Rebirth: Starting with 10 Billion Us Dollars

142: Chapter 142 Western Smear CampaignSoon, reporters from Reuters and the BBC rushed over upon hearing the news, surrounding the Tianxing person-in-charge.

Those foreign reporters had ill intentions written all over their faces:

”Are you here to evacuate Dragon Country personnel?”

”Is Dragon Country going to abandon the people here?”

”Are you all about to run away too!”

The Tianxing person-in-charge remained unfazed, pulling the other party’s live camera to point behind him.

It clearly captured the mountain of Tianxing supplies, the Dragon Country doctors who had traveled against the tide, and the Tianxing Security members maintaining order and guarding the scene.

Facing the camera, he said in a loud and clear voice:

”We are not withdrawing.”

”Dragon Country never abandons its friends.”

This sentence was transmitted back home in real-time by a domestic reporter nearby.

Within just a few minutes, it shot straight to the number one spot on the trending searches!

”The more the Western media smears them, the more Tianxing’s magnanimity shines through. Slapping their faces with action is so satisfying!”

”Tianxing is a walking business card for Dragon Country!”

The news of Tianxing’s chartered flight heading to West Africa to aid the epidemic area sparked overwhelming praise at home, but on the front lines of the epidemic area thousands of miles away, the real crisis was just beginning, and it was far from as smooth as it appeared to the outside world.

After crates of life-saving supplies like protective suits, medicine, and disinfectant landed, they were immediately transported to the Dragon Country medical team’s temporary treatment points, completely resolving the medical team’s urgent shortage of medicine and supplies.

The treatment work, which had been difficult to carry out due to the lack of supplies, was finally able to proceed at full speed. Many patients with mild symptoms received timely intervention, and their conditions gradually improved.

However, the environment in the epidemic area was harsh beyond imagination.

The entire area lacked water and electricity. The temporary treatment points were overcrowded, with a severe shortage of beds, leaving many infected people to squeeze into crude tents.

The virus was everywhere; even while wearing sealed protective suits, there was still a constant risk of infection.

Before long, the medical team voluntarily formed by Tianxing and the overseas security personnel officially entered the epidemic area, with all members taking turns on 24-hour duty.

Medical team members assisted the Dragon Country healthcare workers in treating patients with all their might, while security members stood guard around the treatment points and supply warehouses, both to maintain order and to ensure everyone’s safety.

Meanwhile, upon learning that Tianxing had sent life-saving supplies, the local people spontaneously formed long lines to receive the supplies in an orderly manner.

The elderly and children held bottled water and dry rations, bowing repeatedly to the Tianxing staff to express their gratitude.

The previous slogan ”Thank you, Dragon Country” was also held high among the crowd.

While Tianxing personnel stood their ground in the epidemic area under the pressure of life and death to provide aid, the Western media still refused to give up. Seeing their previous rumors debunked, they began to intensify their sarcasm and covert smears.

Media outlets like the BBC and CNN stopped blatantly fabricating lies about a ”Dragon Country evacuation,” but frequently used cold sarcasm and mockery in their reports:

”A private enterprise rashly barging into an epidemic area is nothing more than a publicity stunt to grab attention; they won’t last more than a few days.”

”The so-called aid is just a gimmick for the company to boost its reputation. With the epidemic being so dangerous, they will flee in panic sooner or later.”

”Without the support of a professional medical system, a private enterprise’s aid is just a drop in the bucket and cannot cope with the Ebola epidemic at all.”

”Chinese enterprises are just using the epidemic area for a show. Once personnel get infected, they will definitely abandon the local people and run away immediately.”

”An epidemic that even Europe and America are powerless to handle, yet a Chinese enterprise tries to show off; it will only end in failure.”

”The so-called responsibility is just political theater. Tianxing only wants to use this to enhance its international reputation, with no sincerity whatsoever.”

They deliberately magnified the horror of the Ebola virus and played up the atmosphere of despair in the epidemic area, with every line suggesting that Tianxing’s aid was doomed to fail and that they would eventually follow in the footsteps of Europe and America by fleeing.

Yet they turned a blind eye to Tianxing’s actual actions of treating patients and distributing supplies day and night, deliberately editing out relevant footage and distorting the facts in their reports.

For a time, Western social media platforms were filled with ridicule and doubt toward Tianxing, and many misled foreign netizens joined in the commotion, waiting to see Tianxing fail.
