Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1004: Extracting Information Through Illusion

“…” Rood was completely speechless. Then again, Evelyn wasn’t necessarily in the wrong either.

In the first place, her subduing Lucas alone was enough to show her skill, someone like Rood should be polite to her because it was clear Evelyn was a world class summoner.

However, Evelyn was a part of the Lavender family. Her father was supposed to be a marquis, so in terms of rank, his was higher than her father’s.

The only problem was that the way she reacted was clearly due to the friction between them. In other words, Evelyn might not consider herself as someone from the Liaystian Kingdom.

Besides, Bella was also quite strong. Although he believed he could defeat Bella, he might not escape unscathed either.

These two had grown this strong in just a couple of years. He remembered Evelyn was just a grandmaster the year she was supposed to graduate.

With this kind of talent, it wouldn’t be weird for Evelyn to be really standing toe-to-toe with Elysion Aquamoon, who became the strongest summoner at the age of 37.

Evelyn harrumphed and chose to ignore him. She turned to Nathan and asked, “How is it?”

“It’s possible. You injured him a bit too much, though…” Mae clapped her hands.

“It can’t be helped. I have to unleash my full power for a moment to take him down. It’s unlike the time I fought you.” Evelyn shook her head. “How long do you need?”

“I can do it now. I need some help.” Mae turned her head to Bella, specifically to Bella’s familiar she left with them. After all, Bella and Selena focused on taking down the other two people. Mae asked, “Can you put him in a state of half-awake? I will take care of the rest.”

“Yes.” Bella’s spirit closed its eyes for a second before opening them again, emitting a glowing purple light. This purple light wrapped as Lucas half-opened his eyes.

Evelyn and Rood squinted their eyes, guarding the process in case Lucas was actually waking up for real.

“All right, Master. I will begin.” Mae released her own ena and formed a magic circle on the ground. She closed her eyes and concentrated on guiding her ena into his brain before opening her eyes with her pupils gone, leaving only the white sclera behind.

Then Mae expanded her tails and isolated Nathan and Lucas inside, creating a dome that blocked all vision. She even applied another layer of illusion so that no one could probe them inside.

“What are you doing?” Rood didn’t know what was going on, while Evelyn remained calm, knowing Nathan was using his innate ability.

It only took him thirty seconds this time before Mae released her tails, showing no change in Lucas’ body.

“Huh?” Rood was confused.

Nathan took a deep breath before asking, “Can I?”

Evelyn nodded without hesitation. “Do it.”

“Anubis!” Nathan called Anubis out loud because they were about to begin the process.

Once Anubis returned to his side, Nathan waved his hand as though he were swinging a blade, killing Lucas.

“What?! You… You…” Rood gritted his teeth. He was furious. Lucas would have been better off being taken as a prisoner. Besides, this was their investigation. If they had wanted to cooperate, it would have been fine. However, killing Lucas would also mean losing information.

This was unacceptable. They simply had gone too far.

When Rood was about to unleash all that anger, Anubis activated his domain, inviting all four of them into the golden courtroom.

“!!!” Rood’s body shook. “This is… domain!”

“I invited you as well to act as a witness. Be silent as we will proceed to the trials,” warned Anubis coldly.

Rood was shocked because Anubis wasn’t like the jackal from earlier. His head might look like it, but the rest of his appearance was definitely not.

Nathan said, “The dead can’t lie.”

“The dead?” Rood shifted his gaze to the podium where the person would be judged. It was there he saw a translucent blue soul with the same appearance as Lucas.

Mae added, “Master. I have complete control over his consciousness now. You can ask him anything. I will extract everything from inside his mind.”

“Is that so?” Nathan thought about making a show to Rood first so that he didn’t act up again since it had gotten rather annoying. “In that case, first extract the faces of all Hands as well as the leader.”

“Understood.” Mae acknowledged the order.

Inside the illusion, Lucas was with an elderly man. He was acting like himself, but also not at the same time. If the elderly man asked something, he would answer without hiding anything.

If Charlotte were here, she would have done the same thing. After all, messing with one’s judgment was the basis of the illusion path. Unfortunately, Bella’s illusion hadn’t reached this stage yet. That was why they needed him to interrogate these people.

Besides, with the Soul Contract, he couldn’t lie. Anubis’ scale would also confirm whether he was innocent or not.

With the combination of their abilities, they had formed a perfect interrogation team.

The elderly man asked, “What do you think about your comrades? What Do you think about them?”

“My comrades, huh?” Lucas closed his eyes in that illusion, recalling the people who worked with him.

It only took a few seconds before images began to appear. One face after another was projected by Mae’s illusion.

Obviously, two faces were exactly Karen’s and Baral’s, the two people who were helping him. As they originally expected, these two were also one of the Hands.

“This is…” Rood widened his eyes. As the vice commander of the Summoner Division, he had seen all types of interrogation, from torture to peaceful questioning, but this was the first time he saw people extracting information in this way.

In addition, he recognized several faces. “This is Wood Eye? And this face… Isn’t she Madam Len?

“No wait. This face… He’s Garam Haygaiden!” Rood gasped. In just a moment, they were able to find out the faces of the people who were responsible for this incident.

This kind of interrogation gave him chills down his spine. After all, he had seen a lot of people committing suicide to hide their secrets. But by extracting the information from their souls, not a single person could escape.

‘Terrifying… This is absolutely terrifying.’
