Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 750: Sullivanʼs Return

The bell once again rang. However, instead of an attack, the people cheered because the Sword Saint had finally returned.

It looked like they had fought against a lot of aliens on the way. From a single glance, they realized that at least a few hundred of them had passed away. In addition, a lot of people were injured.

”Sir…” Layfon gave him a salute. Other soldiers paid their respects to those who ventured deep into the alien territory.

”Layfon.” Sullivan looked at him before nodding his head. ”I will tell you about what happened later. For now, treat them first. The situation is actually much worse than I originally thought.”

”Yes, sir.” Layfon hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should mention Nathan.

To their surprise, Nathanʼs voice suddenly echoed from behind. ”Should I heal them, Duke Sullivan?”

”…” Duke Sullivan was confused for a moment, but once he saw Nathan, his eyes lit up. He remembered Anubisʼ healing ability, so if Anubis was the one doing it, he could feel assured.

At the same time, he was aware of the reason Nathan came here, especially with Selena.

He ultimately nodded his head. ”Alright. Please heal my people. Theyʼve worked hard. You two should follow me after this.”

Nathan nodded. ”Anubis. Take care of them for me.”

”Sylvia. Take care of them.” Layfon sent Sylvia to handle their confusion. Besides, other soldiers would also be helping Anubis, so it shouldnʼt take too long.

With Anubis leading them, the four of them could finally go back.

”Ha…” Sullivan let out a long sigh while leaning his back on the chair. ”Iʼm tired.”

”Thank you for your hard work, sir.” Layfon smiled. ”I will ask someone to get you a drink.”

”No. Thereʼs no need for now.” Sullivan shook his head before his face turned grim.

Even Layfon knew something big was going on.

”First of all, Iʼm sorry. We tried to fight them, but I underestimated their strength. A lot of them must have attacked this fort.”

”Now that I think about it, there was indeed a huge number of aliens three days ago.” Layfon nodded. ”Itʼs not like you to underestimate them, sir.”

”Well, I suppose I should say I donʼt expect them…” Sullivan clenched his fists. ”I donʼt expect them to have an elite class alien.”

”!!!” Layfon stood up. Even Nathan and Selena exchanged looks, knowing the significance of an elite class alien.

”Elite class alien? How can this be…” Layfon gasped.

”I managed to injure it severely, but it managed to escape.” Sullivan clicked his tongue.

ʼElite class alien, huh? According to the new summoning ranking, the new summoners are equal to proto-class aliens, and elite summoners are equal to juvenile class aliens.

ʼOn the other hand, master and grandmaster summoners are equal to mature and warrior class aliens respectively.

ʼIn other words, arcane level summoners like Layfon and my teacher are equal to an elite class alien, while a world class summoner like Sir Sullivan should be the same as an alpha class alien.

ʼStill, the stronger the alien, the more cunning and even more powerful they are. And they have a lot of aliens under their command. Even if Sir Sullivan is able to cut down the minions, he still has to conserve a certain amount of his stamina to fight the elite class alien.

ʼI see. The deciding factor is the lower-level aliens. To protect the soldiers, Sir Sullivan canʼt really crush them thoroughly.ʼ

Nathan crossed his arms, understanding the situation.

”If an elite class alien appeared… doesnʼt this mean…” Layfonʼs face turned pale.

”Yes. We have to be careful. Thereʼs a chance itʼs not a single elite class alien. We have to report this matter right away,” Sullivan agreed.

Layfon nodded. ”Understood. I will take care of it.”

Once Layfon left, the atmosphere inside the room turned heavy. All of them knew that this matter was more important than an elite class alien.

After all, the talk might result in the death of Nathan, the unique summoner.

Sullivan looked at Nathan and Selena with a solemn face. ”I guess youʼre coming for that.”

”Yes. Weʼd like to know Count Ashtonʼs location. You should know about it. And weʼve fulfilled the requirement you set back there. Instead of just one, our group can kill multiple of them.” Nathan nodded, confirming their intention.

Sullivan squinted his eyes. ”Do you think I can let you just go? The world has changed. Even if Iʼm a man of integrity, the expedition itself has become far more dangerous.”

”We are aware of that. We come here to listen to your new requirements.” Nathan nodded.

”Suppose I say you have to take down an elite class alien…”

As soon as he heard it, Nathanʼs expression darkened. His eyes were already devoid of any warmth. ”Try it. See if youʼre going to regret it or not.”

Nathan knew Sullivan was worried about them. At the same time, Sullivan was supposed to be a man of integrity.

If he was going to increase the difficulty absurdly, even Nathan wouldnʼt back down.

Sullivan knew what Nathan was capable of. If he really did it, Nathan had a lot of ways to make him regret it. Even if Nathan was weaker than him, it didnʼt mean Nathan didnʼt possess the ability to kill him.

If Sullivan truly messed with them, Nathan was ready to face him as an enemy.

Sullivan experienced the same expression Nathan showed to Evelyn when she asked what he would do if the Sleeping Garden were his enemy.

The darkness buried deep inside Nathanʼs heart. He rarely showed it because they were covered with his playful behavior. But if he had to, Sullivan would definitely see hell.

Selena didnʼt know what to say. This was the first time she saw such an expression from Nathan. At the same time, Nathan showed this side because of her. Whatever he was planning to do, she was going to support him.

Sullivan closed his eyes for a moment. ”I will give you a mission.”
