Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 701: Different Approach

Fenrir, on the other hand, ended up becoming the last of them to defeat his opponent. Of course, Anubis wasnʼt calculated, considering he took his time to fight the opponent because he had to focus on supporting Nathan.

At the same time, the blue troll was considered to be the strongest out of all the familiars that Alan had. It wasnʼt weird for Fenrir to take the longest to defeat his opponent.

The problem was that after he was done, the moment he turned his head around, he noticed one particular thing.

ʼHmm? The bird and the lizard have gone there. Although itʼs a bit too far for my hearing to be accurate, they should be winning, right? At least those two will go on a rampage, and itʼs not like there is another summoner among them.

ʼIn that case, I can leave that area to those two. I should do something else…ʼ Fenrirʼs eyes shifted to Flora. That was right, Flora.

Even though Nathan manipulated the battlefield most of the time, each divine beast was more than capable of thinking of a plan of their own.

Each of them knew that there would be a time when Nathan was too occupied to lead them. During that time, they should think about what to do by themselves.

And that was what Fenrir did.

In the end, the battle between Nathan and Alan was equal… No, it was still favoring Nathanʼs side, considering Nathan had divine beasts.

There was a reason they could reach the pinnacle. Their mastery over their abilities was top-notch, much higher than the familiars of the same rank, unless they also sealed their abilities.

This mastery and utilization were something that Nathan and Flora didnʼt have. But all Nathanʼs familiars had it, while Floraʼs elemental spirits didnʼt have that kind of prowess.

As a result, it wouldnʼt be weird for Flora to have a hard time, especially against their boss, who turned out to be more powerful than Alan.

Yet, despite all that, Floraʼs strength was still above Nathanʼs.

Thanks to that ability, she was able to stand between Leon and Nathan, preventing Leon from hitting Nathan the whole time, even if it meant exposing her back to Alan.

She compensated for the gap between their strengths with Anubisʼ healing ability.

If one took a closer look at her clothes, they had been dyed red. The wounds might have closed, but everyone could see how severe her injuries were.

”Ha… Ha…” Floraʼs breathing was rough as she was gradually losing ground. She had done everything she could to stop Leon, but she might not be able to last much longer.

On the other hand, Leon had suffered some injuries, but he showed no sign of exhaustion.

Leon knew he should defeat Flora first, before helping Alan. Even if Alan was going to get angry at stealing his prey, he could definitely stop him.

And the situation had gone from bad to worse after seeing Alanʼs familiars going down one by one.

Nathanʼs familiars must have been in a dilemma, wondering if they should help Flora or the soldiers. Ultimately, they chose the soldiers.

That was why Leon had to take this opportunity to defeat Flora before taking down Nathan before his familiars wiped out his people.

He swung his giant sword at Flora, releasing a massive gale that disrupted the flow of ena.

”Tsk.” Electricity sparked around her hands, but they were so weak that they were extinguished a couple of times from that wind alone.

If Alanʼs specialty was his ʼForm,ʼ Leonʼs power could be described as dispersion. He had a special wing coming from a high-ranking harpy that allowed him to create a wind with a certain flow. This flow disrupted the movement of ena, which was the reason he was able to pull Nathanʼs bullets in with his tornado in the first attack.

Flora, on the other hand, was similar to a magician. Leon was probably one of the worst match-ups for Flora.

Even then, she managed to injure Leon to a certain degree. And that was because of the new power sheʼd gotten.

Leon slammed Flora with his blade from above, forcing the latter to jump away. He didnʼt care about Flora running away since he could simply turn to the side, attacking her familiar next.

As if knowing what he planned to do, Flora snapped her fingers. A magic circle appeared beneath Leonʼs feet, electrocuting Leon.

”…” Leon gritted his teeth, enduring the numbness. However, the electricity didnʼt harm his body. After all, he had coated his body with a thin layer of the same wind that disrupted ena. As a result, the electricity remained on the surface, only giving him a bit of numbness to his body with a sting or two.

Without any damage to his body, he simply gritted his teeth and swung his giant sword toward the plant spirit next to him.

Flora had no choice but to close the distance once again, preventing him from attacking her spirit.

Leon grinned, knowing she would stop him. She simply had no other choice. He hurriedly struck her as Flora released another discharge of her lightning to counter his swing.

”Kh.” Flora gritted her teeth as the blade managed to overpower her lightning once again.

She had to change her trajectory at the last moment and avoided the blade, albeit she got grazed on the left side. Anubis healed her, but the pain was still registered in her mind.

”…” Flora wondered what she had to do to counter Leonʼs ability. Leon, on the other hand, didnʼt care who he attacked.

Since Flora had become the closest one to him, he didnʼt hesitate to swing his blade one more time at her.

Flora wanted to use the electricity to slow it down before she dodged the attack and somehow landed another discharge on his body, this time with a direct hit.

However, as she extended her hand, a giant shadow suddenly appeared in front of her eyes, its paw slapping the giant sword to the ground.

”!!!” Flora widened her eyes in shock.

”You…” Leon glared at the shadow.

”Fenrir!” Floraʼs expression lit up, knowing her chance had finally arrived.

”My power seems to be more useful against him. I will be your vanguard. Do whatever you want with that information, little girl.” Fenrir harrumphed.
