Rebirth: Starting with 10 Billion Us Dollars

136: Chapter 136 Tianxing’s Aid to the Disaster AreaOld Huang looked at the messages from the merchants in the back-end and the mountain of return data with no one to deliver them. He sighed, picked up a Panda Collector’s Edition cigarette from his desk, and started smoking.

With the cigarette between his fingers, his thoughts began to drift. He had lost this battle from the very beginning, and he had lost completely.

On the other side, Jack Ma received news that the order volume on Tianxing Mall’s back-end was skyrocketing. Looking at his own continuously plummeting data, he said in a rage:

”Chen Mo is a madman! He doesn’t play by the rules at all!”

Netizens online were discussing the matter fervently, and trending topics on major social media platforms were topping the charts one after another, all regarding this e-commerce red envelope war:

”Pinduoduo’s merchant warehouses are overflowing. Packages are piled up on the roads with no one to deliver them. User complaints have broken records!”

”A fictionalized version of Taobao is even worse. Many community group leaders have run off with the money. Users are clamoring to defend their rights, and their reputation has completely collapsed!”

”Tianxing Drones have even flown to the ridges of our village fields. Freshly picked cabbage delivered in an hour—it’s just ridiculous!”

”LMAO, the apps of those small allied platforms just crashed. The programmers are on Weibo begging for mercy, saying the servers can’t handle it!”

”President Chen: Heh, comparing wealth with me? You’re still a bit too green!”

”Tianxing won hands down in this red envelope war. A fictionalized version of Taobao and Pinduoduo are completely beyond saving!”

”Who remembers still cursing Tianxing for being stingy yesterday? Today, everyone’s running to suck up to Tianxing. Their faces must be swollen from being slapped!”

”Pinduoduo’s 1-yuan flash sales are all tricks—either purchase limits or out of stock. It’s nowhere near as honest as Tianxing’s ’get back what you spend’ deal!”

”A fictionalized version of Taobao’s 9.9 free shipping still requires shipping fees. Adding it up, it’s more expensive than Tianxing. It’s a pure ’IQ tax’; I’m never falling for it again!”

”Tianxing Drone delivery is just too top-tier. Even the rural hometown gets same-day delivery. Other couriers can’t even compare!”

”Old Huang and Jack Ma are probably going to cry themselves unconscious in the bathroom. They bet their entire fortunes on burning money, only to end up doing all the work for Tianxing’s benefit!”

”Those small e-commerce platforms are so pathetic. They crash with just a bit of traffic. They aren’t even in the same league as Tianxing’s servers!”

”The stuff I bought on A fictionalized version of Taobao hasn’t shipped for half a month, but the drone delivered my Tianxing order in two hours. That’s the difference!”

”I advise everyone to hurry up and uninstall Pinduoduo and A fictionalized version of Taobao. They’re full of tricks. Tianxing is the only one with a real conscience!”

”Chen Mo really showcased his grand vision this time. No gimmicks, just handing out money. Tianxing deserves to dominate!”

”Watching A fictionalized version of Taobao and Pinduoduo collapse is so satisfying. They dealt in counterfeits and exploited merchants before; retribution has come!”

”Who would have thought? Two e-commerce giants were actually toppled so easily by Tianxing. Chen Mo is amazing!”

”Tianxing didn’t just win the market with this move; they won the reputation. From now on, Tianxing will be the sole power in the e-commerce circle!”

(For the sake of the plot, Dong Ge has been written out.)

Just as the whole internet was still discussing the e-commerce war, an emergency news report suddenly broke in, instantly overshadowing all entertainment and financial trending topics.

On August 3, 2014, at 16:30, a 6.5-magnitude shallow earthquake suddenly struck Disaster Area County, Zhaotong, Yunnan. The focal depth was only 12 kilometers, and the intensity in Longtoushan Town reached 9, making it extremely destructive.

The mountainous terrain was complex, and the local houses already had poor earthquake resistance. Coupled with frequent secondary disasters like landslides, falling rocks, and Barrier lakes, tens of thousands of houses collapsed within just a few hours. Hundreds of thousands of people were evacuated urgently, casualty numbers continued to climb, and rescue efforts were extremely difficult.

Chen Mo was currently processing documents in his office at the Tianxing Group headquarters in Shanghai when his assistant, Li Yue, knocked and walked in.

”President Chen, we just received urgent news. A 6.5-magnitude earthquake occurred in Disaster Area, Yunnan. The disaster is particularly severe, and the Official Authorities have already initiated a Level 1 disaster relief emergency response!”

Li Yue said as she walked in.

Chen Mo looked up abruptly and said in a low voice:

”I know!”

Meanwhile, he used his phone to dial the number of the head of Tianxing Security.

After the call connected, Chen Mo said:

”Immediately assemble a professional rescue team. Pick the most experienced search and rescue personnel, bring all necessary rescue equipment, and also form a medical group. Set out for the Disaster Area immediately. Get to the scene as fast as possible and coordinate with the Official Authorities’ rescue operations!”

”Understood, President Chen! I’ll arrange it right away. The first team can set out within half an hour!”

The head of Tianxing Security replied immediately.

Chen Mo hung up and then dialed Zhang Kai’s mobile number, saying quickly:

”Old Zhang, issue the order immediately. All of Tianxing Mall’s own disaster relief supplies—tents, blankets, bottled water, instant noodles, first-aid medicine, emergency lights, and so on—are to stop being sold or shipped to customers. Immediately dispatch and transfer them to the Disaster Area. Establish a logistics transfer station near the Disaster Area and follow the local Official Authorities’ unified dispatch. Supplement whatever the Disaster Area lacks, and only resume normal sales when the Disaster Area no longer needs them!”

Zhang Kai asked:

”President Chen, what about the customers who have already purchased these items? The orders have already been generated!”

”Unconditional refunds for all of them!”

Chen Mo said without hesitation:

”In addition, give every customer who placed an order a full cash compensation equal to the order value. We cannot let our users suffer losses because of disaster relief!”

Zhang Kai responded:

”Understood, President Chen! I’ll go implement this immediately. I definitely won’t delay the disaster relief!”

Not long after, two emergency notices from Tianxing Group rushed to the top of the trending topics across the entire internet, replacing the previous e-commerce war topics.

”I saw the news about the Disaster Area earthquake, and my tears just started falling. The people in the mountains are suffering too much; all the houses have collapsed. It’s so heartbreaking to watch!”

”Tianxing’s move really broke my heart! While other companies are still waiting and watching, Chen Mo directly sent a rescue team and donated all the disaster relief supplies. This is the responsibility of a great enterprise!”

”I just received the refund and compensation notice from Tianxing, and I directly clicked ’Confirm Receipt’ without a refund! This little bit of stuff is nothing; just donate it to our compatriots in the Disaster Area. Helping even a little bit counts!”

”+1! I also refused the refund. I originally bought a tent, which is exactly what the Disaster Area urgently needs. Just consider it my contribution to the Disaster Area; no need to refund me!”

”+1 for no refund!”

”+... for no refund!”

”Me too! Since Tianxing wants to donate supplies to the Disaster Area, I’ll just pay and receive the goods. Not a penny needs to be refunded. Everyone is responsible for supporting the Disaster Area!”

”Tianxing’s users are so heartwarming! The merchant donates supplies, and the users refuse refunds. It’s a mutual effort that moved me to tears!”

”Compared to the previous tricks of Pinduoduo and A fictionalized version of Taobao, Tianxing is simply the gold standard. Not only are they doing disaster relief themselves, but they’re also leading everyone to show love!”

”Watching the rescue teams rush to the Disaster Area overnight really moved me. May all rescue personnel be safe, and may our compatriots in the Disaster Area overcome the difficulties soon!”

”Tianxing directly stopped selling all disaster relief supplies to provide full support. This boldness is unmatched, a hundred times better than those who just donate a bit of money for show!”

”Even the Official Authorities praised Tianxing for their swift action and timely delivery of supplies. They’ve really brought honor to domestic enterprises!”

”We were just talking about the e-commerce war, and now I understand that there’s a reason Chen Mo could make it big. He has a sense of patriotism and responsibility!”

”The Disaster Area is currently short of food, clothing, and medicine. Tianxing sending the supplies directly is like providing charcoal in the snow!”

”Good job to the brothers who refused refunds! Natural disasters are heartless, but people have feelings. We Chinese people will always be united as one!”

”I hope there are fewer casualties in the Disaster Area and the rescue goes smoothly. Tianxing’s rescue team must return safely!”

”Tianxing’s move has gained them countless fans. From now on, I’ll only buy things from Tianxing to support a company with a conscience!”

”Looking at those landslides and collapsed houses, it’s really painful. Fortunately, there are companies like Tianxing rushing to the front!”

”Not only did they send rescue teams and donate supplies, but they also gave double compensation to the users who ordered. Chen Mo is truly generous. Tianxing deserves to be popular and deserves to make money!”

”I also refused the refund. It’s a insignificant matter; I just want to help our compatriots in the Disaster Area get through the difficulties sooner. Go Disaster Area!”

”The entire internet is praying for the Disaster Area. Tianxing is doing things with practical actions, which is more useful than any empty words. Kudos to President Chen, kudos to Tianxing!”
