Rebirth: Starting with 10 Billion Us Dollars

106: Chapter 106 Old Jia Takes Advantage of the SituationLiu Yifei took a break from the film set to give Chen Mo a call:

”Chen Mo, the US side has started to make their move. With the new regulations out, the operations of our International Version in the US have been heavily impacted, and downloads have already begun to decline.”

Chen Mo said:

”Yeah, I know. Just handle things on your end as you see fit.”

Liu Yifei said over the phone:

”I’ve already contacted some friends in the US to help us mediate, and I’ve also communicated with the officials here. They said they’ll give us full support and will also put diplomatic pressure on the US. Their conspiracy will definitely not succeed.”

Chen Mo leaned back on the leather sofa in the manor’s living room, looking at the overseas data on his tablet, and said nonchalantly:

”Don’t worry, with the officials backing us, Jason won’t be able to cause much of a stir. Focus on your filming. If you really can’t handle the International Version’s affairs, come to me then.”

”Got it.”

Liu Yifei’s voice carried a hint of exhaustion.

”It’s just that filming every day while also keeping an eye on the International Version... I’ve never done this before while filming, and it’s a bit hard to hold on. I’ll come back to be with you as soon as I finish these few scenes.”

”Be good. I’ll give you a vacation once you’re done.”

Chen Mo hung up after speaking softly, looking very much like an irresponsible scumbag.

Just then, the door was pushed open. Wu Dongju, wearing a black suit, walked in and said to Chen Mo:

”Chen Mo, something happened with Tianxing Live!”

Chen Mo pointed to the sofa beside him and said:

”Sit down, have some water, and take your time.”

Wu Dongju sat next to Chen Mo and said:

”Someone wants to acquire Tianxing Live! The offer is very high; you’ll definitely never guess who it is!”

Chen Mo said slowly:

”Old Jia.”

Wu Dongju’s eyes widened instantly, and she said in disbelief:

”How did you know it was him? I just rushed over from the company and haven’t told anyone. You stay cooped up in the manor all day—could it be Zhang Kai who told you? Or do you have clairvoyance and super-hearing?”

Chen Mo smiled and said:

”Besides him, who else would have the audacity to touch my things? With Wall Street financiers backing him, isn’t he just trying to sneak up on my rear and seize the live streaming market while I’m busy dealing with the situation in the US?”

”You’re absolutely right!”

Wu Dongju nodded repeatedly, saying with some indignation:

”His people came to talk to me, saying they want to acquire Tianxing Live no matter the cost, even at ten times the price. They said as long as I nod, the money will be transferred immediately.”

Chen Mo said with surprise:

”Oh ho! Ten times the price? It seems he’s really putting his all into this. What, are you tempted?”

At those words, Wu Dongju immediately grew anxious:

”Chen Mo! What do you mean? Do you not trust me? Let alone ten times, I wouldn’t sell even for a hundred times! I built Tianxing Live from the ground up with you; how could I possibly betray you?”

She felt both aggrieved and angry. In his heart, was she really the kind of person who could be bought with money?

Looking at her anxious expression, Chen Mo reached out and rubbed her head, saying:

”Alright, I was just teasing. Don’t I know you? I was just asking to see how much Old Jia is willing to bleed.”

He then continued:

”He’s colluded with Jason. One is blocking our International Version abroad, and the other is seizing our live streaming market at home. They’ve certainly planned this well.”

Wu Dongju frowned and said:

”So what do we do? Zhang Kai is all prepared on his end, just waiting for your nod. Should we counterattack directly? Also, the domestic live streaming market is a mess right now. Lajiao Live, Yinke Live, and Penguin Live are all eyeing our position. If Old Jia really acquires other small live streaming companies and unites them against us, it truly could be a bit troublesome.”

”What’s the rush?”

Chen Mo said:

”If he wants to loot a burning house, he must be prepared to be played. Tianxing Live is currently the leader of the domestic live streaming industry; that’s the choice cut of meat he wants. He won’t be interested in those other small companies.”

As he spoke, he picked up his phone and called Zhang Kai:

”Zhang Kai, you know about Old Jia wanting to acquire Tianxing Live, right?”

Zhang Kai replied from the other end:

”I know, President Chen. His people found me not long ago. Their attitude was very aggressive, saying they’d take it over at any cost.”

”Don’t pay them any mind.”

He hung up after saying that.

Chen Mo looked at Wu Dongju and said:

”Ask Old Jia for an astronomical price. Say that Tianxing Live is currently valued at ten billion, so ten times that is a hundred billion. Not a penny less, and just keep him hanging.”

Wu Dongju looked at Chen Mo and said with a smile:

”You’re planning to play him?”

”Otherwise?”

Chen Mo laughed.

”It’s not that easy for him to get a bargain. A hundred billion—even if his financial backers are wealthy, they’ll have to think twice.”

”If he actually dares to agree, heh, then I’ll actually dare to sell!”
