Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1040: Pairing Up

“!!!” Nathan and Iskar noticed the sudden interference. They didn’t expect that these two girls would appear.

Flora shouted, “There’s a situation, Nathan. I deem that a change of plan is required. We need you. I will take responsibility for this change of plan.”

Flora couldn’t really share the information right away to avoid giving that precious information to their enemy.

But saying she would take the responsibility showed the severity of the situation.

Flora might make a mistake, and Nathan would forgive her casually because the mistake she made came from a lot of considerations instead of an impulse. As long as she learned from her mistake, there was no need for him to make it a big deal.

Still, she never really said anything about taking responsibility. That was why the severity of this matter might be much higher than anything they had seen before.

Nathan’s expression turned grim as he shouted, “Help Fenrir and the others. Leave this guy to me.”

Nathan chose to defeat Iskar by himself, not because he didn’t want to fight together with Flora and Sera, but because Fenrir and the others might not hold against their opponent.

Of course, they could probably take down Iskar quickly. Sera and Flora went after Iskar as well, but Anubis had his hands full in stopping the curse. Giving Iskar more targets would just result in Nathan’s defeat.

Hence, Nathan wanted them to take down the other familiars instead. If they could do it fast, Fenrir and the others might be able to help.

Besides, Sera was much more versatile. Even though she was elsewhere, she could still support her from far away.

Flora and Sera were a bit confused, wondering why they shouldn’t go for Iskar. After all, Selena was supposed to fight with them.

But even if Selena came, Nathan might ask the same thing. That was how strong Iskar’s curse was. Even Nathan had to admit he had underestimated the curse a bit.

Nevertheless, Flora and Sera knew Nathan wouldn’t give instructions simply because he wanted to take his prey down by himself. There might be a deeper reason for his decision.

So, Flora and Sera exchanged nods and split up.

Fenrir, who was fighting on the side, just stopped another curse coming from the demon lord with his body. His paw was quite numb from this attack, so Fenrir was searching for another way to defeat the demon lord.

At this moment, he suddenly felt a surge of strength coming from his body. In addition, the pain disappeared, and his body felt a bit warm.

“!!!” Fenrir glanced to the side, finding Sera next to him.

“Duality Reversal. I have turned the curse into a blessing, but this power is a bit too much for me. At most, I can only reduce the curse’s effect. However…” Sera waved her hand, sending forth her own power to Fenrir. “I can boost your strength.”

“Heh. This is enough for me.” Fenrir grinned and leaped toward the demon lord.

“You!” The demon lord looked shocked. If it were only Fenrir, he would have won. But when he unleashed his strength this time, Fenrir actually destroyed it instead of barely stopping it. At this rate, he would be the one to die.

Nidhogg released his breath as it clashed with a gas of blood from the mosquito queen. It looked like they were equal, but the situation would change the moment the purple flame turned black.

“!!!” Both Nidhogg and the mosquito queen couldn’t help but widen their eyes. Once the flame turned black, the ferocity of the flame increased sharply, burning the entire blood mist. Even the mosquito had no choice but to fly away to avoid the residual flame.

“I will be helping you.” Asmodeus hovered next to Nidhogg. “Your summoner has given me his permission.”

“Looks like the situation is going out of control…” Nidhogg nodded. “But do you think you can fight alongside the strongest dragon god?”

“…” Asmodeus smiled, a bit speechless when Nidhogg claimed himself to be that strong. “In that case, I will leisurely support you from the back.”

At the same time, Jinwu soared into the sky as the specter chased after him with a single leap. As he was about to catch up to Jinwu, he suddenly struck forth as his blade hit a spear.

A Valkyrie appeared in front of him. At the same time, this valkyrie was exuding such a bright light.

“I, Brunhild, request to fight alongside the sun crow.”

Jinwu smirked. “Let’s do it, shall we?”

Peng flapped his wings, generating a massive gale that acted as a wall against the poison that the spider had just spat out. It looked like the wind was carrying the poison away, but suddenly, lightning struck the wind, its spark actually dissipating the poison.

“I will help you.” The lightning great spirit nodded politely.

Peng wasn’t someone who talked a lot, and it wasn’t like he could open his mouth to talk or use telepathy on this guy due to the lack of a summoning link. So, he used his actions to prove it.

He shot a torrential gale directly toward the spider, as if telling the lightning great spirit to imbue it with his lightning if he wanted to work together.

Obviously, the lightning spirit came forward.

Flora, on the other hand, came to Mae’s location even though she had the same power as the lightning spirit. There was only one reason. She couldn’t fly like her spirit.

The ancient troll had to jump away as a lightning bolt almost hit him before he could hit his drum.

“Heya, Mae. Need some help?”

Mae smiled gently. “Of course. I won’t turn away any help. Let’s defeat this guy quickly and return to Master, shall we?”

“No objection.” Flora nodded.

However, unlike those five, Orochi was rather different.

When the light great spirit hit the orc shaman, preventing him from using another soul attack, the light spirit said, “I am fast enough to stop his attack. I shall assist you in this fight.”

“You bastard. How dare you ruin this battle?” Orochi just shouted out loud, unleashing his anger. “I don’t need anyone’s help. I will finish this fight alone.”

“…” The light great spirit scratched his cheek, wondering why he was the only one treated like this.
