Huang, the design of this domestically produced water-pressurized reactor is too old. After the upgrade, the performance will not be improved qualitatively.”

The main reason is that the design and development of domestic pressurized reactors are too backward.

”This……”

”That……”

When Mr. Huang heard this, his brows furrowed.

”Although the transformation and upgrade of the domestically produced pressurized reactor has not improved much, I have two plans for you to choose from, which can increase the speed of the second-generation strategic nuclear submarine.”

When Mr. Huang heard this, golden light flashed in his eyes.

”Really?”

”real!”

Lin Chenran nodded.

He then outlined his two major plans.

First, solve the problem from the root.

That is to redesign a pressurized water reactor to replace the old pressurized water reactor.

Let it become the power output system of the second-generation strategic nuclear submarine.

It is quite difficult, but Lin Chenran is quite confident.

”Can your 077 Mechanical Military Factory redesign and develop a hydraulic reactor?”

”Or should we jointly develop it?”

Old Huang glanced at Lin Chenran standing beside him. He wanted to get the answer he wanted from the latter.

”Although our 077 Mechanical Arsenal has never designed and developed a hydraulic reactor, we can provide you with the special composite materials you need.”

In terms of special composite materials, the 077 Machinery Arsenal is far ahead, and is even stronger than foreign countries in some aspects.

After hearing this, Mr. Huang smiled.
