Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 89 This kid is amazing!”What kind of weapon do you think we just tested? Could it be a Nuke?”

”No, that’s not right. In my younger days, I was fortunate enough to see a Nuke, and the power wasn’t nearly this great!”

”Besides, we’ve already tested Nukes before; there shouldn’t be any need to test one again now!”

”Then what could it be?”

The soldiers responsible for the measurements were extremely curious, with many speculations in their minds.

Meanwhile, at Base 1, the group of high-ranking officials was also completely bewildered.

Commander Liu Chengzhi, who had previously guessed the explosion radius would only be a few dozen square kilometers, was likely the most shocked at this moment!

His guess was worlds apart from the reality!

This was also completely beyond his expectations.

He looked at Su Chen, who was collecting data, and asked in a daze:

”You brat, isn’t the power of this Electromagnetic Naval Gun... a bit too much!”

”I would have believed you if you said we just tested a hydrogen bomb!”

Only an Electromagnetic Naval Gun could manage to fire a Nuke from its muzzle!

Su Chen grinned, also somewhat shocked:

”Isn’t it a good thing that the power is high?”

Commander-in-Chief Zhou Jingting smiled bitterly: ”It’s definitely a good thing!”

”It’s just that while it’s good for us, I suspect it won’t be good for the surrounding countries!”

”The blast radius is too large; the surrounding countries will definitely be affected. How are we supposed to explain this to them now?”

Su Chen continued to grin: ”What’s hard about that!”

”If they ask, just tell them it was a meteorite impact!”

A meteorite impact?

What kind of absurd excuse is that!

Su Chen’s words left them all speechless!

The excuse was too explosive; surely no one would believe it!

However, they soon recalled the scene they had seen on the screen earlier!

When the shell was tearing through the sky toward its target before impact, at first glance, it didn’t seem any different from a meteorite impact!

Besides, the shell was so high up and the distance was so great, who could tell if it was a shell or a meteorite!

Thinking about it this way, the excuse actually seemed somewhat reasonable!

The high-ranking officials looked at each other and realized everyone was thinking the same thing!

So Commander-in-Chief Zhou Jingting spoke up: ”How about we just explain it that way!”

”Believe it or not! If they don’t believe it, let’s have a fight!”

”Or we can let them experience what a meteorite impact is like; I bet they’ll believe it then!”

The other high-ranking officials nodded in succession!

”I think that works!”

”Although this excuse is far-fetched, it does have some rationality to it!”

”Then let’s announce to the outside world that it was a meteorite impact. Oh, and we also need to cordon off that area, otherwise, there will definitely be many meteorite enthusiasts going there to look for meteorites! If they don’t find any meteorites but see shrapnel everywhere, won’t the secret be out?” Commander Liu Chengzhi also added.

Su Chen looked at the big shots who had just thought his excuse was far-fetched but had now immediately changed their tune, and suddenly found it quite funny!

At this moment, Commander Liu Chengzhi looked at the Electromagnetic Naval Gun not far away and said excitedly:

”The destructive power generated by the explosion of this super-large caliber Electromagnetic Naval Gun is absolutely no less than a Nuke, and the key point is that it doesn’t belong to the category of Nuclear Weapons!”

”Which means, it is not restricted by the Nuclear Weapons treaty at all and can be used normally!”

As soon as these words were spoken, the others suddenly realized, and General Zhao Yong was the most excited; he suddenly slapped his thigh:

”That’s right!”

”This thing isn’t a Nuclear Weapon!”

”We can use it however we want in the future; it can completely become our strategic weapon for deterring overseas threats!”

”And isn’t this an Electromagnetic ’Naval’ Gun? It’s meant to be used on our warships!”

This made the generals from the Army side extremely envious!

The Air Force now has Mechas, two of them, and each one is more impressive than the last!

Now the Navy has one too, with power comparable to a Nuclear Weapon, and it’s not even restricted by the Nuclear Weapons treaty!

Now only their Army is left staring blankly with nothing!

Damn it, our Army won’t be disbanded in the future, right... a certain Army general thought!

However, after the excitement, General Zhao Yong seemed to think of a critical issue.

He suddenly became nervous, looked at the Electromagnetic Naval Gun that resembled a giant tower, and asked Su Chen:

”Comrade Su Chen, this Electromagnetic Naval Gun is so big! The power consumption must be quite high, right!”

Everyone looked at Su Chen, and Su Chen replied calmly: ”It is indeed quite high!”

”It requires a full 100,000 megawatts or so!”

”100,000 megawatts?”

As soon as these words were spoken, except for those who had no concept of this data, the others were so shocked that their jaws nearly dropped!

Seeing Commander-in-Chief Zhou Jingting’s strong reaction, Commander Liu Chengzhi, who didn’t understand this aspect, immediately asked:

”Boss Zhou, tell us, what is the concept of 100,000 megawatts? Is that a lot?”

Commander-in-Chief Zhou Jingting sighed softly: ”It’s not just a lot, it’s an enormous amount!”

”You all should know about our Sanmenxia Hydropower Station!”

”This is an important large-scale hydropower station in our country, capable of producing a terrifying amount of electrical energy annually for our use!”

”But even for it, the installed capacity is only 22.5 megawatts!”

”100,000 megawatts is equivalent to more than four thousand times that!”

”Operating at 100,000 megawatts for one hour requires 100 million kilowatt-hours of electricity!”

”It would require the Sanmenxia Hydropower Station to continuously produce electricity for nearly a month!”

Now everyone finally understood its terrifying nature!

Looking at it this way, although the Electromagnetic Naval Gun is powerful, it is a total energy-devouring monster!

Operating for one hour requires nearly a month of production from the Sanmenxia Hydropower Station to supply it!

At this time, someone asked General Zhao Yong: ”What is the power of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier reactor again?”

General Zhao Yong said with a grave expression: ”Around 100 megawatts!”

One is 100,000 megawatts...

One is 100 megawatts...

”Then our warships have no way to use this Electromagnetic Naval Gun at all!”

”Not to mention we don’t even have nuclear-powered aircraft carriers yet, even if we did, the energy provided wouldn’t be enough for this energy-devouring monster to use!” someone said.

General Zhao Yong sighed helplessly.

He was indeed extremely disappointed!

He was as miserable now as he had been excited just a moment ago!

Seeing that General Zhao Yong was so old yet still so concerned about the great cause of the Navy, Commander Liu Chengzhi couldn’t help but speak up to comfort him:

”It’s alright, General Zhao Yong!”

”Even if the naval gun can’t be mounted on ships, we still have the First-generation Mecha!”

”The First-generation Mecha can completely replace carrier-based aircraft and become a powerful asset for the Navy!”

”Besides, when Su Chen designed the First-generation Mecha, he was thinking of your Navy too!”

General Zhao Yong nodded, feeling much better!

Although they couldn’t use the Electromagnetic Naval Gun, the First-generation Mecha was indeed quite good!

But at this moment!

He seemed to have just realized something, then looked sharply at Su Chen and asked in disbelief:

”Little Liu, what did you just say?”

”The First-generation Mecha was also created by Comrade Su Chen?”

Commander Liu Chengzhi was stunned for a moment: ”You didn’t know about such major news?”

General Zhao Yong: ”No one told me!”

He turned his head to look at Su Chen, his eyes flickering with an expression of disbelief:

”Good heavens!”

”The First-generation Mecha, the Space Mecha, and now this incredible Electromagnetic Naval Gun...”

”They were all created by Comrade Su Chen alone!”

”This kid Su Chen is just too amazing!”
