Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1045: Worst-Case Scenario

Iskar had finally died. All his familiars disappeared. It wasn’t an easy battle. Flora and Sera needed to help stabilize the battlefield, Nathan had to be assisted by Anubis and Qilin, and he even had to use his trump card, the Soul Contract from elements to become a dummy.

Fenrir and Jinwu could only exchange looks as they couldn’t help Nathan before the latter killed his opponent.

”Well... This is awkward.” Fenrir looked away. After talking big about helping Nathan, they couldn’t do it.

”I agree...” Jinwu did the same thing.

Meanwhile, other familiars looked a bit unsatisfied. After all, only Fenrir and Jinwu managed to take down their opponents within the allocated time.

Still, each of their opponents had been severely injured. Nidhogg would probably be late for one or two minutes, while the others might need five more minutes.

Either way, the situation had been handled by Nathan.

”...” Nathan looked at the corpse on the ground. He shouted, ”Anubis. Take care of the situation, will you? How about his soul?”

”He sacrificed only his life, not his soul. He must believe in reincarnation, so even if he dies, his soul will be there. However, I don’t plan to forgive him.”

”The situation has become confusing, especially regarding the alien. That’s why I will leave the rest to you. I need time to reconsider our plan. As for the interrogation, you can ask whatever you want, but just make sure we know all the suspicions and give me more information about the aliens.”

”Understood.” Anubis turned to Mae. ”Please assist me in the interrogation. Qilin, you will come as well to help me purify these poor souls. If their souls are too far gone, then we have no choice but to let them proceed to the underworld.”

Mae and Qilin agreed with him.

Meanwhile, Nathan turned to Flora and Sera, who rushed to him after the battle was over. The reason he could beat Iskar was definitely the Soul Contract. If they had joined the battle earlier, Iskar could have come for them, and the curse might have hit them. After all, even if he used his contract, he needed the girls to sign it if he wanted to use the contract as a dummy.

On the other hand, Selena seemed to need a bit more time. It looked like Sandra was unleashing everything she had, fully aware that it was all over.

”Who will explain the alien to me?” Nathan asked.

”I will.” Flora raised her hand.

”In that case, Sera, you go to Selena. If she doesn’t need any assistance, then let her be. After all, the information only specifies me, not Selena.”

”This is probably the first time Selena is facing an opponent who has been pushed into a corner. Even a deer would fight back fiercely when it knows it’s going to die either way. It might even kill the predator,” added Flora.

”I know that.” Sera nodded. Although it looked like Selena was winning, especially since the gap between them wasn’t as big as the gap between Nathan and Iskar, Selena couldn’t let her guard down.

In fact, if not for the reinforcement, Nathan couldn’t have ended this fight so quickly.

”So, what happened inside the base? Before you tell me about the alien, I want to know about the situation there.”

”The situation looked normal. We managed to secure our opponents. Unlike the people here, they were not as desperate, so we quickly apprehended them. We left behind some of our familiars before coming to you.

”Of course, because of this situation, we couldn’t afford to keep them alive. So, both of the bodyguards had to be killed, allowing Alavenya and Noelle to focus only on the priority targets.

”Sonia has done a great job. When coming out of the base, we found no one in our path, only dead bodies. She probably hasn’t finished yet, but most should have died.

”Christopher still engaged with his opponent, but it shouldn’t take long before he defeated his opponent. Bella’s familiars were there too.”

Nathan nodded, satisfied. At the very least, most of their plans proceeded according to plan.

”All right. You tell me about the aliens. As much as I want to rush to Evelyn to confirm it, I need to analyze it first. Going to the battle between two world class summoners is nothing but suicide after all.”

”Yeah. So, this is what happened according to Isabella.” Flora recounted all the information she got from Bella’s familiars.

Nathan was dumbfounded, not expecting such a twist. They succeeded, and Evelyn would die. Him changing his fate. Although Bella’s familiar didn’t convey everything about the alien situation, the conclusion was enough for him to be curious about the alien.

In addition, it looked like the alien was going to die today.

”What’s the alien’s strength?” Nathan asked.

”Unknown. It looks like it has been weakened to a certain degree, but from Bella’s perspective, it looks like the alien still has the power of a warrior class alien.”

”Hmm?” Nathan crossed his arms. ”If it’s that high, the alien might even be of an elite class or even higher.”

”Do you mean the unofficial classification? The alpha class?”

”Yes.” Nathan nodded. ”We have to check whether this alien is hiding something or not. If he hides his strength and suddenly releases his true power to kill us, we’ll be in trouble. Even Evelyn won’t be able to defeat him since the alpha class alien is equal to one world class summoner.”

”But if he hides his strength, what’s his purpose? He can simply break free from this place, right? I don’t think Garam Haygaiden can stop this kind of alien.”

”Fair enough. What if it wants to kill me since it has shared its intentions about me?”

”Then, there’s no need to hide it. Joining forces with Garam will be enough.”

Nathan rubbed his chin. ”I guess we can only talk to the alien to figure out the situation. Rather than heading in Evelyn’s direction right away, it’s better to know the situation and see what we can do. Bella’s strength might be required to protect ourselves from Evelyn and Garam.”

”I agree.” Flora nodded. ”In that case, I will tell Sera to bring Selena to the base once they’re done. You should go ahead first.”

Nathan nodded in agreement. But before he could get away, Revon’s voice suddenly echoed from the side.

”Help. Anyone. Please help!”

”!!!” Nathan was bewildered as he turned around. Revon wasn’t the type of person who would run away, but there he was. The enemy was still chasing him, making it look like he was trying to run for his life.

If that were the case, Nathan would be disappointed in Revon. But what was even more shocking was what Revon carried.

He was actually carrying a person. All the wounds on his body came from protecting her from the blades of the enemy.

The person in his arms looked like she could die at any moment. Yes... that person was actually Evelyn.

”Shit... Here we go again.”
