Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 700: Reinforcements

”Sir. There are simply too many of them. Weʼre able to see them all, but weʼre having trouble with their number.”

The soldier reported.

”…” The captain of the soldiers couldnʼt help but furrow his eyebrows. He had summoned his familiars and let them take care of as many people as possible, but his familiars specialized in fighting one strong opponent.

If he looked to the left, he would see at least three blocks hadnʼt been covered by him. The soldiers were busy taking care of everything. On the right, his familiar managed to gain the upper hand, but at this rate, they would be overwhelmed by the sheer number.

They would still be victorious, but if they ended up with so many deaths, he wondered if that could be considered a win.

”This canʼt go on.” The captain muttered, looking at several men that were hiding from the area.

When the enemies came, a lot of traps were triggered, killing a lot of thugs. However, there were still four hundred left.

The moment they scattered around and hid, the harder it was to eliminate them. If he sent his soldiers, they might fall victim to an ambush.

If he didnʼt chase them, they might be harassed again and again, which would result in one death after another.

Even though he could handle most of it, he still lacked the number to root them out.

And it seemed his prayer was answered almost right away.

He suddenly noticed an incoming presence coming from the sky. When he lifted up his head, he saw a black dragon approaching the area.

He perched on top of a building while saying, ”Iʼm going to kill them, even if it means destroying the entire building along with them.

”The destruction has been explained to the mayor, so I wonʼt ask for your permission. Still, I will ask you, where do you want me to go on a rampage? It does look like youʼre struggling here.”

The commander felt the dragon was a bit too arrogant. Then again, Nidhogg was a dragon and a divine beast while he was a mortal, so Nidhogg couldnʼt help but talk in that tone since he was accustomed to it.

The commander gritted his teeth before pointing to the left side. ”Go that way. There are three blocks that I canʼt cover. Help the soldiers over there, but donʼt kill the soldiers.”

”I donʼt kill allies. I only kill my enemies.” Nidhogg harrumphed. ”I will take care of them. Either that wolf or bird is going to come here soon, so weʼll clean them up starting from now.”

The commander nodded his head.

”Then…” Nidhogg immediately took off to his destination. The moment he perched on top of the block he was assigned to, he released his breath, cleaning up the people on the street. His instinct was telling him that there were some ants within the buildings.

Unfortunately for these thugs, they were dealing with the senses of a divine beast.

It didnʼt take long for Nidhogg to find them and target all those buildings.

…

The second person to come to their aid was, surprisingly, not Fenrir, who had gained the upper hand after using his new technique. It was Jinwu.

The demon had a lot of scorched marks on his body. In fact, his skinʼs temperature was so high that some parts actually released some smoke.

The demon gritted his teeth. The heat was completely unbearable, especially since the sun was concentrating on him.

If one took another look at the entire sun, they would notice there was a visible glowing light that shone on one particular spot on the ground. And it kept moving, following the demonʼs movement. It was as if this was a stage light hanging on the ceiling, whose purpose was to illuminate the focus of the stage.

Unlike that light, this one carried the scorching heat of the sun.

The water or the sweat on his skin had dried up, and some parts started burning. If not for his ena, he wouldnʼt be able to withstand this powerful ray.

Although the demon recognized he had more ena compared to Jinwuʼs, he couldnʼt really do anything. After all, this light also burned his ena, not completely, but the majority of his ena had been burned away, resulting in him using a weaker attack and growing weaker every second.

Jinwu only received two things from having 50,000 ena. The first one was a feather attack that carried concentrated sunlight that could explode and release a powerful blast of heat, while the second one was one of the special abilities of his domain.

Right now, he took advantage of the scorching heat from the sun when it was right above oneʼs head. And he concentrated that light on one spot as though there was a magnifying glass on top of the target.

And it seemed the end of the battle was near.

Jinwu was stepping up his game by changing the time to the dry evening.

”Time Change. Reaper of the Dusk.”

”!!!” The demon widened his eyes in shock. The heat was much different this time. Before, the heat struck his skin, which was bearable to a certain extent.

However, the moment the time changed, the heat felt like it was boiling him from the inside.

”You bastard.” The demon waved his hand, cleaving Jinwu.

Unfortunately, Jinwu didnʼt plan to face him head-on. He only came closer the moment the demon wanted to switch targets.

After all, Jinwu took Nathanʼs order more seriously. Since they had other jobs after killing their respective opponents, Jinwu had been conserving his stamina instead of confronting the demon directly.

In addition, his domain was much more troublesome than Anubisʼ domain in a battle, on top of the domineering power of a domain.

In the end, the demon couldnʼt figure Jinwu out.

The demon gritted his teeth. He was feeling sluggish, as though the water inside his body was gradually evaporating.

The moment Jinwu saw the chance, he surrounded the demon with the feathers before releasing a sun ray from his mouth to reduce the demon into ashes.
