Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 78 A Letter from the Boss: The Concept of Controlled Nuclear Fusion!Commander Liu Chengzhi proposed raising Su Chen’s military rank even higher!

This proposal made everyone freeze in surprise.

Commander-in-Chief Zhou Jingting was the first to speak: ”I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that!”

”Given Su Chen’s achievements, raising his rank by one level is absolutely fine!”

”However, if that really happens, this kid will become the youngest Major General since the founding of the nation!”

”He’ll even be on equal footing with you, Commander Liu Chengzhi!”

Commander Liu Chengzhi smiled calmly: ”What’s wrong with being on equal footing? Compared to him, I feel like my rank of Major General is quite inflated!”

The group burst into laughter.

But laughter aside, they didn’t really think Commander Liu Chengzhi’s rank was inflated at all!

This Major General had established illustrious military exploits on the battlefield, earned several First-Class Merit awards, brushed shoulders with death multiple times, and completed numerous almost impossible missions!

In his former unit, he held the title of ’King of Soldiers’ and was a genuine person who rose step-by-step from a private to a Major General of the Empire!

He looked at the other important figures, wanting to hear their opinions.

After all, conferring the rank of Major General upon Su Chen was no small matter!

It had to be handled with caution!

Just like when they first conferred the rank of Senior Colonel upon Su Chen, they had also considered it carefully!

However, to Commander Liu Chengzhi’s surprise, this time, almost none of these important figures raised any objections!

They all knew the power of the Space Mecha; without even being equipped with a weapons system, it had wiped out an entire fighter jet formation of the Eagle Nation!

Its combat effectiveness was evident.

Furthermore, wiping out the enemy’s fighter jet formation was also an achievement worthy of reward!

Therefore, considering all of this!

Su Chen was well-deserving and could be ranked as a Major General!

Without any suspense, the application for Su Chen’s promotion to Major General was passed easily!

Just as they were preparing to adjourn the meeting, a bigwig from the scientific research field suddenly found Commander Liu Chengzhi.

The two of them conversed for a full hour.

”Rest assured, I will pass this on to Su Chen!”

After receiving Commander Liu Chengzhi’s promise, this important figure left.

The next morning!

Commander Liu Chengzhi personally came to the Laboratory and found Su Chen.

At this time, Su Chen was conducting research, and he was somewhat puzzled by Commander Liu Chengzhi’s sudden visit.

”Chief, why are you here?”

Commander Liu Chengzhi smiled calmly: ”Of course, I have something to tell you!”

”Oh, right!”

”From now on, don’t call me Chief anymore!”

Both Su Chen and Zhao Dairou were stunned.

Only then did Commander Liu Chengzhi take out a conferment document with Su Chen’s name on it!

The two of them looked closely!

The words ”Major General” were exceptionally striking, like a mountain of gold exposed to the sunlight!

The most shocked was Zhao Dairou; she looked at the conferment document, then looked at Su Chen, her small mouth rounded in surprise!

She asked in disbelief: ”Chief, has Su Chen... been promoted to Major General?”

Even though it was written very clearly on the document, she still couldn’t quite believe it. Looking across the whole country, Su Chen was definitely the first Major General in his early twenties!

To become a general of the Dragon Kingdom at such a young age was just too shocking!

Commander Liu Chengzhi nodded: ”That’s right, Su Chen is now a Major General!”

”In a while, we will hold a conferment ceremony for him!”

Hearing Commander Liu Chengzhi’s affirmative answer, Zhao Dairou had no choice but to believe it now!

She turned her head to look at Su Chen and found that Su Chen’s expression was exceptionally calm!

This made her even more confused!

This was the rank of Major General!

You are way too calm!

And it wasn’t just as simple as a promotion to Major General!

Commander Liu Chengzhi took out another document!

He handed it to Su Chen!

Su Chen looked over, and the next second, his eyes lit up!

Zhao Dairou’s gaze fell on the document, and she was stunned again!

This was actually a letter of appointment from the Dragon Kingdom Academy of Sciences.

The Dragon Kingdom Academy of Sciences was the highest academic institution for natural sciences, the highest consulting institution for science and technology, and the comprehensive research and development center for natural sciences and high technology in the Dragon Kingdom, having made extremely important contributions to the development of the Dragon Kingdom’s scientific and technological cause!

It gathered top-tier scientific research talent that could be considered world-class, covering mathematics, physics, chemistry, astronomy, geography, and many other scientific fields; it was the highest scientific research institution in the Dragon Kingdom!

And now, the Dragon Kingdom Academy of Sciences actually wished to hire Su Chen as their Special Scientific Research Consultant!

This showed that Su Chen’s research capability had received their highest recognition!

Seeing the excitement in Su Chen’s eyes, Zhao Dairou smiled knowingly: ”Sure enough, scientific research is what moves Su Chen the most!”

But the next second!

Su Chen exclaimed: ”An annual consultant fee of 20 million USD?”

”Old Liu, are you serious about this?”

”Don’t try to fool me!”

Commander Liu Chengzhi’s mouth couldn’t help but twitch!

I told you not to call me Chief, and you immediately changed it to Old Liu!

Fine, fine, fine!

Of course, Commander Liu Chengzhi didn’t mind, and he grinned:

”I already said it’s a Special Scientific Research Consultant!”

”What do you think is so ’special’ about it?”

”It’s definitely that the status is particularly high, the benefits are particularly good, and the free time is particularly plentiful!”

Su Chen was extremely excited: ”That sounds great!”

”An annual salary of 20 million, and in USD at that; it’s worthy of being the Dragon Kingdom’s top scientific research institution!”

Hearing the conversation between the two, Zhao Dairou suddenly felt a bit ashamed!

Junior, so you were excited because of the money!!!

Afterward, Commander Liu Chengzhi handed another letter to Su Chen.

Seeing the signature on the letter, Su Chen was stunned!

He didn’t know this name before, but since conducting a lot of scientific research, he had become exceptionally familiar with it!

It was actually from an Academician!

”Academician Sun Sicheng???” Zhao Dairou was also extremely surprised.

Although she didn’t know Sun Sicheng, she recognized the word ”Academician” following the name.

In the Dragon Kingdom, the status of an Academician is quite high!

It is the highest academic title in the field of science and technology in the Dragon Kingdom!

Out of over a billion Dragon Kingdom citizens, there are fewer than two thousand Academicians leading the development of the Dragon Kingdom!

And what Zhao Dairou didn’t know was that Academician Sun Sicheng’s research field was the cutting edge of the cutting edge, and the priority of the priorities among these Academicians.

He studied nuclear physics!

At this moment, Commander Liu Chengzhi said:

”This letter was entrusted to me by an important figure above, through Academician Sun Sicheng!”

”It can be considered as proposed by Academician Sun Sicheng, and decided by that important figure!”

There’s another important figure????

Su Chen couldn’t help but open the letter, wanting to find out the truth!

As the letter opened, Su Chen immediately frowned.

Commander Liu Chengzhi and Zhao Dairou both noticed Su Chen’s unusual reaction, but they knew not to ask what shouldn’t be asked!

Unless Su Chen voluntarily told them, even Commander Liu Chengzhi, a Major General, had no right to ask!

After Su Chen finished reading the entire letter, he couldn’t help but take a deep breath.

One look and it was clear it was written by an important figure!

The tone was quite imposing!

The purpose of the letter was very simple: to ask if Su Chen was willing to work on Controlled Nuclear Fusion!

As long as Su Chen was willing!

The Dragon Kingdom would provide huge research funding!

And there was no upper limit!

Someone who could say such things was definitely not simple.

However, Su Chen also knew that Controlled Nuclear Fusion technology was not something that could be researched easily!

And researching it, applying it to reality, and manufacturing it into a Controlled Nuclear Fusion power station was also a difficult problem!

Within this, it would require massive amounts of funds, as well as manpower and material resources!

For the Dragon Kingdom, it would also be a heavy burden!

Su Chen felt the determination of the higher-ups to research Controlled Nuclear Fusion, but through manufacturing mechas, he was very knowledgeable about energy technology!

He knew that relying on determination alone wouldn’t work!

This thing really burned money!

And looking at it this way, his choice to prepare to sell the First-generation Mecha was correct!

If he could swindle a bit more money from the Eagle Nation, that would be even better!

Thinking of this, Su Chen immediately looked at Commander Liu Chengzhi:

”Old Liu, when exactly is that Air Force equipment expo you mentioned earlier being held?”

Commander Liu Chengzhi was taken aback; he didn’t know why Su Chen would think of that matter while looking at the letter!

He didn’t ask further, thought for a moment, and said:

”Probably in two months!”

Su Chen nodded.

Two months later, the Electromagnetic Naval Gun should be almost finished as well!

...
