Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 709: Flora x Nathan

The children were already sleeping. They were too tired after moving around this whole time while facing danger.

Some were sleeping on the bed while some either fell asleep on the floor or had weird positions.

”My lord.” Iris suddenly approached Nathan and Flora, who were checking on the kids.

”Ah, Iris. Weʼre just checking on them. Everyone has worked hard.” Flora waved her hand.

”Yes, thank you. They could finally eat until they are full today after so many years…” Iris nodded. ”Itʼs thanks to you.”

Flora smirked. ”Well, you can actually get some pocket money yourself, you know?”

Iris raised her eyebrows. Flora must be mentioning the time they gathered everything valuable in the Crimson Skeletonʼs base.

With that kind of money, people would be tempted, let alone children.

In fact, that was what happened previously, except for the fact Iris had convinced them.

Iris shook her head and said, ”Your servant doesnʼt dare take what belongs to you. Those riches canʼt be gathered without both of you taking them down.

”Rather than stealing, I personally want an honest life. If I can become big, it will be good, but if I canʼt, I donʼt really mind as long as we have the opportunity.” Iris clenched her fists. ”I donʼt know if Iʼm talented or not as a summoner, but thank you for giving us a chance.”

Flora waved her hand. ”Once you reach our city, weʼll provide you with food and shelter. However, because our city has just been built, Iʼm expecting you to help as well.

”With this, the children should be able to integrate themselves with the city and stop living the way they do in this city.”

”Thatʼs what I wish as well. Nobody wants to become a thief.” Iris sighed.

Flora smiled. ”In that case, you should get some rest. After all, youʼre going to be busy tomorrow as well.”

Iris smiled wryly. ”I want to, but my body refuses to sleep. It just feels… so surreal. I thought I would forever be stuck here without having any opportunity to change my fate. In the end, my future would probably be as a prostitute or thief.”

”But this doesnʼt mean weʼll support you if you want to get your revenge, you know?” Flora crossed her arms.

Iris shook her head. ”I donʼt have any intention of getting my revenge. With the worldʼs situation, I can only let it go. Besides, isnʼt living well the best revenge?”

”Thatʼs good. Well, you will probably have to focus on your studies after this, especially if you want to become a summoner. Weʼll prepare you to become a summoner and send you to the Frexia Academy once you come of age.”

”Frexia Academy? The number one academy in the world?”

”Yes. Well, you might not know it, but his master is the academyʼs vice principal. And his girlfriendʼs teacher is the principal himself. Meanwhile, Iʼm the student council president.”

”Nepotism?” Iris smiled wryly.

”What are you talking about? Weʼre just giving you the best education before the academy.” Flora rolled her eyes. ”Anyway, get some sleep.”

”I understand.” Iris nodded. ”In that case, please have a good night, my lord, mistress.”

”Hehehe. This kid, I like her.” Flora grinned.

Before Iris returned to her room, Nathan finally opened his mouth. ”Not planning revenge doesnʼt mean having no ambition. If you desire to become strong, seek that opportunity and ride the wave.

”The only thing constant in this world is change. Hence, even if you know something, never become too fixated on it. A lot of things in this world have changed in the last couple of months.

”If you ever waver, donʼt forget this. Instead of using your mind to calculate the pros and cons of a certain outcome, you should just choose the option that your heart tells you to take and use your wisdom to deal with the aftermath.”

Iris looked shocked at first. It was quite profound for her, but the way Nathan brought it was simple enough for her to ponder about it.

He wanted her to ask herself if she accepted Nathanʼs offer because she weighed the benefits or she wanted the children to live to the fullest.

However, the decision had been made. She could be more careful in the future, but what she had to do now was to use that wisdom of hers to take care of the future problem because of this decision.

She lowered her head. ”Thank you, my lord.”

Nathan nodded and didnʼt continue.

Once Iris closed the door, Flora smirked at him, ”Heh? Follow your heart, huh? I wonder for whom that advice is…”

Nathan smiled wryly. ”I donʼt think I have to answer that question. You already know the answer.”

Floraʼs expression brightened.

”Do you really mean it?”

Nathan suddenly lifted her up, which startled her.

”W-Whoa? What are you doing?”

Nathan just walked silently until they entered their room before he said, ”I know I might have missed the chance to create that atmosphere, but there is one thing Iʼd like to say.

”I donʼt really like getting entangled in politics for a few reasons. However, if Iʼm going to start something, Iʼd like to see it through to the very end.

”For you to abandon everything just for me, Iʼm truly blessed in life. I just hope that youʼre able to get along with the others and vice versa.”

Nathan paused for a moment before saying in a deep tone. ”In exchange, I will make sure you are happy and live a fulfilled life. I will do my best to be fair and create a future where all of us can smile at the very end.

”Thatʼs why… my princess… No, Flora. Please give me the opportunity to mess with your life and show you the beauty of a common yet fulfilled life.” Nathan looked Flora in the eye, showing that he meant every word he said.

It was a commitment for her, especially since she chose to abandon her royalty status in exchange for this life. Though she had already made that decision long ago.

”In that case, please show it to me now.” Flora wrapped her arms around his neck while smiling brightly before planting a kiss on his lips.
